GT Force

I'm thinking about getting the GT Force wheel (the blue logitech one). Does this wheel work on PC and PS2? and if not do you know of any that do? thanks

If it's the GT Force (as opposed to the Driving Force, which has the PS2 controls on the face of the wheel), then yes it is. I have a GT Force and use it quite a lot on both the PS2 and the PC.

If you buy it, go to the Logitech website and download the software for it (it's actually a Wingman Formula Force GP in a blue dress) - Windows will recognise it via 'Plug n Play' so you can use it straight off the bat, but the Logitech software will let you tailor the steering effort and forcefeedback.

My friend got one with his playstation and it is only capable of 75% braking so be careful not to buy that one!

Well the braking sucks, and when you watch the replay the red bar only goes up about 75% when you mash the pedal, and on a certain website he found out that it only brakes at 75%! For $20 he can get it fixed so he just put the wheel under his bed! I would've fixed it though!

But you can adjust the braking calibration so that you get 100% braking in the game options....

It has descriptions of various Logitech force feedback wheels and their problems.

I personally have owned both the Driving Force (the current "official" PS2 wheel that has buttons on the steering wheel) and the Formula Force which is the red colored one that is intended for PCs. I much prefer the Formula Force. It works like a charm. I saw both the 75% braking problem (btw, it is not possible to get it to go away by calibrating) and the shifting problem when the wheel was at full lock. On both wheels, I occasionally see the wheels stop responding (but only in GT3).

If you're looking around, I'd suggest eBay. You can find refurbished wheels of all types (including the GT Force).

So it's just an error on the wheel and can defiantely be re-calibrated? :spin:

Do people find their times increase or decrease using the wheel :clock:
