Group C?

As you can tell from my username, i am a huge HUGE fan of Group C Endurance racing from the 1980's and early 90's. GT4 looks promising for these cars, but i would just like some to be confirmed if they are in the game.

These ones i know will be in GT4:
Sauber Mercedes C9
Mazda 787B

These ones i have heard of being in GT4, can anyone confirm them?:
Peugeot 905
Mazda 757
Jaguar XJR9-LM
Sauber Mercedes C11

Mommy said I have a headache and need to take a nap. Sorry, I can't help you.

Aw, the heck with it; click on the car list thread above.

Is the C9 the LM car with a rear wing that looks like to aeroplane wings stuck togeather?

the C9 is in (Sauber-Merc),the Nissan's are in,an THERE WILL BE an TS010 (The Toyota TOM'S).

It wouldn't be logical if they do Nissans,Mazda's and then no Toyota <-<

from what I know the 787b is in and also the C9
and I dont think the 905 since I havent heard **** of that car being in and 757 I dont see any reason for putting in that car when the 787b is in and the jag and merc I dont know also the TS010 I havent heard **** on that one to :dunce:
I dont think it will be in and if theres an old Toyota in I think that it will be the 90C-V why I think that I dont know either..but I really hope that they include as many of these machines as possible and also from JSPC those were killer cars man!!
Nice to see an Gruop C nerd aswell here! :)
have you cheked out this mod??Virtual LM

Yeah it was.

I don't think it did that well at Le Mans in 89 though. The picture of the Sauber Merc C9 Zoxxy posted, no.61, came 2nd in 89, with sister car 63 winning.

The C11 was fast too running 1-2-3 for some of the 1991 race, and leading until a couple of hours from the end. Young Schumacher set an astonishing pace, but then that C11 ran into engine trouble, and unbelievably the other two pulled out with engine failures, leaving Herbert, Weidler and Gachot's relatively slow but reliable Mazda 787B through to win.

However I would be surprised if they included the C11 as well as the C9. It's possible, but unlikely. I mean, the Nissan R89C and R390 took 2 games to be released. The C11 would probably be included in a future GT game if we get one.

Wow, thanks guys. I completely forgot about the Nissan R89C, i know that will be included from the screenshots. I really really hope you're right about the Jag XJR9 being in the game because its such a beautiful car. (By the way, the XJR9 pic above is the sprint type car, this is the LM car):

And the TS010 aswell, another one of my favourites, especially in the blue casio livery, this is the team tom's livery mentioned:

If there are anymore please let me know.

Thanks.

No way!!! are they really putting in an TS010??
I also think that the #33 car with Casio livery is nicer also it did came second at Le Mans so I think they Include that one but hey who am I to tell again :dunce:

Well the TS020 finished second at Le Mans and the put that in the game, why not a TS010 if that finished second aswell. It sounds like the TS010 is a bit of a rumour though.

The TS010 looks amazing. I had never seen pics of the mazda 757 before, it looks similar to the porsche 962, is it based on the same chassis. Btw i think there was talk of the Mazda 767 being in there also, but i cant confirm.

The Porsche 956/962 was so successful, i'm sure that Mazda copied it as a way of producing a decent GroupC car 'out-of-the-box'

Your probably right, i dont care just as long as its another group c car in the game, lets get the jags in there now.
The further delays should put more pressure on PD to release more screenshots, certainly wouldnt do them any harm to have the Jag LM's in there

 These cars are awesome. I can't wait to race them around the nords'.

Why don,t you get a copy of Electronic Arts challenge F1 game PC version and download the great mod "Prototype C " from the virtua lm website.
That'll keep you busy until the release of GT4

I just got the mod today.

Some people probably think it's silly to focus on the absolute fastest cars in GT4, when 90% (guess) of the cars are <500hp. But I really like driving the fast cars!

It's not like I don't drive the lower-end cars anyway. I got all gold licenses in GT3 and that meant a lot of driving low powered cars. I expect to do the same in GT4. After all, low powered cars teach you a lot about the effect of taking different lines and how to maintain a high speed throughout the corner while driving smoothly. Essential for being fast in lower end cars, it also helps in higher end cars, even if it isn't so important.

I've heard of a C-license. Does this have anything to do with class C? Or is it just a rubbish license that comes before B?

As my American ally said, I've been in contact with Jaguar in Coventry and as far as they are concerned the 1988 Le Mans winner is in. Here she is. I have a particular interest in this car as I was lucky enough to see car number 2 win the 1988 Le Mans 24 hour race.

The C-License doesn't have anything to do with Group C Racing, its simply the name of one of the licenses you have to aquire;these are the A License, B License, C License, Special License and Rally License on GT3.

Cerbman1 - Glad to hear that the XJR9 is in, hopefully there will be some screenshots of it soon,
