Roflmao, it's like in the darkest dark age.

Where they armed with pitchforks?

Btw. who sued who & for what?

LOL :D No but she had a pretty big handbag :). Probably should'nt have spoken to my sister in french, that gave us away. Our car was towed away that night though, but that might have been because we were parking where it's not allowed :)

I'm not sure if the city of Siena actually went to court against PD to get everything related to the city out of the game (intelectual property and so on), but that's the basis on which Siena got itself out of the game, by not allowing PD to market its game with the aid of the city.

When SONY destroyed the SEGA Saturn and Dreamcast.

Sony didn't distroy the Dreamcast it was EA ,do your research (there weren't any EA titles for it)

back on topic EA's Prosche lic expires in 2012 maybe we'll see some Porsche DLC for both games and Porsches in future games if Porsche smarten ups and not renew the lic with EA exclusively but.

Okay Mr Uppity, it was both. ;) I was in the thick of reading up on the pre-launch battles of all the consoles, and SONY made an exclusive deal with EA, at least as far as the then-to-be-released PS2 and Dreamcast. But I'm unaware of Ninty getting anything from EA either, at least until the DC was dead and buried.

If we can't have Porshkers, why do they give us VWs? Historically they are the same?
Perhaps the people at Forza and GT actually chose not to include them, for their own reasons - financial or otherwise.

Historically doesn't mean a thing. Kaz & Dan have both expressed interest in getting Porsche for their games, but could not do so due to licensing agreements; i.e EA.

Who says NFS sucks horrifically? IMO, they're awesome. Who ever said a racer has to be realitsic to be awesome? So please, STFU :P

Everyone do. And you know why? Because EA is marketing their newest NFS products as realistic racers to compete with GT and Forza.

NFS used to be awesome. For me, NFSU2 defined the series, but then EA changed their mind about street racing and jumped the sim-racing boat - or at least that's what they're saying.

That says a lot considering it was sports/exotic car racing that defined the series, not that Fast & Furious crap that spewed after Hot Pursuit 2.

Mindless flame-baiting won't be tolerated here.

I wont buy a Need for Speed or any EA racing game that has Porsche again aslong they dont share the license with Turn10 atleast (and hopefully PD).
I like Need for Speed saga and Shift but i wont tolerate this thing, i want Porsches in other games, specially in Forza since they have been since the first trailer.

Wow no Porsche cars in F4 either?
They may produce fantastic cars but they seriously lack on licensing their brand to game companies.

*Scratches head*

As far as I understand is more down to Porsche to decide who will give the license to who, I hearing a lot of this "boycott" thing about this but meh, they don't work, and this one is no exception you see:

>It requires you to stop buying the products of the company that makes the game(either EA games or Porsches(laughs)).
>It requires also an organized petition and proper media attention, which doesn't have and will not have in the upcoming months because of the recent boycotts against Origin and BF3.
>It requires a lot of people, at least +5000 to gain enough notoriety, as far as I can see they have only managed to get around 400-500 signatures, which means that it will take plenty of time and organization to gather enough people to make the boycott effective.

I seriously doubt that people will stop buying BF3 because of an unrelated boycott, the same can be said about NFS The Run, the market for that game is very different, and not being the same market makes this task even harder.

Conclusion, boycott Shift, and even so its unknown which part has more to do with this, I say Porsche but I don't known who controls these licenses and how the licensing works for these games.

Hopefully Porsche don't resign again.

I have to say, Forza does look good. The filter they use on the graphics looks really nice. Especially when looking at the surroundings. The cars aren't up to the level op GT5's premiums. But overall it's quite a looker.

There is one thing I dont like about what I have seen so far. The accuracy of the tracks is a bit off. I saw how they rendered Hockenheim, but it just felt fake... And don't get me started on the Nurburgring. The elavation changes aren't accurate at all.

I have GT5 but i can say that Forza 4 is going to be alot better.

If you both took the trouble of actually reading the opening post (something worth doing before reacting in any thread to keep it relevant to the subject it's aimed to discuss) you'd know this thread (despite what the rather misleading title suggests) isn't actually about Forza or GT but both these games lacking a certain Stuttgart based manufacturer.
