Imo this is a pretty solid update. I actually really like the new VGT and I‘m glad we‘ve finally got Opel back in the game!

I also made a few liveries for the Corsa, inspired by the legendary DTM Calibra.

I suddenly hate the car a lot less.

Anyway the Elantra N is great and sounds surprisingly fruity compared to a lot of other 4 cylinder cars. For a front wheel drive car, the chassis is sublime and it makes for a fun drive. I think I'll be taking it out a few more times today. However I have to say that the 12R Roadster is exceptionally sharp, elevating the tried and tested ND platform to new heights. It really goes to show how competent the chassis engineers at Mazda are.

Why does the Rav4 and Elantra feels like you got Comfort Hard tires in the front when fully tuned? I have not messed with the suspension settings, I only used the Fully Customized Suspension as is and used Street Softs.

Not sure about the Elantra, but the RAV4 on Fully Customizable Suspension drops it to around 130 mm from memory, and the tires will rub on the wheel arches, causing a lot of understeer and rear instability.

I recommend putting the ride height to 165 - 170 mm minimum, and increasing the Natural Frequency to around 2.5 in the Front and Rear. Also, consider adding Ballast Weight towards the rear or Front Toe out, if you are having rear instability when trail braking.

This may be also happening with the Elantra, so for that one consider increasing the Ride Height by 20 - 30 mm from the Fully Customizable Suspension's default settings, and increasing the Natural Frequency too. Try it out, and see if it drives better.

By pure aesthetic choice, I settled on 165mm front and rear and this thing's nose darts for an apex, so I'm not sure why it's been hard to turn for others, unless they're slamming the arches on top of its wheels.

Also, I love that the Sports exhaust option adds four tips.

Well, a lot of people don't bother tuning, so they plop on the best suspension and drive the car right out of the gate. And then it drives like **** and they don't know why .

I already know the Spec III update will be so big it will take multiple hours to download it for the PS4
That's a good point. And it'll be over Christmas holidays so the home bandwidth will be at full stretch from the children streaming films/music/gaming 😵‍💫😄
As usual as the oldest kid in the house (50) I'll have to do my update at night 😎

The default toe angle on the Elantra is wrong on Fully Customized Suspension.
I recommend to set it negative on the front and neutral on the rear.

let the car dive at the apex.

A good deal of this has already been shared by Mazda on Twitter, but in trying to replicate the 12R decals, I came across this press release by Mazda with 122 photos of PD scanning the car.

According to the article itself, it was Mazda who approached PD to include the 12R, not the other way around!

The process of scanning and recording the car is immensely cool to see. The photos also show wireframe models of the 12R. Unless PD deliberately hid them, it doesn't look like the engine bay or boot is scanned. If we are to assume that models being scanned now are considered future–proof, I think this means we won't get opening parts anytime soon in the GT franchise. Shame.

Also, I am incredibly annoyed that the 12R's tow hook still drills through the tow hook covers instead of, you know... removing the covers.

And let's not forget this thing costs as much as a freaking 2013 Viper for some ungodly reason. According to Mazda Spirit Racing representative Maeda Ikuo, the 12R is projected to cost around 7 Million Yen (47,050USD in with today's conversion). Feels like PD just saw the "12" in the name and went hurr 120,000Cr. Honestly, the car's price might drop once upgrades are unlocked for it and the car is finalised.

I can also confirm the 12R in the game currently has 200PS and weighs 1,050kg (147kW, 2.315lbs) by setting lobby restrictions and seeing if the car can enter. So dumb of PD to obscure basic stats when such a simple workaround exists...

That's me 😁. Usually I install the full setup, then I take it for a spin to see if it works as is. If does great if not the tweaking begins.

One tiny mistake in photo.... background is CHICAGO
Yup, I know (believe it or not, I've actually been to that exact spot IRL). I chose Chicago because I wanted an urban environment but I just couldn't get the lighting right in any of the NYC backgrounds. The colors always looked a little off for some reason.

As cool as that would be, I don't want them to take any longer to produce their next car when it already takes them 940,000 years

I know Forza has it but I'd trade a modeled engine bay just for them to get their damn model proportions correct.

Random aside, but weren't the GT5/6 cars supposed to be future-proofed :grumpy: where's my Light Car Company Rocket PD?

"Future Proof" is more marketing speak than anything else. The data they took in when developing the vehicles in GT5/6 probably isn't all that dissimilar to how they do things these days. So, in that sense the GT5/6 data is future proof in that they can still utilize the same data to help design the in game models (along with whatever tech they utilize now).

It's ok, I'm from NYC and found it funny
