exactly what i didn't like about the GTF... there is a small group of persons that think they are superior to everyone else, just because they met at a few GT Parties and they became friends... Basically, this small group (which i wont name, we know who they are...) are having fun together, Kenji and the admins would let them do and say whatever they wanted...

like the Harry Potter thread, where i said the actor playing it looked gay... Any of you remember who was on my ass the whole thread? Roofer and Spinz... If one of those "privileged" members would have said that, would it have ended up the same?

I say 🤬 all.... i'll go back on the GTF, and i'll simply ignore the threads put on by those 6 or 7 members... and if by any chance they are reading this, well 🤬 YOU GUYS!

Every human being is equal... there should not be any favorites in life.

ditto.

but come on, except for a bit of spelling, and a currency change (only from cdn$ to amr$) canada is basically the same country.

you can spend american money anywhere in canada, but canadian money is only good for like 40km south of the border.

that ditto was to z06's post, you slipped in you french punk :p

but i still agree, somewhat, but not fully... i have to disagree with atleast 50% of it.

Heh, I got banned for saying the admins suck. Once.

ROFL, pretty funny when you think about it.

you have to hand it to kenji though, he does alot of work on the forum, especially ninja-ing out the server parts.

i wanna know a thing though... what the **** was Gumball? I didn't read Spook's thread, it simply was too long...

I never joined gt.com, but i did participate in that picture vote page for a few weeks.

I'll be back to the forum. It was my first forum. I'll still come here though. Too bad granturismo.com doesn't have this many smiles.

No way I'm going back there. Maybe I'll go stealth to check out the Open Road or Arcade forums, but my posting days there are done (which is why I changed my username)...

It was my first forum too...

And I wholeheartedly AGREE with all that has been said here, about that place's "privileged" members...what a load of crap. These people treated many of us like ****, simply because they felt like it, and lacked respect for fellow members. The GTF degenerated into nothing more than a good ol boys club and I for one left that crap in high school where it belongs

In a way I was hoping that Kenji wouldn't be able to get his server components out of there, so that it would be gone for good! :rip:

Anyhow I like it here, think I'm gonna stay.

I'm glad it's almost back, I've had about enough of this museum.
I like the GTF for the shark codes, better than here it seems.

I'm going back. If everything is reset, and every starts at exactly the same level, I think everyone would enjoy it more. I didn't particularly enjoy the "holyer than thou" attitiude of all the guys that had been their 2 years or so. Yes, they have been frequenting the board for years, instead of weeks, but they weren't exactly welcoming towards others, which was uncalled for. It's like a school, you were the new kids in the first year, and the *other* members were the bullies in the 3rd year, who picked on the little, new kids, because they were afraid to pick on anyone their own size. I think it's got a lot to do with the meet ups. Being in the UK, they were few and far between. The only one I could have gone, Cuna didn't go, and a certain member we all know and love dearly (not) was the main character and organisor. I didn't bother with the Pit Stop much. I'd post in music threads, and theads started by people I know wouldn't rip to shreads what I said, but I did love the Open Road, arguments and all. It was a cool place, and there were some really knowledgable guys on there, that made in an interesting place.

I'd like it to be more car orientated, with maybe subforums for different kinds of car related topics. Saying that, the Open Road worked well as it was.

Can't wait for it to come back :)

Klostro. I never knew about how you got baned? Did you just say "admins suck" and got banned for that? heh.

...You think thats bad, you guys gotta see my room.. im tellin ya, you have probably never seen this many soda cans, and wires, equipment.. aie! There must be about 14 cords running across my room..im so misorganized..

Alot of it is just for graphical editing & website development.. oh, cant forget my ps stuff!!:eek:

In the Open Road, I really enjoyed myself, but I never really posted much in the Pit Stop, not because I didn't want to, it's just I didn't want to go through the process of being ripped to shreads, for what was my opinion.

It's probably my fault as well. When I joined up, I stayed in the OLR part for 3 or 4 months, then ventured into the Pit and Open Road. I never really made much of an effort to join in, so maybe that's why I never really had the confidence to say anything, because most wouldn't know who I was, or what I was about.

When gt.com I had been there for just over a year, and hit 1400 posts. I'd say about 50-75 of those, we're probably in the pit, and no doubt contained "yeah. I agree" or words to that effect.

This time round, I'll try play more of a part in the pit, that is if it is still going to be there. I'm a member of a forum, which has some of the guys that left gt.com earlier on there, so if some of them come back, I'll probably feel more able to post what I want.

Bah.

I'm probably being harsh. The few members (it wasn't all of the old members. It's just the odd one or two) that I found unkind, are most likely cool people, who, if I'd played more of a part in the whole thing, I'd have found to be nice people, just having a laugh.

As all my reports from school said....Must try harder.

Well I'll be staying here for the most part. I may check out the old track forum but I'm sure we can have sportscar racing discussions here too ;)

Basically I agree with what a lot of the others have said about the 'in crowd'.

[Rant] Now I'm not saying that I'm a prude or anything but I don't need to read posts by adults acting like children and thinking that swearing is cool. Sure the occasional swear word can be very effective in expressing how you feel but when used all the time it loses something. Any this is what the numbers forum seems to be like (no filters etc.) and I guess a lot of the 'in crowd' like it that way and I'm sure they would like to have the GTF be more like that. [/Rant]

The pitstop was becoming too much of a minefield. Someone would say something, someone else would get offended, someone else would pick a fight with the person that got offended, someone else would pick a fight the person who picked the fight, etc. And it seemed if you weren't part of the 'in crowd' your posts didn't seem to matter.

So here I'll stay and if anyone wnats to talk sportscar racing I'll be in the Other Racing forum :)

thats why i do, and have always tried to make new members feel welcome, even if i've only been there since july.

I'll visit the Open Road too. You know that without me that place would crash. :D So I gotta do my job and keep it alive.

yeah so we can argue with other members about ricers... can't wait

My opinion is that most of the problems were Pit related. I also posted mostly in other places, but from time to time, did go by the Pit. Unfortunately, when you get over 10,000 members, problems will happen. What made the pit great, also made it a problem.

While some of you will see me as part of the 'establishment', I don't really consider myself to be, as I never really had conversations with most of those people I considered to be problems causers.

Re; The B&G incident. The B&G began life as a place to discuss racing the Grand Prix Legends game. Somehow it grew, and the bottom line is that some people said things about other people, and the other people found out and a battle ensued. The feelings in the Pit went downhill from there.

Paul - it is Paul isn't it? Klos.. I don't think you were banned, I thought you were temporarily suspended.. but I am blonde and my memory could be off. With these situations there is always more than meets the eye.

I think it suffices to say that we all know who some of the problem people were at GTF... we might agree/disagree on a couple, but the core theme would probably be about the same. I e-mailed Kenji with my thoughts, no names mentioned, and stated what I thought was my feelings... FWIW. I suggest you do the same.

I find it regrettable that people feel a need to name people here, we know who you are talking about without the names, and naming people will just further the problems. While this is a little community unto itself, and a nice one I have been a member of for a little while. The whole GT community is much smaller than you would think, and B&G proved this. When naming people as such and such, then be prepared that they will find out what you have said, because they will. If you are not prepared to say something to someones face, don't bother saying it at all.

I am taking a wait and see approach with the Pit, if the same behaviour is tolerated, I'll chat in other places. Otherwise, it is still my opinion that the GTF has the best OLR section on the net, and great resources in GT2, GT3, shark codes.. and some interesting and suprisingly polite conversation in the Open Road, and the Race Track (at least compared to other places).
