No way. For example I'm from Finland and there are very few games that get translated to Finnish. I assume it's a same thing with many other smaller languages. Only the main countries/langueages get translated.

Yeah, there was czech in GT6 but I highly doubt about the beta being available in czech too

You sure raised a point that needs some clarification now. In early streams (potentially running default settings) the black border appears to pop in on top of the gameplay's full canvas (acting more like a blanking option).
Mmm, I don't think that's what was going on. If by gameplay you mean the usual menus/replays, from what I've seen it's really just a black frame resulting from a shrinked image, showing an empty "background".

If your display is effectively overscanning you'd need to reduce the canvas rather than expanding it further.
Yep! If the TV is overscanning and you "fix it" with the Display Area setting, you are effectively displaying an underscanning image in order to cancel the difference (and line up those white markers in the Display Area menu).

Scaling the replays in order to get rid of the vertical lines could in theory ruin the 1:1 mapping you are looking for;
Correct again! Which is why overscanning is the devil :D

unless the adjustment of the Display Area only removes the blanking. Without a demo at hand it's hard to figure. By the way, any potential conflicts with the game's own display settings?
I don't think the game has its own display/safe zone settings. Wish I had the beta

I think I'm gonna open a new thread about this topic, don't want to further derail the thread

EDIT: I can confirm the Display Area is used for HUD placement (not size, just the distance from the center of the screen) during gameplay in Battlefield 4. It could do the same thing in GT Sport.

I raced TE the other night (Friday), and the Group 4 cars are much more forgiving. Maybe because they are slower and people can manage them better, not sure.

Started 5th, finished 5th. Still encountered a pileup at the exact same spot that seems to trip people up. Other than the unavoidable contact with sideways cars at this spot my SR increased through the race. Managed to get a 1 point increase on the SR.

The racing was good, but what frustrates me is passing faster drivers making mistakes by brushing walls or colliding with other cars only to have them catch up and push me out of the way trying to make up time. We really need an unforgiving damage model to address this. If I race without any self inflicted incidents then I shouldn't have to be concerned with seemingly careless driving. I guess the only consolation I get is knowing their SR's are tanking as a result. Still, I believe my SR is at risk when they make contact or I scrape a wall attempting to change my driving line to let the impatients pass.

You are defenitely allowed to dislike or like a track. That doesn't mean that everyone must agree with your opinion.

Oh I'm aware you are allowed to like or dislike a track, but there seems to be people who have a problem with those that dislike it (particularly when they express their thought about its inclusion).

Well said my friend, I think they should give a harsh penalty making people slow down because as you said, right now there is no damage. There is no consequence for people driving poorly at least they should make them slow down! I don't race Tokyo online I just do TT with all my cars to see which one is best, I'm not trying to get my SR killed by disrespectfull drivers.

And as long as they stick to the AUP that's totally fine.

I find it extremely difficult to do another lap of the Nurburgring with a controller. To anyone who has done a race there, is it only one lap?

Sweet! Won my first two races earlier on Tokyo.

First race on Willow went okay, if only I didn't make a mistake on L1, but got 5th by .005 at the last straight!

I know I'm likely posting footage nowhere near as interesting, but I finally started posting up my GT Sport Videos (along with a certain Career mode series) so here's the first playlist of many if anyone feels inclined.

Interesting second race at Willow Springs.

Started second but fell to 5th because the Scirocco has terrible acceleration off the line, but started picking the 4 GTRs off one by one. Had to deal with a Mustang that crashed out on L2, but he wasn't an issue. What I didn't like was how all the GTRs were everywhere so it was hard to be committed to a line, luckily their weakness was the last turn before the straight. On the last lap I got a great run off the corner and drafted the guy in first. I then proceeded to pass him on the right and he knocked me right off the track. Thankfully I got ahead right at the line and won by .023 I think!

Is the GTR better than the Scirocco Gr 4 car?

Granted I'm using a pad so sorry if this is useless, but its way better from my experience. Hauls off the line and is way better at Cornering. Even on default, I had a much easier time getting around a track with it then the Scirocco.

I don't even have a problem taking it around the track with the Scirocco. The only issue is the start, which dramatically lowers my chance of winning.

Started 2nd in my third Willow race, finished 3rd. Not much to say except the start blew any chance of catching the lead GTR. Now onto Nurburgring with the Mustang Gr 3.

In early streams that behaviour is quite obvious and happens in transitions involving menu overlays. No scaling at play here.

The Display Area setting certainly scales the HUD in the beta (just as if it wasn't big enough) but has seemingly no influence on the main gameplay.

As for derailing the thread, this topic clearly concerns the beta; and while the underlying technicalities may entertain only a handful of pixel peepers, figuring out the best settings for visual fidelity sure benefits everyone. Will no doubt follow a specific thread on the matter if you decide to open one.

Guys, am I the only one who sees nothing on the first tomorrow race? Maybe that means that the 1st phase of beta ends today.

I saw you. Sadly, you were involved on a big mess at the beginning.
Yeah that was pretty bad, hopefully next race goes better. Some guy tried to run me off the track.

This player kept on blocking everyone through the whole race so I taught him a lesson...

Haha didn't know you were in that race. I was having a blast with topgun until the last section after the straight. Was gonna give him second since I f---ed up both our lines, but he was also trying to give me second.

Here is footage from my final Nurburgring race.

Oh nice you were killing it. Pretty cool when you see psn players here on gtplanet.

I hope the lack of races doesn't mean I can no longer participate in the Beta.

No more beta? :(

Well besides the people deliberately wrecking people for no reason (which the ghost system doesn't do a good job of preventing) I had a lot of fun.
