Ok, so with the GT5 Demo and Time Trial Challenge just off in the distance, I figured we could use a little practice as a warm up. In GT5:P, we don't have the track or the cars, this is as close as I could come. So here is the challenge...

Time Trial @ Suzuka Circuit

Cars / Tires:
1. 2007 Nissan Fairlady Z S Version / Normal N3
2. Gran Turismo 350Z RS / Sport S2

No tuning. Must use the cars in default settings. No drivers aids. Manual transmission. No traction control. Active steering off. Professional driving physics. Simulation steering. Driving line is optional.

Best Combined Lap times (1 lap for each car). List your lap time for each car and your total time.

Save your videos as proof!

I'll post (an easily beatable) first time. Excuses first! :) I haven't played in some time, didn't have either of the cars in my garage, and have actually never done a time trial in GT5:P (as evident in the image).

Ok, my times...
1. GT 350Z RS - 2'24.311
2. 07 Fairlady Z - 2'39.824
Total time: 5'04.135 or 304.135 seconds

Here's a quick shot at it. I could probably take some time off of each one, but considering I am using the Sixaxis controller, I'm a bit sketchy with the N3 tires.

1. GT 350Z RS - 2'16.181
2. 07 Fairlady Z - 2'32.713

Both ghost replays saved.

On spanish playstation forum we had exactly the same idea, but remember last edition you had to use N1 tyres.

Yeah, I'm not good at all on "N" tires with a controller. Requires a lot of finesse that a controller just can't give you.

The problem for me on the National Final it was the other way round.
After 9 weeks driving on N1 they made us use S2 , same car same circuit and it took me too long to realize i could drive faster becausse of the better grip.

i only tried the 350Z RS, but i managed about a 2.16.3 with controller

I'm coming after you R1600turbo!! lol

Ooh lots of work for me.
Did a quick try.Can proberbly get 2 sec faster.But wont catch R1600 :P

Really hard does N tyres with the pad with buttons.
Pad not really for smooth driving for me,think a wheel is easier.
Hard to control the power out of a corner, ill work on it.

RS 2.17.282
Z 2.34.997
Total off 4.52279. need 2-3 sec off.

i like healthy competition, makes us push harder.

I'll definitely give it a shot tonight.

There's a few players on there and the PS forums that can vouch for my driving skills with the controller. :)👍

I tried. I failed.

Got it down to a 2:16.009 and just gave up after 8 laps. Didn't even bother saving the ghost replay.

I had a go at this just before  and i hadn't even read this thread

Spent 20 minutes and got a clean run placing me 43rd in the RS

Very nice car to drive i wonder how the 370 will differ....

2'14.364 - GT 350z
2'21.861 - Fairlady (edit: just realized this was with wrong tyres)

Times are on leaderboards.

I bought GT5P last Friday and heard about the competition so I got a GT Driving Force wheel on Monday and started practicing everyday. I'm very happy with my progress so far. Can't wait for the demo, I'm gonna give it my all!

Total time: 4'49.096 or 289.096 seconds

plenty of room for improvement...I hope!
