Playing with the Jaguar, with Racing Super Softs. Still trying to get the hang of the controller. Also, is there a way to check what tires your opponents have on? I'm curious if they change out tires to match yours, or if they are stuck on Racing Hards.

I knew GT Sport would look very very good but this is quite something.

I just got this with my PS+ update email.
"PS+ useres could get the beta earlier"
I hope that means EU beta coming soon(maybe with the store update on tuesday?)

I got the it too.The way I see it it says that "You can be one of the people that will be selected to the close beta coming soon.Join now."
In other words they are inviting people to get in the list. That surely IMO means that there is no way that EU beta is coming the next few days.

Assetto Corsa's physics are overrated, driving most of cars in AC is not fun, when in real life they are, hence, they aren't so so good ... The fun factor is implicit to drive cars, it's a big part of a sim, maybe the bigger.

Ahhh, I can't like this enough.

Looks like everyone beat the point to death, but yea, GT's physics are finely tuned to be accessible. I wouldn't mind it being a little less forgiving but I totally accept it for what it is. I'm actually gonna make a graph about this when I get a few mins

At this point GTS could have NFS physics and I'd still be hopelessly addicted to it.

It isn't an Assetto Corsa thread so keeping this short, AC is great, I love it, GT will never be the same as it though as it sells to a much bigger market and needs to be much more accessible which it is, mainly due to a much (much!) simpler drivetrain simulation.

With most of my mates I race with I can have a lot more fun with them on GT as they can manage the cars much better than in AC, and those people are far better than the average player. So keeping it accessible is a good move.

That's the problem with GT for me, i have my physics side covered with AC, which also has great sounds and AI that challenge me. So in GT i need great sounds, great AI and a great career mode otherwise what does it have other than great graphics to make me load it up? PDI just haven't moved the series along. If i were someone who needed accessible physics I'd be looking yo buy an XboxOne now.

Why some people still try to compare AC with GTS (not you mate) it is something that still bothers me.GTS is not AC or iRacing. Is not the pure racing sim for people that are "aliens" and/or want that "real life challange".
GTS (GT series or Forza) is for the more casual gamer, who want to enjoy a racing game, without the "ultra sim" factor.
GTS is not and will not be AC or Pcars or iRacing. It will be a fun game, with great graphics, improved sounds and physics. It will not be the best "best sim racing game ever created".
I really enjoy AC,I am going to get GTS and Pcars 2 too.For different reasons and not because they are the same (or similar).

As much as I have to agree with this, it also makes me sad... I fell in love with GT1 (and so on) because it was the most realistic experience one could have at the time respective GT games were released... well up until GT4 after which started debuting HC PC sims like rFactor etc... now I'm at a crossroad... one way goes to my beloved GT and the other one goes to sims which really push the boundaries of simulation

This is what I was hoping PD would improve the most and they seems to have ignored making a challenging AI altogether.

This is my first lap on the beta on professional AI the other night, I had hoped for more.

Have you tried using worse tyres to see if that's more challenging or if the AI slows down even more?

Is there any news on the progression made in the beta transfering to the full game?

No, but I really hope there's no tie-in. That's not really the point of the beta: it's to stress-test the systems, and get feedback from the community (over in the appropriate private beta forums) on any issues. That doesn't change how most people are treating it as a demo, but hey.

I think maybe a gifted car to beta testers in the final game, as a "thank you", is about all that PD should do, if that.

How do i unlock cars and tracks on GTsport beta? and which tracks are available?

It appears that you need to do your daily 'marathon' of driving 26 miles/day. It doesn't matter how much you go over that amount in one day I think it gifts 1 car per day max.

I did a LS on youtube last night for a couple hours. Mostly just messing around from a 2 year hiatus so it's nothing special, but I tinker with some settings and what not. So far just 3 the 3 tracks and 4 cars to start.

After spending more time in the game, I'm getting more and more pleased. I'm rusty but it was fun! No more skid recovery force garbage. That was priority 1 for me, so with that alone and what I'm seeing here, I'll be buying GTS and GT7 👍

The AI is waaay better (at hardest 'professional' level), at the end of my stream when I take the lead in that race the 2ndplace car was just a second behind me, not 30 seconds. They have awareness of you and others and while turn 1 is always "fun" it could be worse, though I'd like to see the AI jump out into the open lane with me in those instances. But really that is a nice to have, sure the AI could be improved still to that of PC and the like but it's good as is.

The sounds are a ton better as well across the board; hitting another car sounds authentic, rumbles, shifting all of it is done from teh ground up and they did a fine job.

Graphics are great per the PD norm so no disappointments there.

Granted I'm super rusty with my tuning, so can't yet say 100% but I think they fixed their backwards tuning thing from GT6? I'll do more this weekend I'm sure to make sure.

I'm saving The Green Hell for when I'm no longer rusty

So what was with skid recovery force and why did they do away with it?

So what was with skid recovery force and why did they do away with it?

SRF didn't follow real-world physics, or even attempt to. It was a driving aid that added grip when tires began to slip.

That's the main reason many (including myself) wanted it gone: unlike other aids, which are used to teach folks more about the underlying physics engine, SRF teaches an entirely different one. There's no incentive to be weened off it either, compounded by the fact it'd be forced on in a lot of events.

An additional assist that basically stops you from having ANY sort of wheelspin or car getting lose ("God mode" as some called it). Sorta great if you are short on patience when it comes to losing control, but not all that ideal if you are improving as it essentially (to me anyway), makes driving sort've...numb and too easy. As @SlipZtrEm said, it gave no incentive to try and improve without it.

@Jump_Ace
You got the black Genesis? I'm so jealous, that's what I would have wanted but I got a silver one.

Adding to what Slip said, it was also pretty easy to hack your saved replay and turn it "off" when you used it in said replay the whole time.

@88GTA Yep, and come to think of it, no paint options that I saw...o well. I'd happily trade you my black one if I could, haha.

I just used the Racing Hards that came with it. I had hoped that with all the time PD has into the development of GTS, that we would not have to resort to adding Comfort Hards to racecars to have a decent race with the AI.

When do I get a new track in arcade mode? I have almost 80 miles I think but still just Brands Hatch to use.

Is it Pro or Standart PS4?
I'm using Pro, with 4K and HDR. Also I don't think PlayStation's share feature shows 4K/HDR. So there could be a difference from what I'm seeing compared to what's uploaded up on YouTube.

"As a PS Plus member you could get early Access"

So this simply means you must have PS Plus for the beta?

Did anyone is the US get the beta without it?

Please tell me!

People have already told you in this thread since the first time you asked - and you could find it by searching the thread for 'plus' and 'beta'.

No, you do not need PS Plus for the Beta. Yes, people who do not have PS Plus have been sent codes to access it.
