I don't need the Sudschleife, give me the GP and the Nordschleife, seperate and connected, why not. While they're at it, break out the Spa, Bathhurst, Silverstone, Road America...you know what, just get the entire ALMS course schedule in there. Loads more european courses, including Bahrain, A1GP, Donnington Park. They need to include more human element to courses, and don't give me a Forza attempt, like that mess on the Nür. I want crowd cheers, people actually moving especiallly when cars are coming down the part of the course they are on...

I guess that a lot of people thought that GT-HD was PD PS3 GT5, even the morons at Forza thought that, there is an interview with Dan Greenawalt, lead designer for Forza/Forza2....meeh some people shouldn't even say things especially with the amount of news floating around. If Kaz got wind of this, he's probably chuckling...as if GT HD was ever GT5. Not sure if i can post the interview in here, someone let me know if that's ok.

Theres no reason you can't link the interview it does breifley referre to GT HD, also the interview has been posted in the Forza motorsport 2 topic in the XB360 forum, so anyone intereted in it can read it there.

when they are showing the demo, one of the tracks is Circuit de la Sarthe. the weird thing I see is that on the track selection its the Chicaned circuit, but when they demo it, its the unchicaned circuit:indiff: BTW, that video Exenter posted up(the part with Circuit de la sarthe), whoever was playing that can't play worth a damn.

here is another gameplay video http://trailers.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_gran_turismo_gp_e36_gt_h264.wmv yeah I know this guy suck :D

I think this game do look better then GT4 graphics, but not much.. in that video you can tell the game is running in much higher resolution then the standard GT4 which the whole point of GTHD, to showcase GT4 on PS3 in 1080p

Thanks for the link. It definately better illustrates the difference between GT4 and GT4HD. A lot of the videos I've seen are only low-res making it look no different from GT4 (bar the additional 3D spectators etc).

Personally, if PD released this game 'as is' with decent online racing capabilities I'd be quite happy shelling out my hard earned dosh to get GT on my PS3 as soon as possible.

I really wasn't that impressed by it really... I was expecting more. You can see relics all over the place in this game. Take note on the Tokyo track, the fencing just "appears" in chunks. Note that there is very little, if any smoke on the rally tracks, likely due to the fact that the game couldn't handle 6 cars stirring up dust at the same time... There were a few more, but these were the ones that jumped out at me right away... I know it's not GT5, but they had better pull their socks up, or I'll simply keep playing 4 and hope that the graphic enhancement options for the PS3, when playing PS2 games works well on it...

IIRC they stated that the demo was not a finished product, and that dust had not been added yet.

Makes it a bit better, I guess... Was that before or after the crowd wasn't impressed:p

They stated that it was just a demo knocked up for the show before, then during the presentation they explained what the purpose of the demo was for, what aws missing and that it wasn't the next GT, that the next GT would surpass the demo. If your not impressed by that dem, so bloody what, it doesn't matter since that dmo isn't representative of a game we'll be playing. It was simply there to show a couple of new ideas and to prove that the PS3 will be running games at that level of display.

Considering that some 360 games are still only running at 30fps, having a demo running at 1080p and 60fps is quite a big deal. Fully animated lifelike crowds, 20 cars or so on road courses, 4 or more on rally tracks, insignificant load times... yeah, nothing remarkable there. ;)

None of it playable... It looks good, but not as good as would be expected for a next gen title... Even if it's not a new GT, it's still geared for the PS3, and therefore falls short of my expectations...

Sure, but it was also made on the GT4 physicsengine, and run on the PS2! IMO the demo is not even close to what we´ll see later on!

Not playable, GT HD was playable from day one at the E3, they had it on at a few booths.

Are you sure it was playable, I never read that... And as for being run off of a PS2, it was being run off of a PC, not a PS2... I'm just saying that it didn't make me go "OH WOW I got to get me one of those... HOLLY CRAP!!" It look pedestrian at best...

It was being run off a PS3 dev kit and it was playable, search around you can find video's of people playing i at the E3.

After looking at the video of the demo I can say that I wouldn't mind if GT5 actually looked like this.

I mean, look at the reflections on the Skyline, it's awesome, way better than in the original GT4.

Oh BTW I run a non HD tv so that could be the reason of my appreciation of that video.

I guess all we need as far as graphics are concerned, is a bit more details in the cars, the tracks and the surroundings. I can't see where they could make such a huge leap in graphics that you guys are expecting for.

The improvements, IMO, will all be in little details.

I agree with that, sort of. One awesome thing about Forza and many other racers is the lifelike color in the games. Gran Turismo does look fantastic and very lifelike, but it looks like racing video on a TV. It's too blue, which a lot of games which aren't color corrected suffer from. So I'm hoping that Polyphony warms up the colors on this Gran Turismo. That would complete the package.

/\/\/\ I think you can fix that in the video settings, can you not? I'm not sure, but I've never noticed before...

I think GTHD is more like, Gran Turismo 4,2-4,3. PD still got much to add! ;)

Anyway this looks amazing allready! :D

GT HD has nothing to do with the next GT game, PD arn't adding anything, they simply knocked it together for E3, the next GT game is something else.

Let's do percentages again.

Out of 100%, what are the chances that PD will show at least some completely new content for GT5 at the 2006 Tokyo Game Show?

[UPDATE]
I meant to type 2006 instead of 2005. But you get the idea.

I'd say it's not certian but there's a higher chance they will than won't, say, 70%.

I agree.. its time to show us the visible damage, tire marks etc! ;)

Umm... did anybody here play the demo at E3? If so, are the engine noises any better than those in GT4 (eg. The FGT was available in the demo. Does it sound like a real F1 car now that it is on the PS3?)

I don't think the sounds were changed, but what does it matter if they were. GT HD isn't GT5, it's not even an early version of GT5, it's whats being improved for in GT5 that I want to see, not a demo verison of a GT game that's never going to be made.

It was being run on a PS3 dev kit, and a lot of early games are run off dev kits hooked up to PCs be it the first time people saw games for the XB360 or the PS3, so what.
