My friend just bought the real 2012 Nissan GT-R and holy crap THAT THING IS A BEAST!!!!! We tested it and the 0-60 time was 2.9 seconds. I think I have a pinched nerve in my neck. He also has a 2008 Nissan GT-R that he's had some work done on (since he bought the 2012) and that thing will sprint from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds.

You must have a rich "friend"

Wonder if Roddskis friend knew there was a free upgrade to current engine spec provided by Nissan for people that own older model R35's.

Guys... I wonder if somebody has thought what JC has said about 1st gen R35. Nissan claimed 480HP and in US some people who bought and dyno-tested it got 530HP. So, Nissan reduces official power to impress us more. Sure it's very impressive either way, but it's almost sure that 2012 model has 600HP when driven for some distance in order to acheive -3sec 0-60mph. Physics never fail you know.

Actually, JC also said that each GT-R engine was put together by hand (or made by hand, can't remember) but that means that one GT-R may have less than the claimed BHP while others may have more. Not sure if the new GT-Rs are made the same way though. Not saying your wrong, I totally agree that it's possible for the new ones to have upwards of 500HP.

Eh? The new ones have an official ~530bhp!

They are assembled by hand so all will be slightly different, 530bhp will be the minimum you can expect.

Great short documentary of 2012 GT-R

Actually the NEW one top's that as it's official stat's are 545 hp and 463 lb-ft of torque. 530hp was for the 2011 (In north america it is listed as a 2012 just as the current model is a 2013). The 0-60mph oh 2.9 being tossed around is also last year's model, as the current is 2.7.

GT-R so fast people can't keep up with it's new's.

p.s. Remember this is the BASE model, just wait till the Spec-V .

Well, I thought GTR is very affordable? You don't have to be rich to own 2.

in australia you do. the 2007 model cost 200k and the new one will be more
plus doing " some" work to get a 2007 down a secind to 2.5sec will get some tuning shop to take about 30k of you.

so you are looking at over half a million dollars id say you need to be rich to play throw that money into car fun.

Its not all about acceleration to 62

A ferrari Enzo does 0-62 mph (100kmh) in 3.4 but from 62 mph to 124 mph (200kmh) in 6 seconds , its much faster

2012 GTR does 0-62 mph (100kmh) in 2.8 but from 62 mph to 124 mph (200 kmh) 8 seconds , its slower

GTR's 0-62 of 2.8 doesnt make it faster than all cars with slower 0-62.

It makes it faster on an everyday scale..

So does anyone who has the latest update know if they have fixed the transmission problem in the 2012 GTR?

best ive gotten on the route X test track is a 3.214 with a 11.493 1/4 mile.. ive been trying this for an hour and thats the best i can do without power mods or weight reduction.. with nothing but a oil change and sport soft tires.... yeah i know it comes with sports hard but trust me the sports soft are way more representative of the real life dunlops

this was a quick vid i took but its not the absolute fastest run i think i had traction on 1 for this run

with a 07 GTR bone stock just oil change sport soft tires everything off manually shifting... i got on average 3.3 0-60 and a 11.7 1/4 mile for comparison

09 specV was 3.2 with 11.6 1/4 mile

the matte black special specV was bone stock was quicker than all of them 3.1 an 11.3

i have a 2012 black edition in real life and it will easily do a 2.8 0-60 with a 11.0-10.9 1/4 mile

i ran a 7.006 @102.9 1/8th mile last month bone stock and with a simple midpipe (adds roughly 15 hp) i ran a 6.995@102.4 with a 1.60 60ft time... that translates to actually probably closer to a high 2.7 0-60

so the game is quite a bit off for the new JDM 2012 black edition about 5 tenths of a sec more or less ( which is technically the 2013 GTR in the US that has 15 more hp than mine)

damn and all this time people have been complaining the gtr is too fast in gt5 when in fact it's slower and the real life car is even faster!

Pd stop being so modest make the gtr faster dammit.

with race soft tires (other wise 100% stock) i got it down to 3.166 with perfect shifts.

race hard was only slightly better than sport soft still in the low 3.2's
