Noticed the rain drops effect on the DS5 has either gone completely or significantly reduced. I can’t tell if it’s on or not. I think the feedback I’m getting is just the road surface and bumps.
Nah, think you're right, she's gone.
Tested with torrential rain on De La Sarthe's long straight.
Pitty, because i didnt mind it. Maybe an option for it wouldn't be a bad thing.

Honestly kind of glad. The effect was way overdone and drowned out the actually useful feedback. It felt less like rain drops hitting your car and more like you're driving over marbles.

And the effect often kicks in before there's any rain. Definitely needed more testing and fine tuning on PD's part.

Is it just me or is the drag race against the Viper in ''Gone With The Wind'' considerably easier now?

I did a few races against the Viper yesterday and won by ~ 1.150 seconds by doing 8.8XX second runs with my Nissan GTR.
I remember I did the race quite a few times in the past and no way did the viper run almost 10 seconds at the quarter mile-.

I’m glad the rain haptic is gone from DS. The first time it happened I thought something was wrong with the car and then I realized it was supposed to be the rain drops. I was pleasantly surprised the first race in 1.34 when it didn’t happen about 45 seconds before the rain actually started or at all during the rain that I could feel.
Hopefully it was intentionally removed and not something they’ll put back after realizing it’s not there anymore. If they do bring it back I hope it’s either optional or less than 50% of what it was because it was very annoying.

Did anyone check if the Avatar actually shifts in the DeLorean now? Previously, in VR at least, the Avatar never takes a hand off the steering wheel in that car, no idea why. I’m at work but I’ll check when I get home.

Yeah its gone.

The shifting animation is one thing that irks me. I’d like to see a driver steer one handed through some of these corners like in the game. Completely unrealistic.

Kinda disappointed about the rain feedback, although I can understand why people didn't like it. I've only experienced it once or twice having only got my PS5 last month. For me it was the first indicator that it was starting to rain because the engine noise was blocking out the sound of the raindrops, and I thought it was really immersive.

Like others have said, maybe it's something that has been tweaked rather than removed completely.

I haven't seen single AI wandering around without gas in Sardegna 800pp race. Before the update, it was a pretty common sight.
Never happened to me, while I do that race everyday or nearly.

Anyone pick up when all cars, in replays, started rendering headlight beams at night? I did take note of it the previous update and it’s still a thing in this update.

Some AI cars would cast headlight beams and some would not. I’m constantly seeing all cars on track casting headlight beams.

The thing about manual shifting animations is fixed but on a car to car basis.

They're fixed on my Swapped TRD Tundra, but not on my swapped Silvia Q, my avatar still drives over half of Route X with only one hand at speeds over 480km/h...

I'm starting to think it's something to do with gear ratios but I don't care enough to verify it.

The irony being that the Tundra is an automatic transmission only, so what the hell is the guys arm doing? Pushing buttons on the shifter?

That transmission has a "manual" mode where you can shift up or down by moving the shifter forward or backward.

Every automatic car in this game that doesn't have the paddle shifters will use this animation instead.
(The only two exceptions for this rule are the DeLorean and the Plymouth Superbird, they have no animations whatsover)

It looks weird but it makes sense, if you're racing an auto you will still want to have control of your gears, so using the sequential mode(some cars will it "sport" mode or whatever) is preferable.

What bugs me even more is that in night races is that when there's a car in front of you the shadow you cast of it with your headlights layers over their headlights leaving you with even less to see. PD please fix...

The no refulling AI thing has been around for ages. It happens after an update (not every time). You should be able to fix it by just restarting your PS5 (not as in sleep mode so the game resumes, actually restarting the console) 👍

Ah, yes. I took note after you mentioned it. It is weird the shadow casts like that.

I think the Le Mans 700 clean race bonus is more strict than before. I did a race last night got a 3 second penalty and I didn’t get the bonus. The car I passed was sliding off the track from wet weather. Did not get a yellow at that point of passing. I must of went too far off the line.

The AI did make contact with me at the beginning they touched the side of my car twice. I finished 2 and a half minutes ahead.

Second race I went very cautiously to avoid any penalties. AI still nudged the side of my car and I ran wide a couple times but slowed right down before rejoining and zero penalties and got the race bonus. With 2 and a half minutes ahead.
"The AI did make contact with me at the beginning they touched the side of my car twice."

I have noticed them being a lot more pushy then before myself. Kind of like being in a open lobby. Me thinks that PD is getting information from the lobbies and using it to program the AI. Just a guess though.

As it should? Your lights and their lights combine to illuminate an area x2 , their shadow is illuminated by their light but not by yours so it cast a relative shadow . You should be able to see a shadow .

Hmm, when you drive in real life, at night and the car behind you with its headlights on, casts your shadow, does it make the light in front of you darker/harder to see? Even though your lights cast a beam?

Edit: because... it's not happening in this race:

In real life I can't see what's beyond the car in front of me at night unless that jerk is running illegal beams . As a matter of basic physics there will be a relative shadow . During the day grab a high lumen light and point it at your own shadow , It will not go away , just be less defined.

Video uploaded showing it's not happening.

Sure, less defined. But, the shadows of cars directly in front of the player's car in GT7 completely nullify the headlights from the leading car, leaving us with less to see. Once we manage to pass the leading car, their light seems to pass through the player's car and 'boomgoesthedynamite' we have much more light than if we were driving by ourselves.

The Pontiac GTO Judge also has no shifting animation :)
