American friends, I hope that you'll stream your achievments on Twitch during the beta for us little european guys...

If that is even possible.
Since some companies you can't share or will be banned on twitch/youtube/whatever else.

Yeh, unlikely.

From the beta privacy agreement.
"3. You must keep confidential all information relating to the beta software and the beta. You must not discuss the beta with anyone except us and other people taking part in the beta ("Beta Testers"). In particular, you must not discuss the beta with anyone associated with a competing videogame format or publisher, a news or information service (whether television, magazine, newspaper or otherwise) or in any online forum or chat room, other than our official beta forum. Any codes or passwords which give access to beta software or beta forums are personal to you and must not be shared with anyone else."

The first sentence tells me that streaming is more than likely out of the question. ;)

So basicly we're getting no info this coming friday?

I found this quote, from the Aus. website of gran-turismo.com, which is part of the EU region, interesting.
"As the BETA begins to increase in size, those who have signed up within the EU BETA Portal (see related link below) or received a direct e-mail will be selected to participate in Phase 2 of the closed BETA. Spaces will be limited so, if you don’t get into Phase 2, make sure you stay tuned for future BETA activities in the run-up to launch!"

Now I don't pretend to know exactly what this means.
But to me it seems to imply that everyone who signed up will eventually get an invite.
I could, of course, be wrong. :sly:

The time-frame between regions is anyone's guess though.

First, Phase 1 will begin.

When PoDi decides to start Phase 2 then they will start sending invitations. I don't think they will register everyone from beginning.

So basicly we're getting no info this coming friday?

"During the initial phase, our servers will be open for users during specific times across the day. We will share these times closer to the BETA launch across our social channels and GT.com"

I think we will get little more info. other than that from PD.
I may be wrong and perhaps a few extra details or screen shots may be included in the announcement.

But if the privacy agreement works as it should, those not involved in the beta should get essentially zero details, images, etc. of what the testers are getting to experience.

Maybe Europe get's the email a bit earlier then expected.

I'm sure there will be clickbait Youtubers posting beta videos to fuel their desperation for likes and views, NDA be damned.

Pretty easy to spot a clickbait video^^ Anyway, the GT community is so small thanks to Poly, you won't find many videos of youtubers about GT.

The fun thing about that is that this will be a very limited experience in the first stage. If someone violates the NDA and posts videos up on Youtube, they'll be pretty easy to sniff out on Sony/PD's side.

My inner armchair psychologist says that if they're that desperate for likes and views, they'd need to have an established channel already anyway for maximum reach, making it even easier to track 'em down.

Of course people will run the gauntlet.

But regarding this community, posting or discussing anything anyone finds online won't happen.
So enjoy what you find, if you can, while it lasts, but it makes no difference other than your own personal satisfaction.

Would be good to have this clarified, the whole NDA business.

Wouldn't want to get banned from here or PSN for something as trivial as discussing or sharing details about a game I'm a fan of.

What part don't you get?

And for anyone who doesn’t get a chance to participate in the closed Beta, you can sign up for updates here. I hope to be back on PlayStation.Blog soon to announce more details regarding a larger Beta access for the community… stay tuned!

Please refer here to see a full list of beta terms and conditions.

5. Confidential Nature of the Beta Product. You acknowledge that:

(a) The Beta Product and any information regarding your use of the Beta Product, whether shared with SIEA or not, is SIEA’s confidential information. You may use the Beta Product only in your home solely for the purpose of testing the Beta Product, and you will not transfer, distribute or disclose any materials, User Material, or any information in connection with the Beta Product to any third party, including through a public exhibition or display. You may not discuss your experience with the Beta Product with third parties or publish or disseminate information about those experiences;

It goes on to say somewhere if you break the private beta policy agreement it could result in your PSN being banned, and it explicitly calls out you can not discuss the beta in public forums. It states there will be a private section on the playstation.com forums where the beta can be discussed with other members in the beta.

That's the generic terms and conditions for all betas, even for firmware 4.50 - it didn't stop people from discussing it openly on the web.

The email with the voucher code will most likely include full terms and conditions, and a link showing where to discuss the game and report bugs.

As for media, even if they block sharing functions on the OS level, I would expect videos, gifs and pics to leak anyway. Life, uh, finds a way.

I wouldn't expect technical analyses by Digital Foundry or NX Gamer, though.

Yeah, I don't doubt that, and I doubt Sony or PD will be highly enforcing small leaks. But as mentioned by Kazunori in his post, by signing up for the beta those are the terms and conditions that you are agreeing to. As you mention, there very well may be a more specific set of conditions that accompany the beta invites.

Relax guys. Kaz himself said in the blog there would be waves. My guess is first wave will be very secretive.

I'm just as excited for this Friday for information as those who are able to take part and have actually signed up, and I won't even be able to, since I have no PS4 yet .

Either way, I'd imagine when it goes live, details will be kept relatively secretive, although as @Tassie_tiger mentions, I reckon the majority of info. will come from PD from themselves.

So it's pretty much like the NFS 2015 Beta. You can't share any info with the outside world, or else...

Heres hoping that PD don't borrow the same engineer that worked on the online code for Capcom during the Street Fighter V beta.... In saying that both games have approaches so similar that I hope PoDi saw the poor sales for SFV and actually decided to secretly put together proper single player content over the last 13 months.

Thanks for the blog link. 👍
I hadn't read that before.

They want us to play online, the focus is on eSport. So I think we can't already say goodbye to a good and long career mode. I hate how games want us to play online today. First GTA V, now Gran Turismo. I'll wait a few days to know how long the career mode is. Poly I hope you read this : I won't buy your game if the career mode is forgotten. It's clearly a game design choice. The online is the cancer of modern gaming.

Whether it's the conventional career mode of a GT game or not, there's a single payer "Campaign" in GTS. It looks like "Circuit Experience" will be the A-spec of GTS.

I haven't really tried to compare GT6 to GTS like that.
And I just had a quick go at looking at GT6 Career events, as a total, and I think I counted 35 races before hitting National A. :p
(I may have stuffed up, my googling skills aren't the best)

So I guess it depends on what an "event" in GTSport is.
Is one event a Championship of multiple races over a handful of tracks?
Or is one event one race?

It's a tough call without knowing more details, but it's probably fair to suggest that GTSport's A-spec looks like it will fall short regarding volume of racing compared to GT6.

Edit.
Actually, I might correct myself there.
I just took a quick look at the Japan presentation on YouTube.
Circuit Experience reminds me more of GT5's AMG Driving Academy events, or GT6's special events like Sierra, than racing championships.

The campaign mode in GTS is basically licence tests.

Only a small thing, I noticed the game is now on GB Playstation website asking for beta sign ups.

Also now on both sites as Coming Soon

Yeah, the wording on the PS Blog made it sound like there will be an open beta after the closed one.

[...] Spaces will be limited so, if you don’t get into Phase 2, make sure you stay tuned for future beta activities in the run-up to launch…
