Use the rules to your advantage is what I have been told all through my life! People are doing the same here. Ask any Patriots fan if the hate Bill Belichick because he cheated? Most will say they didn't like it but boy was it fun to WIN!

You answer the question to our problems with politicians! He didn't break the rules, he just bended them slightly. Is it wrong? Yea.. but is it allowed? Well, yea..

This goes to show the type of people all of us are by the actions we take, I choose to do what I know is right and what would be respected by in the motorsports industry. What you do could be respected in ways, finding the fastest time yes.. But we're both doing that.

There's always a better way. Isn't that what everyone is trying to say here? They conformed, I would find a better way.

Now you've got it... Thats all I'm saying. Off the track, over the wall, through the side gate - it's a video game... If it gets me in the seat of a real race car for a real GT4 team than so be it...

Well, as I said, I don't follow the leader very often and this will be one of those cases. I believe it is morally wrong and refuse to do it. End of story.

Edit: and don't start with the "you won't win then, blah, blah" cause I've heard it enough.

I believe the ol' cliche goes something like..."The best leaders are also the best followers."

First of all, my internet will not be activated until tonight. Second, I am at work, unlike some people. Don't spout nonsense unless you know the facts.

Honestly man, regardless of where you work or what you do, I highly doubt any employer would be anywhere close to pleased about using work time (and likely resources) to express your beliefs on a video game forum...unless you happen to work for PD, Sony, or yourself.

My point, "just 'cause you can share your opinion on internet forums while at work, doesn't mean you should...as most folks cutting paychecks would likely view that practice as "morally wrong".

Turbo, if you want to truly end the story, please quit trying to force your opinions/beliefs/feelings/thoughts/morals and your definitions of "morally wrong" onto those that don't agree with you.

Everyone knows where you stand, everyone knows you have a wealth of experience real life racing, everyone knows you are familiar with real life racing standard rules, everyone knows that you are apparently a quick enough driver (I've never raced with you or seen your times in GT5, hence "apparently")...end of story.

Seeing that I'm still being moderated and my posts aren't showing for quite some time...one last quick Jack Handy-ish thought to ponder yet again...In the US, beef is a staple in most households; however, other cultures perceive cows to be sacred animals and do not eat them because they view it as "morally wrong". So, who's actually "right" and "wrong" here?

Per your example of the cars. Not the track deal...

I still get plenty of work done, thank you. And this is none of your business.

I'm not forcing anything on to anybody. I'm telling you I think it's wrong, you are disagreeing with me, and we're arguing both of our sides. This is far from a friendly conversation anymore and if I had my way, this thread would have been locked long ago.

I would put my skills in a real vehicle over my gaming skills any day. I don't hold a track record on my old home course because I suck.

It depends on what culture you are from. In this case, we are at GTPlanet, where the discussion is about racing, not beef. And according to GTP's OLR what is being done by some, taking more than 2 wheels off the track or anything that goes against the spirit of the competition, is wrong.

LOL, none of my business? According to your beliefs?

Maybe if you stopped worrying about knowing and dictating the business of everyone else, this thread would not have decayed to the point it is now.

Oh, and you stating "I still get plenty of work done..." dangerously borders on hypocrisy. Unless you solely post during your own time (i.e. before work, breaks, lunch, etc...), no matter how much work you get done, quite a view employers would still view that practice as "morally wrong"...no matter what you believe. That's similar to responding to your beliefs about the OP with "I'm still racing over the grass."

Allow me to apologize if I misrepresented my posting as "friendly conversation", I was simply expressing my opinion...as have others, including yourself, over the last 11 pages of this thread.

Also, I'm not "arguing" anything, primarily because I personally don't agree with the cutting and do think it is "morally wrong" based on my individual beliefs, but I still don't view it as cheating in this scenario. Again, I'm simply stating my opinion, you're free to do what you'd like with it, and you are choosing to respond.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did I imply let alone state you "suck"? Only reason I used the word "apparently" is because I don't like to assume, so I apologize if you feel your talent was questioned in that statement.

If it's none of our business, why did you post it? And if you would of had this thread locked long ago, why do you continue to post in it?

No, it's just straight up none of your business. Now drop it.

So you agree with me. Then why are we having this conversation?

Why did I post? Cause he brought it up. Duh.

And I continue to post in here because I can. And until it's locked, I will.

Is it ok to use the ghost? Because i have never seen a ghost kart in front of me IRL. So anyone using the ghost is cheating? I don't use it!
1600 get back to work! Stop milking your employer.

Why not use Senna, he was a ruthless racer. Even when he was given a ride to the pits by Mansell he was looking at the gauges to see what gearing he had and so forth.

I'm fedup with the guys being faster than I. It just grinds my gears when I just can't beat 'em.

That's just adding fuel to the fire. I already told you I had no problem with you, so why are you defending the issue?

I'm defending it because I would do anything to make the top 128. If taking the lawnmower route meant the difference between going to round 2 or killing my dream. I will take the john deere route.

And I don't blame anyone for doing it either, as I know I'm not the only person out there with some talent, no connections, or money to go racing.

LMAO, ok dad, it's dropped...is the chip off your shoulder now?...couldn't be easy to drive with it there all the time.

Anyway, I am indeed done with you in this thread, because now it's just about pride for you at this point...good luck in the comp bud, hopefully you are able to achieve your desired results while maintaining your personal integrity.

If you're struggling for Top 128 using every exploit available, what makes you think you'll make Top 8 in your region? Highly doubtful, just sayin'.

Atleast he can be mature about this and doesn't start each and everyone of his replies with LOL, or LMAO like you do. It shows a blatant disregard for what he has said like you don't even read and or care about what he has said. If you were to actually be mature about it you would see he is making a perfectly reasonable arguement. Your's might have been too had you been like this. But seeing as you don't (along with the people on your side) I've taken his side as I can now say his is the more mature, well thought-through one.

I never said it was about pride. What's with people putting words in my mouth.

It's what people do when they know they've been defeated.

I have to say though, you should contact a mod and request this thread to be closed as others have taken this too far.

Wow man, you really do believe what you want to believe don't you?...I didn't put any words in your mouth, brain, or computer in my post. Again, please remove the chip from your shoulder that evidently grew fingers and is typing your posts for you, that's just not healthy.

The statement about pride was completely derived from my own assessment of the situation.

I'd be happy if the competition ends up with some hard-fought, solid drivers battling for the prize...as I believe it will. Though until the prize is awarded, my own main belief is all should have an amazing time with this great opportunity that has been given, and use a positive mind frame to offer constructive criticism and areas of improvement to the devs and sponsors for future rounds or competitions. In other words, have even the most potentially frustrating community/user concerns be voiced from a place of gratitude.

Thanks man, I already have. This is a two sided argument that is just going to go back and forth, and end up with a thread full of bickering that doesn't belong on this forum.

Just an observation, but for Turbo, maybe you also should take to your own advice and drop it. But thats all up to you.

And I continue to post in here because I can. And until it's locked, I will.

Cause just because you can doesnt mean you should. :sly:

I think it's safe to say he was all for dropping it, but I think, because of the way BlackIce responded to him eachtime, he felt he had too. I know I would. I just can't stand that type of rebuttal really, just gets me annoyed.
