Does anyone know if/when the runoff on Turn 9 in the in-game modeled track was ever part of the actual track?
The runoff seems to be from 2024:

Sorry about the F1 UI, it was the easiest way to find pictures. :boggled:

An interesting thought:

Considering the Xiaomi is not coming in Spec III, do you guys think these 4 cars yet to be revealed are, generally speaking - from a fan service perspective, better or worse than the 4 cars already shown?

In other words, do you feel PD is saving the best of the pack for last or did they choose the best ones right off the bat to better promote Spec III?
Better or worse is massively subjective - look at page 17 of this thread, where we got a "do we need another GT-R" post and a "so excited for the Mine's" post within about ten minutes of each other.

But I think it's clear they do save/curate things for big updates now, so I think it's fair to have higher than normal expectations. Even the Tesla, probably the weakest Spec II car, had the novelty of being a 2023 car in a 2023 update.

It will nice of they make good earnings money events around the news tracks, heck they should even do some around some old ones specially iconic ones like Nurburgring

Bringing Abu Dhabi could open up space for PD to adopt a more diversified circuit distribution policy. It's well known that PD is cutting-edge and differentiates itself significantly from its competitors in terms of content. Therefore, it would be interesting if the next additions of circuits were Korean, African, Argentinean, Mexican, Chinese, or New Zealand, not just real circuits, but fictional ones as well.

I wonder if the Europe section of the World Circuits map could be renamed to Europe/Middle East when 3.0 will be added.

One thing i didn't see nor hear anyone ask about is, will there be an increase in earnings cap? Will we be able to have over 100 million?
Personally, I'd be more interested in an earnings increase across the board (better payouts for events). I've only ever reached the 100 million cap once (back when you could earn over 1.5 million per AFK race on Daytona), but I don't race as much as many on these forums so I'm sure I'm probably in the minority here. Both would be welcome changes to be sure.

I wish Polyphony would add a sand track / rally raid event (who remembers Enthusia's rally raid stage?)

Very glad they're adding Gilles-Villeneuve!

I'd love to see more circuit diversity as well.

worst scenario for the four cars left would be SU7, Xiaomi VGT, Fiat Panda and
I hope that some of the remaining four cars are not electric, but rather classic racing cars, such as the Bentley Speed 8, Nissan GT1 R390, Porsche 911 GT1-98 or even Super GT cars, which are spiritually linked to the Gran Turismo franchise.
i think R390 GT1 is highly anticipated, since spec updates are meant for the most requested/wanted cars.

I'd predict the remaining cars of Spec III to be these:

  • Ferrari 499P '23
  • Fiat Panda Super i.e.
  • Koenigsegg Jesko Attack '21
  • Xiaomi SU7 Ultra '25
The reasoning being that the remaining four cars would be saved as surprises.

I think Ferrari 499P isn’t totally out of possibility (but doubt it would be together with 296 GT3). Ferrari VGT uses the same V6 engine as 499p and is heavily inspired by Ferrari hypercar.

I don't want to sound like a pessimist but I'm not a fan of them (PD) announcing this major update so far ahead of schedule out of the blue at a time that... doesn't really coincide with any date aside from the 100 million copies milestone. This is creating hype to make players think less about the content drought we're going to have for the next 2 and something months. Making an annual roadmap for what's to come in the series, in the same style as they present the Championships towards the beginning of every year would've been a better idea. They surely have a timeline for what gets released internally, unless they're winging it and bundling whatever gets done first together for every subsequent update.

Heck, they could've drip-fed us all this stuff in a manner of a car/track every two/six weeks or so respectively so that each car (and track) gets its' time in the spotlight for a little while at least, be it via the Daily Races and/or some additional Menus. This way as is most of the playerbase has its' focus on maybe 2-3 cars, while the rest get left behind after a day or so.
