GT Car Owners=Guys or Gals have cars that are in GT

Does GT4 capture the essense of your ride? Is GT4 realistic enough to convince you that you are driving your car while playing game? Or does GT4 just totally suck and made your rides drive like junk? Post your thoughts!

I have a civic EX which is matched in the game by the civic type r. I actually tried out the civic type R in arcade mode and knocked the HP down as close to my car as I could get it. Handling seems pretty much like my car but since I don't often race my car at breakneck speeds its hard to tell.

Well, I own 2 87 MR2s, and driven some others, and I will say the game does capture the feel of the car... its twitchy nature and not so driver friendly handling tendencies (snap oversteer anyone?)

Now, if only it could be the living hell outta me like my tuned MR2 does in real life... then it would be perfect :dopey:

hahaha your cars performance is no where near a CTR.

I will only tell you about two of the cars I have that are in the game not all of them.

350Z sounds it does not quite match pretty close, stock tires are as crappy as real life stock tires. It is a bit faster in the game then in real life. The handling and the graphic of the car are almost perfect to the real thing.

S2000 sound just like it in the game. it is pretty good on those skinny tires in real life that is not the case. handles better in the game then in real life you can barely get it to over steer in the game. The graphic are right on the money down to the bars in the convert top. Even the lil gray square piece that most people can see through the front grill.

BTW you even have to beat the hell out of the S2K in the game to get to go fast just like in real life.

I just tested a Type R with my friend. We accelerated from 80km/h to 120km/h and it went that in 5:08 seconds. As I tried it in GT4 I got it from 80 to 120 in 4:77 seconds. The Civic in GT4 weights about 70 kg less than the real civic I was driving.

I built my Miata in the game as close as I could get it power and suspension wise. It seems pretty on, but nothing can ever compare to the real thing.

I own an RX-8 and it feels pretty much the same except for a few details like torque for example. In the game the car has more torque than in real life. The real RX-8 doesn't have much low-end torque but in GT4 it doesn't have that problem. The engine sound is also slightly different than in my car. There are some more minor details but as for everything else it's spot on especially in the handling.

i own a 89 240 sx, but for some reason they called my year which body style is s13 usdm 89 to 93 a 1996, and they also gave is kouki back lights, like a jdm 180sx and sileighty

but other then that, it rather nice, suspenstion is way better stock thoug

WEll, about your 240SX... it has a KA24SE engine, instead of the SR20DET... about 90 HP difference I think...

Go look at a Silvia.. that is probably what you have for a body style... still different engines though from the JDM one to the USDM one..

I have owned three 4th generation preludes, one of them a VTEC.

The car is a very close match in the game, except for a few things....

- there is much more wheel spin from a dead stop in the game then in real life... infact, with an LSD & S3 tires in the game, there is more then with an open differential & road tires in real life.

- the rear inside tire does not lift off the ground in a corner when the suspension is modified in the game as it does in real life, but that goes for all cars in the game, so its not really an error in the car itself

-the torque curve doesn't really match - there should be more punch in the midrange, especially between 5000-6000 RPM, but not quite as much pull at redline. (VTEC engagement provides quite a kick in real life, but the power is dropping off quick at redline... with the stock cams at least). The VTEC engagement is weird in all hondas in the game - the torque spike is spread out over 1000 RPM or so in the game, where as in RL, there is a noticable vertical spike on the dyno.

Overall, I am impressed with the car in the game, but not with the suspension tuning results.

Hey, in real life I have a 2002 Subaru WRX wagon. In the game, the car similar to mine is the 2000 subaru wrx wagon Sti. I know my real car isnt the Sti, but the general characteristics of the two cars are the same. The main thing, besides perfect graphics, in the game is the acceleration traits are the same. In real life, the WRX is blazingly quick off the line, as is the STi and becomes painfully slow in 4th + gear. The case is the same in the game. Another thing i found similar was the turbo in 1st gear. My turbo can really be felt around 5k rpm, as it spools up at 3. In gt4, the developers seemed to have nailed this well.

peace

I own an 88 RX-7 Turbo II (10th Anniversary Edition for those who care :) ) and though my exact model isnt in the game, the RX-7 GT-Limited is close enough. Let me tell you, I was absolutely floored at how close to real life the driving dynamics of this car are. I autocross my real seven and all of the little quirks are here. The lag is the same, the slight understeer as you slam on your breaks to enter a corner is there, as well as the oversteer when you abruptly lift off throttle at the apex. A + 👍

i had a mini cooper S and the lemme just say i know its not fast, but it feels a lot faster in real life than in the game. ive taken it to autocrosses and its been a beast, beating boxters and s2000's. however, under those close turn circumstances, my mini handled a lot different than the one in the game. we would mess with the tire pressures as to induce oversteer, something you cant do in the game

I took an early 90's Honda NSX (1992, I think) and put against my 1993 NSX from Acura.

I tuned it very closed to mine. Powerwise, with suspension as well.

