Finally, Toyota GT-One!
Gives me GT2 vibes, man if they also add Espace F1 it would be hell of an icing on the cake!
Nice to see R8 V10 coming back, too bad it's not the 2009 model but more of the later model which doesn't look as good and with more aggressive styling. As for Urus, OK addition I guess prior to Covid it was once on celebrity's must-be-seen-driving-on list.
Interested to give it a spin and might not touch it again.

For me, there is a sort of "Holy Quartet" of GT1 era:
  • Mercedes CLK GTR or CLK LM;
  • McLaren F1 GTR "Longtail" (AKA BMW Motorsport McLaren etc.);
  • Porsche 911 GT1 (too bad right now we have only the Strassenversion);
  • Toyota TS020 GT-One.
But it can be easily a "Holy Quintet" with the R390 GT1 too. :cheers:
You cannot have a Gran Turismo GT1 lineup without this bad boy:

Hah, good early April 1st joke. Kaz would never add a modern SUV before adding at least 1 station wagon

The March update last year did give a joke car too with the Alphard, maybe this is how they celebrate April 1 I assume. Remember they release these at the end of the month, so it lines up with April 1.

I feel like there’s always a controversial car in these updates. Part of the reason why only three cars is underwhelming.

One of the better updates, regardless of the cars history at Le Mans, the GT-One, like the Suzuki V6 Escudo is one those most of iconic cars from GT past, surprised that it took this many years to be included back into the game.
I wish there was more of a focus on newer European and American cars, playing Forza lately just makes it stand out how outdated the car list has become.

This takes me back to the early GT games too,the Espace would be bonkers to add,not so fussed about the GT-One except for the nostalga vibe.Good update all the same,interesting to see what engine swaps we get. 👍

There is an error in the article: The writer mentions two roadgoing examples were created of the GT-One, but this is incorrect. Only 1 road car was created, chassis LM803. The 1998 ACO regulations required one road car version for homologation, so Toyota built LM803 in 1998. The 1999 LM GTP regs didn't require any homologation.
Still hoping to see the Toyota 88cv
Because the car was in GT4? Why not the 89C-V or 90C-V which were faster and actually won races in JSPC?

I'm guessing this update means no weekly challenges for the coming week, really enjoy those but if the update is worthwhile, I guess it's a worthy forfeit...
Nah, they'll update as normal. Pretty sure the move to Friday was for exactly this reason, to make sure the weekly challenge update time wasn't before the update for some people and after for others (so they couldn't use new content on update weeks).
