A question for @anim8r_uk:

So I was looking on Steam and found GRID Autosport. I scrolled down a bit and saw this

Pre-Purchase GRID Autosport
Prepurchase to receive a free copy of the Black Edition DLC and a free copy of DiRT Showdown
GRID 2 owners receive a 10% Pre-Purchase discount

Do I get Showdown as soon as I pre-purchase GRID or do I have to wait until Autosport comes out?

Here's the link.
If you don't know the answer, that's fine with me. :)

EDIT: Found the answer 2 posts below.

I guess I should give the CliffsNotes version of the rules now:

Everyone runs the same livery, you need a number, everyone must follow the OLR, and if you get caught "out of line" you get a strike. Three strikes, you're out and I will not let you back in no matter how many PMs you send to me, or to any other member of the club.

Oh, and thanks to everyone who voted so far! 👍

I'll probably just go through the entire game in an unspecified order dictated by random.org's RNG.
Again, this should be in a separate thread so as not to continually talk off topic about our specific project in a general GAS thread. I'd create it but I'm assuming you'll want control of the OP so hop to it.

I'd also suggest looking at the possibility of using a base livery with some room for customization but the overall look remaining the same.

I bought it via that link and got DiRT Showdown immediately.

...only played 15 mins and disliked it, though, not my thing :)....

It's because you play as a driver being hired by existing teams. A driver would have little to no say in customizing the car.

You can only use custom liveries online. Offline you're racing for existing teams that already have liveries.
Tks for explaining this...makes better sense now but it still kills the game for me for the reasons I've given. My problem.

Sorry to intrude. I hope this isn't the case. Maybe it's like GRID1 where you had the option to race with another team as a "rental driver"

If there's one thing I loved about GRID1 it was the "building" a team.

I'm pretty sure it's not the case in GRID Autosport. You can build a team online, but career mode is just racing for existing teams.

For a team name, I voted for GTPLanet Racing International. I imagine that drivers are competing all over the world, so that makes the most sense to me.

Then again, I will be forming my own team...

If you have a car pack and a friend doesn’t, you’ll still be able to race together and more importantly, see each other’s cars.

Be frank, this was a bloody big nail.

DLC is never good news. Especially when it is coming from a company like Codemasters, who are developing a reputation for releasing games that are 80% complete in terms of content, and then leaving the remaining 20% to DLC. For example, DIRT 3 should have shipped with the Monaco and Shibuya stages and both car packs, but it didn't. Not until you waited six months for the "Complete Edition".

This. Looking at the track and car list there are quite a few cars and tracks that are left out from Grid1/2. I hope they don't try and resell us old assets as 'new' DLC.

I'll make a time trial thread while we await the impending update, which will feature time trials.

The date for time trial feature to be launched is unknown, so the thread well be active indefinitely until CM makes the TT update available.

Thanks.

I'd rather they filled GA with new content and made old assets available as DLC if the alternative is to fill GA with old assets and only make the new content available through download only. The Shibuya DLC stages in DIRT 3 were remakes of content from previous games, but only really stood out because the other rallycross stages were fairly simple and ordinary.

I think the real challenge they face is in spreading themselves too thin. DIRT 3 had a real breadth of content, but very little depth. For example, Baja buggies and trucks were included, but there were just four circuits for them, so you had to keep playing the same stuff over and over again. So I think GA would be better off concentrating on two or three disciplines, rather than five. Although I do like the idea of being able to complete the game in one discipline if you wish.

Anyone know if there's a review embargo like GT6 had? Curious to read the first ones here.

Personally..... with all the previews, videos, updates, discipline videos and information that's already been released, I don't see what a review is really going to offer. At this stage, I'd have thought people will have made up their minds already?

Reviews can sometimes be biased based on the reviewers preference for gaming. If a reviewer who only likes football games reviews a racing game, I doubt you'd see 10/10.... same as a racing game fan.... they're more likely to review it higher.

Remember... a review is just that persons opinion.... doesn't mean it has to be yours too. I have played games that scored 4/10 and really enjoyed them..... it just depends on what you like as a gamer.

I find the best reviews are the ones you make yourself, based on information you have already received before release......

....but maybe that's just me :)

I always was a big fan of the Dynasty Warriors series, consistently slated in reviews and yet I love the series. Reviews are just an opinion end of the day.
