Which Gran Turismo is your favorite? I pick Gran Turismo 2, because of how fun that game was. Who can resist Racing Modifications, 600 cars, and more? It was the best PS1 game IMO. :):sly: GT4 comes in at a close second. So which one is your favorite? I Also like the better car selection in GT2.

Please note that this is a MULTIPLE CHOICE THREAD.

EDIT: Please post what do you like about each game, if you can... It would be nice. :)

I really liked GT3 for a long time, and even with GT4 I'd say 3 still edges out 4 as my fave.

GT2 was mad for the racing mods (but I like the wing option on GT4 as well, just not as much as race mods...) GT4 has some awesome content with cars, but I must say the most fun I had with GT was number 3. I played that one through several times, and if my PS2 was working I'd still be playing it, even if I own GT4 as well.

Just my humble opinion.

I tried GT2 at my friend's house years ago and i now have GT4, which i think is far better in terms of physics/dynamics. I find the driving is much more realistic in GT4.

Well, seeing as how I only got far enough in 3 to get a Zonda, I'm going to have to say four, which is where I spend all of my time. I especially like the ability to drive on more than three tracks in Arcade mode.:indiff:

Probably GT3, but I sure used to get into some serious races on the first Gran Turismo, too....... I don't know!

I´ve never played GT1 or 2, so I couldn´t comment on them.
I do have GT3, GT Concept, GT4 prologue and GT 4 though, and GT4 is the best by miles!

GT3 for the physics and graphics.

Tourist Trophy because it's the best motorcycle game I've played yet.

wow, only two votes for GT1?
Well, I voted GT1, I have childhood memories from it.... :(
But, apart from this, until GT1 came out there were no simulators at all. It was a revolutionary game.👍

I voted for GT2 and GT4.

GT2: Reasons:
The orange/yellow LM mod for the Viper RT/10, the old ''narrow'' but more original circuits like the narrow Deep Forest and Grand Valley Speedway - which was a lot better in GT2, Grindelwald, Red Rock Valley Speedway, the oval Speedway with the roof was a lot better,

GT4 Reasons:
Graphics, Group-C cars, Nürburgring, La Sarthe, Toyota-7 race car, photo mode, driving physics, roof view.

GT2 for me. i don't know whether i just had more free time on my hands back then, or maybe there just were not any other games around that interested me, but i certainly flogged GT2 to death more than i have any other version of the game. It also had Grindelwald & Red Rock Valley which were just brilliant tracks IMO.

Gran Turismo 4 and Tourist trophy. Gran turismo 2 is the best PSX game, but isn't as good as these two.

GT1: In the end, it all comes down to the fact that it all started with this game, it's still a legend to me 👍

GT3: It's far superior over GT4, GT4 may have hundreds of cars more, but that's the amount of what GT4 lost in fun factor, physics and how realistic it is.

i went with TT because im more of a biker guy than cars. 4 was fun, but, felt too similiar with none of the flaws from previous games fixed. TT's not quite right, but, still fun.

Wow Wolfe, you really do hate GT4. I must agree with you there, Gran Turismo 3 had more realistic physics with oversteer. Who would believe a 1165HP FR (The TVR Speed 12.) wouldn't oversteer during acceleration? And Tourist Trophy is the MOST realistic bike game IMO.

GT2 for it's close winning, GT4 for it's better weight transfer feel and better look.

Actually I'm getting good at close-racing in GT4. It's just a matter of figuring out the system. Anyways, my faves:

GT4: My favorite by a few points. Some people bitch about wheelspin, understeer, and oversteer being too overbearing in this game. I say: "bring on the reality!" That's what I love about this game..the challenge of simply driving is very present and more real than in other GT games. There are too many things I like about GT4 to list here.

GT2: The one thing it has over 4 is those race-mods. Red Rock Valley, Rome Nite, and Grindelwald are awesome too and not found in later games. Also, the horsepower/torque charts hadn't been axed yet. I'm a bit of a tech-head so i love mechanical data. Why they downplay it in later games?

GT3 is cool but a bit too smooth and slick. And of course there are too many cars that are missing. GT1 is also good and has features axed from all the other games (like REAL turbo lag and adjustable boost gauges) but the bias of Japanese cars to just (literally) a handful of American and English makes bored me within a few weeks.

cool thread 👍

GT3 really isn't all that much better, though. Maybe a notch or two on the realism-o-meter. What matters more is that GT3 is more fun to play, by a factor of about a hundred billion to one.

And Tourist Trophy is the MOST realistic bike game IMO.
I'd have to hand that award to Suzuki TT Superbikes, but that game's realism honestly makes it too hard to play. That, and it has only one track, and no street bikes.

Tourist Trophy's physics flaws do nothing but make the game more accessible and more enjoyable, just like with GT3.

Nobody ever mentions this but GT2 is the only game in which you can share records between different memory cards. In GT4 we can transfer licenses and trade cars, but GT2 is the only one in which you can actually take a 2nd memory card full of track records, load it against the first card, and have your buddy's records on every track that counts (assuming he or she is faster than you). It's technically possible to have a GT2 club with several players and load their records against a single master card. I love this feature :dopey: and you can't find it in any other GT game so far as I know.

I personally prefer GT4 over the rest, but GT2 is in close second due to the fun factor! 👍 Haven't played too much GTHD yet. :guilty:

I wish I could vote again. GT3 is getting fun. :D I love my 6 F1's and I finished the Formula cup yesterday in a F090/S. It was slightly more of a challenge than I expected. I had to choose when I should pit. I also used stock settings except with removal of the camber and toe angles. I had some fun. :D Too bad you couldn't change the oil during a tounament. :indiff: My oil was so dirty... Even the Test Curse one was fun, since I was in the slowest F1. I had to change my ratios to keep up. I never had this much fun since I broke out of seattle and drove high up in the sky like some type of airplane. So... yeah this is way more fun than GT4. I wish I can change my vote...

This is one of my longest posts ever. :)

GT3 is so addicting. I didn't drive so many cars in that game (maybe about 30 regulars) but this made me get real comfortable with the way the game's physics work. I know all the tracks like the back of my noonah. :yuck: I've had over a year's worth of gaming there and still haven't driven half the cars.
