Hi Guys! I finally completed the LeMans 24 Hours Race in the Power Pack section and collected 12 million credits for my efforts. I think that 500K per hour is quite low, this is clearly not the way to grind for credits.
Here are the numbers:
I completed 446 laps, at least 30 pit stops, over 6000kms (3800miles), used about 3000litres of fuel, drove consistently 15 laps on every fuel tank and fastest lap of 3:03:218.
This is quite a good race to do based on the fact that the LeMans course is without chicane and without track limits. Considering that more than half the lap is on 2 straight lines linked by a 90 degrees right turn, it is quite easy on the body. During that time, you only need to hang on to the steering wheel. The car you choose might not be the fastest one on the straightaways but you can make the time up in the other part of the course with all the curves, the competitors are not the quickest. An average lap time is about 3:10 so any lap quicker than that will catch you up to the leader or take you further in the lead.
The only rain I encountered was in hour 3 and 4, otherwise completely dry. In hour 2 and 3, it consistently looked like it would rain. I had the weather radar on wide scope and missed the details when every cars behind me pulled into the pits for rain tires and by the time I hit the Dunlop curve, I had slid off track and went a lap down dragging my car slowly back to the pits.
Can anyone win this race? I believe so. The first 8 hours were very competitive and at the end of that time, I ended up with 6 of the 19 other competitors on the lead lap. In the next 8 hours, the competitors started to short fill their fuel tank to 90%, then 80% and so on. In the last hour, not one competitor crossed the finish line on track, they were pitting on every lap and adding only 3-5% and just enough fuel to complete the next lap.
If you want to attempt this race and would like more information, do not hesitate to contact me.