IT was ok, but the 0-60 of it was alot quicker than mine although it only had just a tiny bit more horsepower.

The handling was good, but it seemed to turn a bit sharper than mine.

All in all, sound was different, but I didn't put that against the game.
I felt like I could do a lot more with GT4 one, but that may because mine is a little more tuned in and out.

Both of my cars are in the game; my daily driven Volkswagen Rabbit GTi (1976 Golf I) and my restoration project 1969 Corvette Stingray are in.

My personal Rabbit is a Westmoreland, PA, U.S.A. built 1983 Rabbit GTi made for the states, so there are slight differences. My front end has the square headlights and the later tail light bars in the rear. I did the GTI Cup race in a Golf V and waited until I got the Mars Red Golf I, just like mine.

My Corvette is in resto-modification shape right now. Factory it came out LeMans Blue... it's now black. It will be going back to LeMans Blue. I've got the engine pulled and there's no exhaust system in the car, the gas tank needs to be installed, brakes need to be looked at, and I need to buy a cooling system.

I pulled the engine because the prior owner helped it die out. I'm currently building a 383 cubic inch stroker for it. The engine fan and fan shroud on the car were the incorrect ones so I figured I would take the time to upgrade to electric fans while the car is down. The 383 is getting full length hooker headers that feed into 2.5" pipes all the way back into Spin Tech mufflers and megaphone out to 3" tips; the car should sound phuking mean!

The car's body isn't correct either. The "tunnel back" rear upper deck (that's the rear deck in the game which is flat and has the small vertical rear window with the two vanes that go down the L and R sides) has been replaced on my car with the bubble window on Corvettes from 1978-1982. Don't worry, it's returning to the tunnel back rear upper deck one of these years. The little window in the tunnel back pops out and installs in a little carry tray behind the seats. With the t-tops off, the rear window out and the side windows rolled down, the car feels an awful lot like a convertible in terms of airflow, but without the convertible insurance premium. My front fenders have been replaced so I don't have the 4 vertical "shark gills" either. Mine has the 1970-1972 "egg crate" style vents currently. Those too are going back to stock one of these years.

I've got 295/50-15 size Firestone tires on all 4 corners; those are getting replaced in the long term with ZR-1 sized 275/45-17 up front and 315/35-17 in back. My "little" 383 stroker motor is really being built up cautiously with longetivity in mind. I only want good low & mid range power out of it. It's going to be "old standby" if you will. My real goal for the car, years down the road, is to put a carbureted and supercharged all aluminum LS6 (out of a C5 ZO6) in the car mated to a T-56 (0.74 / 0.50 5th and 6th gears) transmission and 4.56:1 rear gears. Power goals for that engine? At least 600 horsepower, with more torque than horsepower, and redlining the thing around 8000 RPM.

The Golf I is closer to my Rabbit than the Corvette in the game is to my real Corvette, so I can't really say how the two of those cars compare. The Golf I feels close.

Up untill about 3 months ago I owned a EG6 Si with a B16A SiRII and I recently compared it to the EG6 in Gt4, they got it pretty well, although the steering response seems to be slower in the game and much more body roll durring any kind of slalom, acceleration is fairly accurate but there is way to little wheel hop/spin in the game, which doesn't make sense considering the lack of wheel spin/hop should make for a faster car but other than that. Eh

My dads 71 Dodge Charger SuperBee Hemi , is no where near like in the game.
The car sounds like crap!! It would be nice if they could do something with the sound

Car kind of feels like a rock , which is sort of how it really handles

This car is weak!! They got the 4 speed and all , but man , this car just doesn't have the "oophh" to get goin!

Go to http://www.71superbee.com/ for more information on this beast!

E46 M3 here. Driven on racetracks during driving schools. The feel and power a very similar. I could drive the car and feel the limits fairly well. What is lacking in the sound is the bottom range of frequencies. It sounds much better on the inside in real life. Also the replays don't sound the same. From the outside the real thing sounds like an agry weedwacker in 1st and 2nd and sweetens up at higher speeds.

95 Protege, I used 02 Protege as the closest cousin... handles close, but not dead on. Acceleration is very close, I give it a 8/10...

GT4 has captured most japanese and european cars' essese, but the americans are way off except for the crossfire and new mustang

whats up everyone,i drive a civic hatch(ek)97 with a b18c1 swap(integra gsr motor 170 hp)with some other mods, jg throttle body, cold air intake, etc. So the horse power is close to the CTR,not exactly the same.It feels pretty close driving, but the only driving i have done thats close to racing in real life is some off ramps here and there at high speed, but thats going to change this summer.Track Time 👍

I own a '96 RX-7 RZ, and was pleasantly suprised at how exactly replicated the car was!! I love the fact that there is even the '95 version that looks identical apart from the rear lights - attention to detail or what!!
As for the handling and noise, well, I've never tried driving round the 'ring in mine, but it does seem a bit unstable at high speed in the game, unlike real life.... The sound however is pretty spot on, ie not much noise when standard from inside the car!! Exhaust note when tuned is good, I love it, so tempting to change my exhaust!!
See pics of my car:

The 69' Z28 was a real road course car. They seemed to go by the published factory engine specs, which GM admitted in later years they doctor'd for insurance reasons. The peak HP is way to low in the rpm band, these were short stroke, solid lifter screamers. The rpms should top out around 8000 from what I remember. Also the handling is way off. These cars had really stiff race ready suspensions off the showroom floor. Short of the more exotic cars like the 911, nothing handled like a Z28 in 1969.

