From either inheriting some money, or having a big family business. In order to get sponsored, you must first get into racing to have a reason for the sponsorship, and getting into motorsport requires money.
Exactly and they then run the race team as a sub brand of the company for advertising, Michael Zehe does with Rowe or Tony Hughes with Speedworks etc

So yes, motorsport does require a lot of money, which is what we've been saying all along.

Muscat immediately sprang to the top in his competitive debut for Erebus GT in the Mercedes AMG SLS GT3 by topping the third practice session in the 24-car field. He clocked 1:09.7504s, just under a second quicker than Justin McMillan (Lamborghini Gallardo) with James Koundouris third fastest in a Porsche GT3-R.“It’s a very different thing to drive compared to the Porsche I was racing last year,” Muscat said.

Pirelli World Challenge race got cancelled

Pirelli World Challenge race got cancelled

There is a tornado watch in the area until 5PM ET so I'm not sure they had much of a choice as IndyCar has priority over the World Challenge.

Guess we'll have to wait for race 2 tomorrow morning. I can't wait to see the standing start :D

Cancelled for weather. That's a bummer. Race was going to be good
It got real bad here on the afternoon, tornado warnings here in Orlando and the storm covered all of Central Florida for at least 4 hours...

Anyone have a live stream to race 2? PWC's website is overloaded with people trying to watch the live stream.

I honestly can't say I'm surprised at all..

Typical for this stupid idea towards watching races on the internet.

Not working at all here.
The page itself won't load.

And somehow the internet is suppose to what, draw in more fans...???

🤬 stupid.

What next, join us on Twitter to read all the action?

Right now it's the only way besides live timing.

Sorry for DP, thought I hit the edit button.

At least they are trying to give us the action real time even when they don't have live TV coverage...
I just hope they upload to Youtube tonight.

Streaming worked flawlessly for me except for the lack of being able to go full-screen.

Anyways, there was some really good racing in both classes and I can't wait for Long Beach.

My stream didn't work until 9 minutes to go. :( Oh well, it was a fantastic 9 minutes. :) I'm glad we have the PWC, best sports car series in North America! :D Long Beach is going to be AMAZING.

Just watched the replay, it's up on the World-Challenge website. Very poor video quality to be honest, but it definitely is better than nothing. Was a good race, definitely great not seeing the usual Yellow Flag manipulation we see on tge "professional" US racing series.

Stream worked for the last 10 minutes of the race for me today and wouldn't go full screen, yet "archived" races can be watched in HD and with full screen.. Hopefully they fix the issues for Long Beach.

That start was awesome.

Overall good race. I was bummed when Turner had to drop out. The BoP was a lot better than I expected just from looking at qualifying times.

1 question though:
What's the deal with the GT and GT-A. I see guys who are ranked silver or bronze in GT, and guys that I question why are considered am in the GTA class.

Also, I think WC saw IMSA so caution happy, and they have gone too far in the other direction imo. I wasn't impressed with the 2 cars sitting with drivers in them at the end. The mustang especially. That should've been a yellow

Hopefully they fix the issues for Long Beach.

Part of me thinks they weren't expecting the actual viewer turnout to match the buildup, hopefully they beef up their servers before Long Beach. Also, I was disappointed by the lack of post race interviews, especially as you can see Enge being interviewed by a TV crew right before the sign-off.
