How do I get a match with GTP-ers? I cant seem to figure out how to get a private match

As far as inviting people. Just start a MP game on Party Mode and use the phone to invite anyone you'd like then pick a gametype from there. That's how me and a friend are doing it right now.

OH my god. Have you guys noticed that the old cars backfire and stuff? I was just following this old K-car looking thing, and all of a sudden it backfired and a huge plume of black smoke shot out the exhaust pipe. Hahahahaha, this game is great.

So how are you guys playing? Are you focusing on completeing missions or just mucking about?

Peronally im focusing on doing missions + gettnig those cars for Brucie with the odd "date" and night out with the mates.

I havnt bothered doing any vigilante yet either.... Probably aiming to get all the missions done and areas unlocked before i branch off into just roaming around and doing random stuff.

Edit.. hahaha yes i noticed that too.. and if you drive one it backfires and blows smoke all the time! haha.

yeah, one of the first cars I got was a beater that when cruising, would hesitate when you mashed it before taking off. Very realistic!! The cool thing is though, not all of that car will be a beater, and some cars will have different body styles or body kits!

Guys I have a problem. I can't auto-aim at all. My friend says to hold left trigger down all the way and all it ever is is just free-aim it doesn't lock on to a person AT ALL. I looked at the controls menu and there is no option for auto-aim. Any ideas? I'm doing terrible at multiplayer just because of that reason. I have to free aim everything.

Also, with the classic controls, you have to take your thumb off the accelerator/brake to hit R3 to use the reverse view. Wouldn't be a problem with the default controls but i can't get used to accelerating and braking with the shoulder buttons.
It'd be nice if we could assign buttons individually.

It seems like when you look away from people you've shot then look back, they crawl back up then fall right away. I think i remember one mission where i entered a room with a bunch of guys i just shot, and they were still alive, begging for help and an ambulance.

Perhaps it was a way to keep the game with nothing more serious than an M rating?

Yep, I noticed the backfire on the Banshee as well, though I haven't seen what Omnis saw. Haven't seen it on the Turismo or the Infernus yet. BTW, anyone else think some cars in the game have a turning radius that may be a little too wide?

Anyone who's online in your XMB friend list will show up in the game on your cellphone. Those playing GTA will have a "IV" symbol next to their names. You can invite them to games from the phone, or a game lobby. Or they can invite you, and you access it under Multiplayer>Invites in your cell phone.

Yea to expand on this notion, I was in a blista compact, and I drove the piss out of it, smoke was pouring out the engine, and instead of it catching on fire like what normally happened in all the other gta's, it turned off, and wouldnt turn back on. When i pushed the gas, you could hear Niko turning the ignition, but the car wouldnt start. Very realistic.

Sorry, 360 here. On my controls menu it says that the left trigger is for both free aim and auto lock. But it doesn't auto lock. Also on the list of options for controls I don't have an option for auto-aim whilst my friend claims he does on his GTAIV on the 360. What gives?

Really? Are you holding it all the way down? I usually have to exert some pressure when holding it down to get it to Auto-Lock.

BTW, I love the realism in killing someone through a car window.

On the Petrovic mission, it was dumb luck, but I was able to put a bullet into Lenny's head from behind. Result? Head hit the horn and the car sped into a building.

Yeah it's kinda like the corvair lookalike from SA. It's a beat up boat of a car. It plumes black smoke constantly and backfires alot. As for the Infernus backfiring I remember it backfiring once when I let off the gas in multiplayer.

I'm not sure I saved and shut off my console after getting there. It's the first island you unlock that's all I know heh.

Certain sites on the internet have phone numbers written under their contact page, such as the Euro car dealer (I’d actually like to buy a car from them, if it’s possible ). Also, I haven’t figured out how to call the police, because they are not in my contact list.

That would be funny if it could be linked to skype or something and you could call real phone numbers from in game... like order pizza from your local! Then you would never leave GTA or your living room again!

When you access the cell phone (up button on 360, not sure about PS3), if you press up again you can access the keypad and dial any number.

you can prank call your friends or something dammit i'm so jealous of you guys. i can't wait for mine to arrive. i checked with them today and they said that it's gonna take a little bit longer for the collector's ed. . should of just got the regular one.
