Have you ever met...humans? ;):D

Lol, humans make a choice to be absolute bellends though hehe :p :D

It always has for me. If they can't catch you, they can't ram you.
Sure but it doesn't always work that way, even from pole with a massively quick car, you still can't get away from it, boy I hope I'm misreading the tone of what you're saying too lol

Also does PSN blocking someone prevent them from being in a lobby with you? Never played Grid1/2 online and in F12010>13 a blocked person can enter your lobby.

The people that really grind my gears are when 8-12 year old kids come into a room, they talk all of the time (includes whining when they are not in the lead). They race like its bumper cars... All of them suck at racing games and shooter games and should stick to Minecraft... I don't mean to be against a country or be stereotypical, but many times that I have raced with Brazilians, they are very aggressive and will slam me into the wall if I try to pass.

We were all 8-12 year old kids once. :sly:

Just that when most of us were that age, accessible, large-scale online gaming wasn't actually a thing... lol

I was really hoping we could build the GTP Racing Club to the point where we had several hundred members and we could organize our own races and series and have full grids of fairly equal competitors and clean racing. Racing in random public lobbies will always be a crapshoot.

I just played online for the first time a few hours ago. First turn mayhem and crashing everywhere! Made some friends that are clean racers though so I'm happy. :D

The club racing on RaceDepartment is very clean (I have only been racing AC online) partially because you must apply for a license (free) and use your real name (no hiding). There are club rules (take someone out - give them the place back, etc.) and mistakes still happen but if anyone is found to consistently not respect other drivers they loose their license, works very well. Unless you have a way to hold racers accountable, the idiots will ruin it for everyone else.

I tend to be extra cautious on turn 1, watch 2 people go hacking past. They will take 3 or 4 others with them, that is half the field clear.Not ideal but if you plan for it, then you give yourself a chance.

it's the people who just clearly don't use the brake at the end of a long straight that get me. I spot the perfect breaking zone, start to turn into the apex for a quick exit and WHAM! someone just slams into me at full speed. Gamer Over man!

Go for a full damage room, that'll sort them out ;)

You need to expect it to happen, not hope it wont. You might lose a little time, but not as much as gettin t-boned. This is the same for ALL racing games. In an ideal world you wouldn't need to this, but we don't live in an ideal world.

When starting from pole or near the front, I hug the extreme inside in the first turn so no one can divebomb me, works well most times.

We're already at 30 no? ;)

As stig says.

White = cleanest racer
Green = Good
Yellow = average
Orange = a bit aggressive
Red = Warning! Likes to crash....a lot..... like crazy amounts!

What influences the ratings , I presume if you don't crash into others, scenery or take shortcuts you're rating will improve, and if you do those things expect to take a tumble. Anything else that could cause a drop?

I presume that two cars battling side by side with contact will equally share some negative points, but hopefully an idiot t-boning will get full negative points and the person who gets shunted receives none. Is the system smart enough to tell the difference between aggressor and recipient.

Just don't be "The one to watch" that paints a massive target on your back. It'll calm down eventually.

I only have an hour or two with this game and only briefly went into the Multiplayer portion but I don't see open lobbies. It's not that I want to join an open lobby based on the expected experience but it's not clear how multiplayer works (open lobbies, own lobbies, etc.). It's too bad that I can't take advantage of the multiplayer portion of the game, other than the challenges, without putting up with the children/idiots.
Can password protected lobbies be created?

I have a theory that states gamers playing simulator-type racers (such as GT and Forza) have more driving skill in video games than players who play the more arcade-like games, like Need for Speed. Players with more skill would want to play games that require more skill and are more realistic than games like Need for Speed.

Grid and Dirt are games that have a mix of arcade and simulator elements, so players from both subgenres play Grid and Dirt. Thus, Grid has more "dirty" players than what most of us are used to.

The only disciplines I like right now in Autosport are Demolition Derby (where you are supposed to drive dirty), and lower-class Touring and Street, where if I get shunted off-track I can still recover. Anything else is hopeless unless you start on the pole and get far enough ahead to avoid the idiots.

@JMoney689 got it - I find about half-and-half of racers who drive clean and, not necessarily, dirty (maybe rough). On that big Touring binge with @wicken and @Silver-Sylph last night there were a number of races where everyone managed to get around the first few corners with only minor incidents 💡 But then that was counteracted by some morons who floored it into the first corner and took out half the field.

Has anyone else noticed the players that make out that they're going to divebomb into the first corner, then reset their car at the last second so that they can ghost through the ensuing carnage?

I pretty much exclusively run Touring at the moment since thats what alot of people here are racing and im very fast with all the cars, might start running Enduro though. We need to get a full lobby of GTP guys together are that should be a pretty awesome racing.

I have just the avenue for that.

That rating system doesn't work well. It rewards brake-checking. Annoying. I ended one race with orange, the guy brake-checking got white. A 15 minute argument followed. I got him kicked, and then left.

The game is brand new. How do you know he just wasn't familiar with the course? People must think I'm brake checking all the time then.

I was lucky enough to end up in this room tonight. A full grid of whites!:cheers:. It was so good I ended up staying a lot longer than I intended.

Shadows disciple is a great guy to race with.

The one who was brake checking admitted that he was doing it intentionally via those microphones you hate so much. I fully understand why you dislike them, now.

The second you say "I'm on your left side," they turn to your left.

I had one guy screaming and ranting because he couldn't get past me....... surely that's the whole concept of racing? Be the guy in the lead.....don't let the others pass.....win! I was racing the racing line and I wasn't swerving or pulling across in front of him or break checking..... just making my car wide. Race craft.... :P
