GT 4 Available in Europe

I may be a newbie to this forum but this information is rock solid as I've just had a telephone call from the store manager. (Game - UK)
Anybody who lives near the Trafford Centre (Manchester UK) Should get their asses their tonight at midnight as it will be open and selling copies of GT4.

This is great news for me as I live round the corner from there, but the problem is I've got to get up at 7am for a long days work tomorrow.....
...Oh well, Plenty of coffee for me in the morning then :)

You guys are so lucky, Bol.com says 9 th of march but i still haven't got a send e-mail, wich says "Item will be delivered in 2 days"(by wich i always get the game the next day) while it is already for sale in the freaking Toystore called Bart Smit
 
AHAHAHHA i got my GT4 from choices video/game rentals. £35.99
Now off to play and now I dont care if I get banned on this thing no more.(I shall review this comment in the next 24 hrs).

Why banned? it's not yo're fault you are totally addicted to GT4 after 4 years of waiting.
 
I just picked this up and started playing on my PS2 (new thin model).

Unfortunately they seem to have removed the HDTV options (480p and 1080i) that the americans etc. have as I cannot see them anywhere nor any reference in the manual. Do they not realise (some) people have HDTV in europe? Why do work to remove it?

Or am I missing it and the options are tucked away in some menu I haven't yet found that someone can point me to?

Still working my way through the license tests....
 
Well I'm pretty furious, customers that bought online in the UK from game.com have all received theirs today (all the ones I know anyway) yet I do not even have a dispatch confirmation from Special Reserve. If it isnt here tomorrow when I get home, I am going straight out, buying it in Blockbusters, and SR can have their copy back and consider it my last ever order from them.... Grrr. :grumpy:

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times: Pre-ordering, especially on-line, is a total waste of time. All people do is panic when it doesn't look like they are going to get the game.

Just buy the freakin' thing on launch day and be happy...
 
Here in Belgium the lady at the counter said that they got a call with the approval to sell it today instead of tomorrow!

Lucky me that i checked anyway.....

Now my wife wants to see her favourite tv series, but after that ............GT4

Gonna be racing with my ghetto rig for a few hours when I get back, I have college tomorrow and thursday :(

I'm in the same situation as you. I pre-ordered it from SpecialReserve in late 2003 and haven't had a confirmation email from them regarding GT4 yet. Order status is still "Item On Back Order", so I'm not sure what to make of the situation. Don't know if it's because they haven't got GT4 in yet or because they haven't updated the order status. When I got the network adaptor from them, it was delivered and in my hands when the order status was still on "Checking payment" (or something to that effect).

Anyway, if I don't get it 'til Thursday or Friday I won't be too annoyed; I have a systems analysis project to be done for uni due on friday, so I don't need any more distractions :indiff:

Special Reserve used to be good a few years back, but from what I've heard, alot of people have been having late delivery and poor service :(
 
i got mine today but dammit, i need to do coursework and im practically at gun point until it finished, cant play tonight in other words, and i have a detention after school tomorrow so thats more waiting :grumpy:

My gt4 uk pal version dropped through my door this morning from gameplay.co.uk the wait is over :) :) :) :)
 
I have it!!!!!!

a friend called me and said they had a monster delivery of GT4 games. I was on the bus when he called me and I couldn't wait to get it.... gotta go and race now :)

Sweet, could you confirm something for me about the music?

Apparently the PAL version has the Japanese/US and EU music tracks... is this true?

I didn't like the music selection on the US version, I'd rather listen to the japanese soundtrack.

I pre-ordered my copy last week. They posted it yesterday and today I found a note from Postman Pat in my mailbox that I can retrive my parcel at the postoffice. I could be playing GT4 today, if only someone was home. :grumpy:

Fred - and every other portuguese user of these boards - if you live in Lisbon, you can buy the game at the "El Corte Ingles" store at midnight tonight. They'll have a special ministore outside the main entrance (they should be closed by midnight) to sell it to the fans.

And to the lucky ones that pre-ordered (like me) and to the others until they run out of stock, they will offer a GT4 watch! Should be a lousy wannabe "swatch" watch, but it'll be someday a collector's item.

I see you are offline, but I hope you'll read this before midnight.

I'll have a long night playing ... :D

Ja, echt ruk hier, ik heb nog niks van Bol.Com gehoord, en ze hebben me net een sverteld dat ik 7 weken mag gaan wachten op mijn Max Drive!!!,terwijl er al mensen zijn die vanochtend bij de Bart Smit er een hebben gekregen, echt goed hoor Pre order, wat is dat nou voor iets raars, die gasten hebben gelijk pre order is klote.

I was talking to the manager and they had stock since Thursday last week!

I was under the impression that it wouldn't be on sale untill tomorrow. So I quickly phoned the shop and managed to get over there just before closing time! Just been playing for a few hours, and man, its a sweet deal.

My experience with pre-orders like that are the reason why I don't do pre-orders anymore. You won't get it first, store owners will sell your copy if they can even if it means you have to wait longer. The only idea behind pre-orders is that you have the idea you'll be getting it as soon as possible, while for them it just means that they captured a customer who will not run to another store anymore.
