Edit: on a tangent note, while I was losing myself in the beautiful Korean landscape you posted, I tried to spot some signage in the Autumn Ring photo to see some language hint like a real GeoGuessr pro and I noticed one thing: the pit lane of Autumn Ring Mini is still there, so that could be taken as confirmation that it is still going to be in GT7 (some were speculating that "traditional" would refer to AR full and the newly expanded would be built on top of it, losing AR mini. Judging by the photo, I'd say this is not a risk though)

I reckon the update will come shortly after the GTWS round, so hopefully in the first week or two? A pattern I have noticed is if they "skip" a month for an update then it will come sooner rather than later. Otherwise, no clue

When GT7 started localizing its original circuits, I always had a feeling that if Autumn Ring were added to the game, it would be set in South Korea. The Asian representation was heavily concentrated on Japan, and China and Korea seemed like likely candidates for future original or real world circuits.

Something else I hope is addressed in the Spec IV update: removal or expansion of the Nickname change limit. Not sure I understand why they put a limit on that, and it sucks when you've used them all.

GTWS at Singapore will take place on October 3rd, the elite class drivers will get to race on Sugo during the event.

So my guess is the first part of SPEC IV update will be released on thursday October 8th.
Furthermore, SPEC III was released on the first Thursday of December last year (December 4) right at the beginning of the month.
I think the same scenario will apply here.

The end of the month slot isn't really a thing any more, there hasn't been an update that was the last Thursday of the month since January.

It'll be a Thursday, but beyond that it could be any point of the month at this point.

Speaking of which. Qualifying for this weekend’s Super GT race.


I’m not thinking we’ll see new GT500 cars. It would have made more sense to display said cars at the World Tour event instead of the Super Formula cars. Especially being the SF26 series ran at Sugo beginning of last month.

The two straights will likely be extended. It's move that they listened to the feedback about Deep Forest and are giving us the original as well.

It'll be a different route that diverges off the main track. It'll be interesting if they diverge directly by extending the main straight or not.

I really really wish they would change how race settings work, it should be in global options. It would be great to be able to enable penalties, damage, tyre and fuel wear (X1 for realism), grip when off-road/wet, reset options and flags on all events that have it turned off. Then some events could have different multipliers like they do now to force pit stops and strategy.

They already kinda gave this us in the custom race options.

A bit more complex would be to rework the events (excluding missions because I see them as " race scenarios") so at least cars are close in the rolling start.. And use the AI they use in the human comedy which is excellent and actually doesn't give up once you pass them. I would ask for qualifying and grid starts but they have to sell the power pack somehow...

Also I would love if we could simply start over and re-experience the whole game with these new changes.

If you look at the image:

Where the grandstand in the background ends is roughly where turn 1 of the old full course would be. So assuming we drive under that bridge to the right of it, it looks like the extension goes straight on from what would be turn 1 of the old full course.

Where it comes back is a more open question.

Part of me says it’s the Civic because it’s a slightly older car, thus providing more time for PD to model it, and also because the Z and the Supra coming alongside it should be from around 2024 as well.

But the other half says it’s the Prelude because even though it’s “too recent”, it’s Igor Fraga’s car and that alone seems pretty straightforward for its inclusion as soon as possible.

I'd say the Civic as so far the JGTC cars seem to be in roughly 8 year increments (2000 for the latest of the oldest trio, 2008, 2016, so the 2024 spec machines seem the most likely.

If the Prelude were to appear, then PD will have to had scanned the car before the season even started to hit the roughly 9 month timeline it supposedly takes to make a car from start to finish.

Just reading into the six of twelve cars previewed, three made their franchise debut in GT4 and three are brand new to the franchise. I wonder if a next three will have made their debuts in the franchise from a same GT and three be brand new to the franchise.

I was just on Blue Ridge Parkway on Saturday! Picking up...

Yeaaa.. bunch of sport saloons ended up on my wishlist. And, to my surprise, one of them piqued my interest enough that I'm already trying to go buy one.

W202 C43 AMG. The car was in GT2. The first AMG car built after they were brought in house by Mercedes-Benz (the W202 C36 AMG with the inline 6 was a joint project I believe?) The 4.3 was the all aluminum V8, 305 hp/305 tq. Sort've the basis for the DTM car at the time? I'd guess you know far more about it than me in the US. I can't believe how "cheap" they are relative to what they are. Also rare here in the States. It sounds like fairly reliable if maintained. Currently frustrated waiting on a loan approval

So yes, it makes total sense for the M5 to be added and there should be more like it. Less Hot Wheels looking fantasy cars. (Hot Wheels Unleashed 2, good game, go check it out)

I kinda realized that I haven't personally guessed what sort of events each car will fit into, so I'm gonna take a swing at it.

Xiaomi VGT - VGT Trophy
Citroen 2CV - Sunday Cup Classic
BMW M5 (E60) - European Clubman Cup 600
Mazda RX-Vision GT3 EVO - WTC 800
Honda Stepwgn - Japanese Clubman Cup 550
Honda Civic (EF) Touring Car - Japanese Clubman Cup 550

I have strong reason to believe that some of these new events will be at Sugo, too. But as to where else these new rounds could end up, I'm not nearly as sure. Maybe the Sunday Cup Classic could get a new round at Autopolis Short? I definitely wouldn't rule out shorter courses like Suzuka East or even Willow Springs - Big Willow.
