My old system had a P4HT 3ghz, and an AGP 7600GT and that seems to be a fairly good combo. AGP 7600s are fairly cheap these days, but for futureproofing sakes I'd get a new motherboard with PCI-E, a cheap Core 2 or Athlon X2, some DDR2 RAM and an 8800GT or whatever you decide on. It will be more expensive than just buying a new card for your current system, but it will be much much much quicker and will also be easily upgradeable in the future should you choose to do that.
