Jordan was robbed. lol Steve was in the wrong split.
Steve is so genuinely quick. 🫔

I was hanging with him through the first two laps, with far-fletched hope that he might have an off or get caught up by some back markers. Instead, that's exactly what happened to me. I ran just a bit wide in the first turn (because I missed my breaking point by three inches) and that doomed my race; those land yachts were quite unforgiving.

That eventually put me in the wrong place at the wrong time to receive what I felt was a bogus penalty. I'm not sure what else I could have done there. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø I'm happy with the podium, though!

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

How the Gran Turismo World Series Set a New Standard in Los Angeles

I have had the privilege of attending most Gran Turismo live events over the past 15 years. While they are all unique, some stand apart more than others, and some set new standards for what the GT World Series can be. Last week’s event in Los Angeles was one of those occasions, and it’s worth taking a look at exactly what made it so exceptional...

I've Also raced Steve in EMEA splits and I agree, he is genuinely fast, and quite aggressive when he needs to be. That was a great race to watch. That one Spanish guy was a bit of a wrecking ball though. Was there anyone he didnt ram off the track?

Gran Turismo, despite its Japanese heart and its worldly sensibilities, has a very European soul, and the live events have come to reflect that in many ways.
Could one say that it is... on display for everyone to see?

Sorry, can't help but make that joke whenever someone says that something has soul. XD

Um... yeah, good to see that everyone had a good time there. My only critique for this fan fest, though, is, again, the live music (even though they didn't stream it). Here's hoping they take this to heart if they do another fan fest in Fukuoka next month. coughdaikikashocough

Good grief, I forgot about him winning in THAT of all things. Mad lad.
I hate that Tokyo circuit, too.

But I've still got that trophy! I was told there are only four of those models in existence: one is at Jaguar's design studio, one is in Polyphony Digital's office, one is with Kin Long Li, and the other is on my shelf. :D

Yeah, I think the music acts were more intended to attract new people and fans to the event.
I can’t wait for your YouTube video. Your podcast with the three of you. I hope it will be posted soon.
Soon! I caught a bug on the trip back so I've been under the weather, but we'll record a big show once my voice gets back to normal. There is so much to talk about.

If it had been me, I'd have put that model straight on Ebay

Seems like it was a great event šŸ‘
We were all commenting about the fact that the London event needed "something" (anything really) going on outside the racing itself. The only "extra" was the cars parked outside (although I'm not complaining about that Aston Martin Vulcan  ).

Thanks for the update Jordan, get will soon
lol did I party to hard after That podium🤣

This is the kind of event this series needed for the longest time, and I'm happy to hear how well it turned out.

I hope the GT Award becomes a regular feature too with this. I expect the Fan Fest events to become more accessible to a wider audience with this format as well, maybe we can see winners from around the world this way?

I've been lucky to have participated in events where one-off GT demos were available to the public, such as auto shows and motorsports, but from where I'm from, I'm always out of reach from these core events like GTWS. It doesn't help when 2/4 of the events are typically held in the same continent. I'd love to join a GTFF event like this when it comes around my region someday.

Info from replica races suggest the Ferrari might be sticking to the 458 GT3 for the World Finals?

Now this year I won't make the mistake thinking I'm choosing the race winners in the predictions, when actually they're looking for the champions.

Voted Serrano just because he's had a habit of being right there every time despite whatever happens. Still haven't decided on Manufacturers.

The end of the year has really crept up, really doesn't feel like the World Finals are less than a week away already.

I'm more curious about the actual races than I normally would be. Partly because I don't expect there to be much in the way of content reveals here, I think they loaded them all into Spec III and/or LA.

But also, there's an interesting subplot courtesy of the latest update where I feel like there's going to be at least one race that gets decided because someone falls foul of the downshift protection, and that will be interesting drama if it happens.
