So they are selling us an All-in-One DLC pack even before any actual DLC is out? And only a discount at that. CM's tradition of DLC rip offs continues it seems...

On another note, I have found that setting the differential to fully open and softening front & rear springs all the way helps to cure the chronic understeer somewhat.

Understeer? Under*steer?!

No one else has mentioned understeer. I'm finding nothing but oversteer... :odd:

Watching reviews and so far the only cons I see are the blurry, undetailed cockpit view and the lack of pit stops. Other than that, it seems very sleek. 👍

It is a very sleek game, and regarding the dash being blurred you don't notice it as your eyes are focused on track the whole time (tracks look beautiful also on PS3 i might add). I like how codies made this solution for not having to spend polygons on a dash and it works perfectly.

Just take the closest interior view that's the best IMO.

I saw that on the website, I couldn't believe it. "Unlock all content with a season pass" it said, so its obviously already on the disc. And extra online garage slots are DLC, which I'm assuming will be an advantage to those who buy it. Annoys me so much how they rip people off like that.

Played the first season in touring cars last night, and I don't know if there are any settings I can change but the graphics are horrible. Looks way worse than any screenshot or video I've seen.

There's lots of oversteer, yes, but it's power oversteer that happens when you put too much throttle down too early. That's believable and manageable with throttle control. The understeer on the other hand is always there from corner entry to exit unless you slow down to a crawl. There's no warning of when you're about to approach the grip limit. It feels like stability control is on all the time. I drive with all aids off except ABS btw.

It's really boggling how the same company that makes such intuitive driving models like Grid1/Dirt2/3 can make something like Grid 2 & GAS. In Grid 2 the front end grip is fine, but the rear feels like it's on ice. In GAS the rear end grip is fine, but the front now feels like on ice.

You can buy extra online garage slots with in-game credits, so I assume the Season Pass just unlocks them for free. Unless there's an online garage slot limit that I don't know about (haven't been online much yet).

@anim8r_uk I have a laptop that can run the original GRID at 60fps on low graphical fidelity settings with high resolution....are the graphics in autosport as adaptable as the first GRID, or are the requirements completely different? I've looked online but I was wondering if you had an insight into this.

So far I'm really enjoying the game. The physics are can be unforgiving at times which is good and racing can close and tough. Currently making my way through the touring car portion of career mode.

Also I think Forge Motorsport have it out for me.

I don't really like how in the Racenet time trials that you have to complete all three laps for your best lap to count. I would like to be able to just set a fast lap on the first lap and quit. I mean, what's the point of knowing I put in a platinum lap already and just cruise the last two laps?

@LeGeNd-1 I use 0 ABS in Grid... I also only drive touring cars and formula cars. What are you yakking about, understeer? The cars have lift-off oversteer. All of them. I hate it.

MINI Cup (new Cooper) does not oversteer at all on real life.

Well, if it is then someone will dig it out of the PC files soon enough.

I doubt it, they seem to have quite a lot of content planned post-release.

Am I really the only person who absolutely hated the physics in Grid 1?? :odd:

No. I didn't enjoy the first Grid at all.

Nice summary... I only did a couple of touring car races but braking from any high speed straight was very difficult to find consistent braking points.

I'm running with all aids off (including ABS) and I suspect that it's actually locking up the fronts if I push the brake pedal fractionally more than some particular amount, but I can't yet find the right audio or FFB cues to help me understand exactly what that point is. I'm tempted to enable ABS because of this.

Not totally up to speed with all the options etc, but pretty sure you can run everything on low spec with high resolutuon in Autosport.

It's pretty well optimised, the rendering team have done a fantastic job. You might be able to run it with better settings than the original Grid. No guarantees though. You'd need to try it.

sorry I can't offer any more info

agreed and noted.

Andrew you have to stop making those blanket generalizations, they make you look silly.

I think you only have 5, with the option to buy a 6th for $50K. Not sure what the thinking is behind this, you'd think they'd have a slot for every single car series so you can own at least one of each. I stocked up on Touring Cars last night after accumulating some money but even just in the TC category, I don't have a car for each series.

About the Mini, give the Classic one a go and with it you get a good feel for how the physics generate understeer 👍

Only played for around five hours but so far so good, haven't got to the Grand Slam part of the career yet, what happens then?

agreed and noted.

Since this isn't like a time trial or qualifying session in career, you can just restart it over and over again anyway, I think the best format is just to do it like GT seasonal time trials. Give people unlimited laps, and always just register their personal best when they quit.

I've never heard of a broken window to begin with. Racing cars are usually made with lexan Windows....

I know this was talked about ages ago now, but today in BTCC, Rob austin had an off and wrecked his car. The glass in his door had shattered. The organisers/officials wouldn't let him do qualifying unless the glass could be replaced.... so in stepped a racing engineer who offered the passanger side door glass from his road Audi A4 and they fitted it to Rob's car allowing him to qualify.

Just made me remember this conversation.... :)

Well, you can do the Grand Slam if you'd like to, or you can either keep doing some more seasons in the other disciplines or...go online?

I'm not there myself yet, but I've got about one Street season left before I unlock it myself.

I do not believe you are being serious.

That's what I felt too. The only way I can avoid locking is to pump the brakes like crazy. There's no way to 'feel' the grip threshold. Since it's not modeled properly and brake bias adjustment is limited, I just decided to use the aid.

That's good to know. I was starting to think it's more favourable to just use loaner cars instead of buying your own. No garage costs, no repair fees...
