Gran Turismo PS3 Theme!

I need a member with a good digicam and a 1080p HDTV to test this theme on it and make a few pictures so i can fix a proper preview picture and test it a bit to see if everything is working properly.

PM ME to get my msn, hurry! :P

I'm doing the package at the moment i just have to test out the background now with someone with a 1080p tv so... come on! I NEED YOU GUYS :D

Unfortunately, you are a few days too early! I'm getting a 46" Bravia X3000 next week, where I'd happily test it for you and take some snaps. I would imagine that if it looks OK on 720p, it will look the same/better on 1080p, surely? Still, I'm no designer and just make daft assumptions like that! I'm sure you'll get plenty of offers before, but if not, I'll let you know when I get it.

In the meantime, how about a teaser on the background? Even a small thumbnail just to give us an idea! ;)
 
Well I got a 720p and it looks a bit too bright here, just pm me and i'll give you a link to it so you can take a picture and tell me how it looks on yours?

The only thing left i have to do is to put "Gran Turismo 5" somewhere and i'm not sure if i should put it or not as it's kinda obvious and on the other hand i'm not really sure where i should have it XD
 
I wouldn't bother saying "Gran Turismo 5" I'd just have the GT logo styled nicely with a bit of shading (not just flat white). If you send me a link to DL the pack, I'll have a look and see where it would fit the image best.

I'm definitely excited about this theme! however I am also pleasantly surprised by all the good themes in general

Hardly anybody bothers with super white and wide colour, not least because yours and most peoples TVs cannot deal with it properly.

Dosnt harm since it was calibrated with them on. Theme test went ok at it looks great. 👍

Guess not, but whenever I turn that stuff on, the image loses all of its shadow detail, which is correctable, but then when I watch TV, it's far too bright and washd out (I'm going through a single HDMI switch).

Until everything supports and outputs all these fancy things that HDMI 1.3 promised, I just go with the settings that are common to all of my devices.

I agree though, the Theme does look great, but the car is a little bright relative to the rest. I wonder if alba will tone it down a bit?
 
I've found that the wallpaper isn't exactly important to me in themes to be honest, either I use my own or generally just go with the standard Sony swirls with either a deep blue or green background.

I find that most wallpapers just detract from the overall look...

I know what you mean. This theme would look awesome with the black background and swirls. It's almost like the theme is so good, that to add anything major in the background somewhat takes away from the awesome icons etc!
 
It is, i'm currently loosing my hair thinking what i'm going to do because on sprite's tv it looks just like what i got in photoshop (ie a bit too dark) and on my tv it's like (a bit too bright) so i'm trying to find the perfect balance between the two to make sure it will be ok on most TV's (but then again i guess background isn't that important to most people but it is to me)

I will release it in 30mins max :)

Remember alba, ive got the XMB set to normal and not increased brightness. to me tho it looks great. but i know your a perfectionist. :D
 
I found a workaround!

I've got the default background in (a bit lighter than what you got now) and a background folder in the pack with three different versions (light -> medium -> dark) so hopefully if people got some problems with their tv they can just get the backgrounds from there and so it will look great on each tv :P

At least if people read the readme or find the background folder in the pack :D

Nice bit of lateral thinking there alba! Rather than try to make one picture fit many TV configurations, let people choose what suits theirs best. My TV is not professionaly calibrated - I believe in my own two eyes, and have it set to what I prefer, which is on the cooler, brighter side.

How easy do you think it would be to scale the theme to fit the PSP?! Now that would be cool :)
 
I have no idea, i don't own a psp so i can't test anything but i don't think it should be THAT hard, but that's not a priority for now, let's see if people like it on PS3 first :D

Ok i've got the package done, i'm just doing my last test on my ps3 and then i'll release it :)
 
1 pixel must be off hehe... so he attempted to correct it and the whole thing came crashing down :(. That's my guess at least.
 
This is quite beautiful, I had everyone in my apartment with their mouths open when they realized that someone made the whole thing 👍👍👍
 
I finally got my act together and applied the theme, I love it so much thankyou alba! :)👍

Reminds me of the community spirit here at GTP when I see it... *oh dear getting abit soppy now!* :lol:
