I was wondering, a lot of other game companies try and beat GT. Some actually come in close perhaps they're better I don't know haven't played them. Forza for example, or GTR on the PC. Now I wonder, how can anyone beat Gran Turismo in a span of 4 years of development, assuming most games won't go into development any longer, if PD has a 10 year experience and obtained all that data the past years. In other words, how can anyone beat PD when PD is doing it already for so long. I could only think of working with triple the amount of people or something? Can anyone here change my opinion perhaps? I mean I'd love to like other racing games, but GT just has this driving feeling that I don't get in any other game. Sure it comes short in some areas, but I'm willing to overlook that if the rest is up to date. Ie. I don't mind not being able to crash, if it won't reproduce the results as it would in reality I don't even wanna bother crashing.

Will GT remain king? And for those of you who think another game is better please tell me why. PS: I don't think GT is realistic. It's as close to reality as it currently can get. I guess for true realism we'll have to wait for Playstation 4 or 5 :dopey:

I agree, the main plus point about GT games are that they're really enjoyable to play :)

hellas

GTseries will and are still the KING of RACERs.

FORZA = GTlike , but with NOS and Optical Tuning of the Cars and so nothing equal with GT.

GTr = ONLY FIA GT lincence, SO the cars are ok, but i think its more for the specific people , mean more the hardcore fuzzies , as they love to work on the cars and change all kind of parts ( yes like GT , but more detalled ), so just another RACER.
AND there promese of 56 cars ONLINE, it just LOL :lol:LOL :lol:LOL :lol:LOL :lol:LOL  --> without any trees and walls, and maybe canceling any curbs or spectators and playing it like Race Driver 2 ( Ghost like ) no collision..
Maybe then its playable 💡 💡

So just a normal Game , with some good features and with ugly tracks ( ex. SPA ).

GT will have the former and possibly the latter too.

Ive seen vids of 56 cars (full detail on everything), remember it's a pc game, thus alot more power is availible.
Having not played forza, or gt4 (gt4p hardly counts), and having only played a demo of GTR with 2 cars, I think it's slightly early to say which game will own which, unless your biased ofc.

In terms of realism, I still don't think any game has beaten GPL.

I certainly do, if forza is crap, I'll buy Gt4 and not Forza. If Gt4 is meh, and forza rules, I'll buy forza. If Gt4 and forza both rule (fingers crossed), then I'll buy both. Oh and add GTR on to the end of all scenerios ;). See, it's win win for me :D.

I'm not really bothered which looks the realistic tbh, I just want thrilling races above all else.

The word fan (a positive word) with Boy added on to the end to create one negaitive word. :).
I know what it means :)
I just asked why he called me a fanboy.
I do love GT series and saying that forza sucks but...why a fanboy? :) :indiff:

The real questioon is how much further can the GT series go? I can't see it stopping in the near furture (already word that there will be a PS3 game.). But someone has got to come along and beat GT sometime. Whether they will be able to take the GT fanbase I don't know, but it has got to happen sometime.

I'm sure that somebody in the future will do better.
It could be konami even Microsoft...I guess.

GT will rule as long as it moves on with the times.......

As long at it progresses like it is already doing (photo mode, b-spec) and becoming more of a diverse game it will appeal to even more ane more potential customers......more customers, more sucess...

Making the game more and more graphically pleasing will be another point that will help them remain king.....with the backup of sony and the power of what will be the PS3 I don't see how GT could ever fall from being the king of the hill.....GT can only get better and better interms of entertainment value......

GT will someday be dethroned, when you're on top, all that can happen is that you fall down. If Forza and Enthusia end up being great, they will bring the heat up and these games, if continued ie Forza 2, 3 or more can maybe become better by having 300 cars instead of 650+, but will perfectionnate their damage systems, their AIs, their handling, get FFB support and establish solid online communities, bringing some competition.

And for those who would be tempted to say that these lack will be corrected on PS3, there will never be damage in any GT game, note this, not because of the technical limits but because of the number of cars they put in. They need 4 years to do a game without damage, imagine the game with damage now.

See ya :sly:

GT is the King of Racers, has been that since day 1 and will remain so for a long time. Don't believe Code_Kev - he's just trolling and really should move over to www.forzaplanet.com and NO, GTR HAS NOTHING ON GRAN TURISMO, just like NASCAR - both are niche games that do what they're intended to do :)

thats trolling?

"Hail to the King, baby!" -Ash (housewares)

Name calling can really hurt your feelings, especially when it is some incredibly insulting word like "fanboy." (I think I might cry.)
Nobody has called me a fanboy yet.

Really, I don't understand...
Here at GTPlanet, calling someone a "fanboy" for loving the game that is supposed to be the topic of conversation even though they haven't played the "other game" (Fartza) which will almost for sure be inferior, is like a Jets fan going to the Patriots game and calling the loyalists "fanboy" since they like the team that has been on top for the last few years.
So, I must be a fanboy because I've played the best racing game in existence and I am pretty sure that it will continue to be the best racing game in the future.

Those who keep calling certain people "fanboy" are just "'fanboys' of calling people 'fanboys.'"
What a dumb ****ing word.

yeah, whatever...

I eat cows.
Beef -- it's what's for dinner.

Seems like some people just wanna sit back and call us fanboys "fanboys."

"this is...my BOOMSTICK!!!"

DevilGtx, I think your interpretation of "fanboyism" is wrong. Now a fan, being a fan is good. I'm a fan of racing games, thus I approach all games with a clear un biased mind. I'm a fan of GT games, I love the idea of having loads of cars etc. Now a fanboy, a fanboy talks crap, he makes stuff up, has a total devotion to something, to the point he views other stuff as crap before playing it. A fanboy is ignorant of other games. For example a PS2 fanboy would call Halo 2 crap before even playing it, while a PS2 fan would play it then make judgement. Explaining what a fanboy is can be quite difficult, but have a good look over cobras post history, and that should give you a good idea.

YOU DIRTY GREAT BIG FANBOY YOU.

DevilGTx, they are and will be called fanboys because they do not only love GT, they tell you that it is not possible for other racing sims to be better. :)

It's not comparable with sportsclubs, it's more like saying a software app like 3DSMax 1 is better than 6 just because.

So, "fanboys" automatically CANNOT know what they are talking about?
Is that it?
Then I guess I'm not a fanboy like I thought I was.
Cool.

See, I get my info from all the same sources that everybody else does, including you. Therefore, making my comparison between GT4 and Forza is based on a massive database of gorgeous Gran Turismo screenshots and a few unbelievably realistic videos versus a handful of screenshots (rendered somehwhere other than an XBox) and a list of features (not even equal to HALF of the content in GT4) from Forza that fail to impress comparitively.

You can call me "fanboy" if you like...
but I'll just be laughing at you when you're wasting your time with yet another disappointing Microsoft product