While I have no experience with the GNX, I did have the similar, more common 87' GN. The HP again is off and does not accelerate as well as a GN did. One thing about the turbo buick cars, they all needed about 15 mins of adjustment to make them run MUCH faster than they rolled off the showroom. No added parts just a little adjustment to the wastegate. Also the breaks on this car were suspect. The powerbreak system on these cars were really stout. This wasn't grandpa's Buick. When modified, these cars commonly made 1000+ hp. I have even seen some 9 second street legal cars. My stock, retuned GN would run 12.8 in the 1/4. The GNX should be quicker.

The Corvettes I have driven in this game seem to have much sloppier handling than the real thing. The 96' grandsport, didnt even handle as well as a regular 96' vette. The body roll on the replay was insane, as was the nose diving when breaking. These people obviously have never driven a vette. I think PD spends to much time driving rice, and thinks everything handles like a Caddy if it has a curb weight of more than 3000 lbs.

Hi All,

I have a modified 1.6L NA6A MX5 with the following specs
Semi Racing Exhaust
Microtech ECU
Cams
Pod CAI
Dunlop Formula R DO1 Soft
Koni Adjustable shocks
King performance Springs
Slotted rotors 1.8L brakes
Competition pads
Brake Bias adjuster

Last year I set my car's suspension set up using Midfield on GT3, I gave my alignment specs from GT3 to my RL alignment dude and viola...I was able to improve my real life lap times by 0.5 seconds,

GT4 rocks as long as all drivers aids are switched off, what a PITA, once off there is virtually no difference in the driving experience except FEAR:scared: G Forces and FEAR :scared: (I've looped my MX5 2 170km/h....new undies time :-) )

I own a hyundai Tiburon and drove it in game.
Hmm i think its realstic enought.
But of course driving in real life and in game..is pretty different no matter how you put it.

I own this currently (gotta <3 SR20DE motors) '98 200SX SE-R:

1998_200SX_SE-R_Front.jpg

1998_200SX_SE-R_Rear.jpg

I paid $3k cash for it not $5,995. Thank god for hail damage. 👍

Since once again it was left out of a GT game I'm hugely aggrivated. But, I've owned a few cars in this game in real life my thoughts.

'93 3000GT VR4 closest thing is the '95, somehow it feels faster in real life stock.

'89 240SX coupe, the feel is somewhat similar to the '88 S13.

'90 305 Camaro, the 88 IROC Concept is rather off. But otherwise I'm at least glad it's in the game.

Well I have a 98 Holden Barina(its a Combo actually which is a kinda wagon/van hybrid) which is basially a Opel/Vauxhall Corsa. The closet in GT4 is of course the 01 Opel Corsa Comfort. It surprisingly had a few quirks between them for instance when taking off if you floor the corsa the front wheels will do a quick wheelspin much like my car. It also has the samish sounding exhaust ie. sounds a bit beefy for a 4 cyl hatch. Oh and the understeer lol

I drive a '97 Acura 2.2 CL. In the game, the CL's are set up with those killer 3.2 V6's, so my car isn't nearly as powerful; but the game does accurately recreate that god-awful, painful understeer...how I hate the understeer. I know, FF, of course the understeer....but still I hate it so...But yeah, I love's my CL other than that and I own the models of the CL in GT4.

I have a '71 Datsun 510 four door (same as the '69 Nissan Bluebird Deluxe). If you buy one used in the game and stick the "comfort" tires on it, it's a pretty close eqivalent to a well used 510. That is to say slow, lots of body roll, can be provoked to oversteer on sharp corners but really has to be pushed in stock configuaration with ~80hp.

Modified it's anybody's guess. Powerwise the Bluebird cannot be modded out to what a 510 with a basic engine swap can easily attain in real life, so that's a big disappointment. Suspensionwise my 510 has a setup similar to the FC suspension in GT (minus the rear height adjust) so it can be tailored to suit just about any driving style but the car in the game doesn't seem as willing to rotate. I need to convert my spring rates from lb/in to kg/mm sometime to see how accurate it could be.

I got the Panasports off of the Ginetta so that looks right on the car in the game, but my 510 is quite a bit lower than the one in the game. Plus it doesn't come in orange in the game. :grumpy:

I can't wait for someone to figure out hybrids in GT4 so I can do my CA18DET swap!
