Grand Canyon 2004 debate!!!!!!

Is the canyon 2d or 3d, in reality it's 2d, just like games, 3d is just an allusion but this is ingame! Is it 2d or 3d in the game. Tell what you think, give examples, etc but lets keep it mature, no insults cough code cough. Non of that and lets stay on topic.


I believe the canyon its self is 3d. In gt4p, you can see inside the canyon in a bird's eye view and the camera moves. PD has said they made the canyon many times, look at game informer's first gt4 article, they showed the man who made the canyon.

Excuse me but you've just laid the groundwork for code to insult you with that sly comment, you don't want people to insult you, stop trying to get cocky. As for the canyon, parts of it are 3d, parts are 2d, basically there is a floor texture used which is what you see at the bottom of the canyon, the river below is flat and just part of the texture. From the top it looks like a river because it's quite a distance from the track. The opposite side of the canyon to the track is on several meshes, some flat, others 3d. When you see video's of the GC track look out for what parts of the scenery change angle as the camera moves and the bits that don't. The bottom line is it's not all 3d, and the bits of bakgroun that are 3d are hollow meshes, they are 1 sided, if you were able to fly your car over them, ther would be no back to them, you probably couldn't even see them from the other side, they are not 3d like the course and cars, they are 3d like a folded peice of paper, other bits are just flat.
 
Oh live, you say some parts are 2d and 3d, but in the past before my good friend owned you, you said it was all 2d, hmm.

You claim to know all about 3d modeling, but I aint actually talk ONE bit about the actually canyon, all you can do is get you friend "in the know" to talk for you, and claim you own everyone.
 
No, I didn't, some parts are 3d, the track for starters, the closer bits of background are 3d, the further away parts are 2d, thats what I said, go and read what I said before making a comment like that, I don't like being misquoted.

THE CANYON IS 2D, KY and major sites have stated such as IGN, that the canyon is photos blended very well together to give the illusion of it being 3D, You know what im getting deja vu however the hell you spell it because I do remmebr this topic being covered in a thread awhile back but since I dont feel like looking for it I wont. and for Cobragt you say you dont want anyone flamming you but you point a person out, in my book and many others THAT isnt very mature since your supposed to be this big mature kid, all you had to say was "we dont need flamming" and thats that, you say your old and mature but you really dont act like it, maybe if you take things seriously more then people would respect and belive you more, word of advice... stop being like a little child and act more like your age, which is well who knows what your age is since you act like your 8yrs old..

Why are you so bothered cobra about it being 3d anyway, it's just a piece of scenery.

Im im complaining about a video game then what have I been reading what youve been saying for the past few months, you complain about the human element (video games, gt4) you complain about the realistic graphics, oops photo realistic graphics, (sorry cobra forgot that part) ... all you b*tch is about games and anything to do with computer games.. how could you tell me that I talk about games when you do the EXACT SAME THING.. explain to me that please I need the humor tonight??

MY vote is its 3d .. I noticed flat sharp edges.


edit:ITs not a vote it is 3D. Looking at a picture you can see the edges of the polygons.

We all know Background in games are 2D well for the most part, the sky is deff 2D in every game id say, and so are the background actually, there really isnt any suprise there but thanks for pointing it out askia47 :D
