Just watched @marvthegamer 's play through of the Tokyo track, and I have to say, it looks pretty cool, especially that high open section.

There also seems to be more trees? Pit section I've also never seen...

Would love to see this in different lighting conditions.

Also, contrary to most it seems, I'm loving this 'dreary' pallette - the monochrome with flashes of yellow and green, the plunges into tunnel darkness, back out into blinding light. I guess this track is a good HDR demonstration...

haven't we really?

That is light reflecting in the tarmac, which has been seen at Brand's Hatch as well. But it doesn't look like the headlights illuminate anything, which is what is needed if you want to see anything while driving at night.

I consider myself as a big fan of GT, I love the fictional tracks more than most of the real ones. It's clear to me I miss the old vibe from the classic fictional tracks. (Compare the Tokyo track with the maybe over the top Rio in FM6, and I would say the Tokyo track is not finished.)

We saw the night in a trailer. On oval track ;)
Which I believe was lit by floodlights, removing the need for headlights (in the same way it allows F1, Indy Cars and NASCAR to hold night races), a night race running on a track like Brands Hatch GP or the 'ring would be far more convincing.

Well we know that we'll be able to run in static conditions so I'm sure we'll see some night racing soon. :)

The oval track is surrounded by floodlights indeed. It's hard to come to any conclusion as the behaviour of car headlights is very inconsistent and varies greatly from shot to shot; at sometimes creating reflections on walls and tarmac, at others effectively lighting surrounding cars and objects.

This shot of Brands Hatch pit lane suggests working headlights too:

How representative of final gameplay these could be is anyone's guess.

Srsly? :D

@1:59 you can see the head beams iluminate the gras next to the track! looks solid.

I don't mind the colour pallette of the Tokyo track, I mean Tokyo is a concrete jungle.
My issue with the track is, there's no sport atmosphere. No grandstands, no spectators and I also haven't seen the neat flag marshalls.

Yes because everything ever seen in a Gran Turismo trailer has made it into the subsiquent game without any change at all hasn't it?...

that wasn't the point, was it? :sly:

What's important is we have seen the headlights fully working in GTS.

The lack of variety in environment is what make the Tokyo track a bit lifeless. Check the CSR5 in GT5 at day, it has more elements to look at.

No we haven't. We've seen Headlights working in a theatrical trailer. Whats odd, is the scene right before it as your watching the cars go by from the rear is the exact same scene, yet none of them are illuminating anything.

Either way, it would be ridiculous at this point if it wasn't in the actual game.

Hey guys! Is anybody have access to beta from fake acc, which created only for this beta?
I'm from Europe. Acc on US. Checking and checking but don't received yet :(

That "SR5 at day" is not 'day'. All the illumination is still nocturnal. (except for the sky glitch).

Sorry if this was posted before, but when is GT Sport Beta coming to Europe?
I don't understand why the US got GT Sport first, why not Europe and the US
at the same time?

Did anyone outside the US get a code on a fake US account(IP and stuff )?

"While we begin to roll out the BETA, we have decided that the time differences across the U.S. are best matched to the development team in Tokyo."

That is indeed illumination. Okay, perhaps night racing might be coming.
Even so, I haven't seen light bouncing off the track surface or the cars in these beta videos. It shouldn't only occur in a dark environment.

the feeling when you're 0.001 off from being back in the top 10 at Tokyo...

the feeling when your waiting for the EU Beta to open. No sympathy here!:D

I wouldn't worry too much about it mate, its a false position anyway.

Have to say (intentional or not) Polyphony letting testers stream the game is pretty ballsy.
