Remember the ballast penalties changed between race 1 and 2 because we have less people than we originally thought.

It should be, 25+20+15.

Sorry about that! :)

Either way, it's the difference between having a heavy girl in your passenger seat, and having a heavy girl who just ate some cake in your passenger seat.
You guys are confusing me. So the ballast is cumulative? I thought you just ran the initial 25 +/- the penalty/reward from your most recent race result. But you are adding it up!

So for Japan I need 25+30+20 = 75 total?!? :scared:

And seriously, 55kg is a heavy girl where you come from? Now that's a place I'd like to go!

Yep, Ballast is cumulative Rob.

If you'd like to remove some weight, feel free to finish in the back next week :)

Nice to see you guys still around, looks like a fun and well organised series. Almost makes me want to fire up good old GT5 again ;)

:) Feel free to put down that Iracing and come join us sometime Maco :)

Ok, thanks for confirming. I'll do my best, to do my worst then?

If I didn't understand it (and I've read the rules) then I'm sure there will be others.

Might be worth sending out an email with everyone's specific ballast requirements for each race so that there's no confusion. Plus it gives people the chance to see who is running what; get an idea of who might be late/early on the brakes or whatever. Could be useful information for the race?

Yup, this is definitely a good idea 👍

Do you guys not get my emails? Lol

i sent that exact email last night :)

I will update the rules to alleviate confusion.

I do when I check them. Forgot to this morning. Read them now. All is well. Thanks.

Anyone wanna practice tonight? Crazy day at work and I am all hopped up on coffee. Ready to shred some Suzuka :)

Guess not :)

Rayz and I did some practice tonight. I'd say I'm just about ready to go.

I'm eager to score some more points, but not excited to take any extra ballast before Monaco. Oy.

Feeling suitably practiced for this. Done my fuel calcs and ready to rock. Doesn't actually feel too bad with 75kg and at least now I've been able to achieve a more desirable weight distribution. Anyway, seems good for steady mid 20's. Managed a 19.8 once but had nothing more to give.

See you Saturday!

I hope an asteroid falls from the sky and lands on your car. I can't run a 19!

See ya Saturday ya jerk.

Wow! I am in the mid 21's with an occasional high 20. That's with only 5kg of ballast even. I don't think sector 1 is enough to balance the straight line sectors 2 and 3. Guess I messed up picking the lotus.

It was a one-off, don't get your knickers in a twist! 👍

I think that by having more ballast i've actually been able to improve the balance of the car. Whereas if you already have a well balanced car (which is everything except the Z) there's really nothing to gain from any extra ballast.

Although I have noticed it's wearing tyres quite quickly now, and i know for a fact i'm going to be easy meat on the brakes. I'm definitely ready for a new set by lap 12. Times are in the 22's/23's by then.

Don't forget the 10-15 seconds you can gain in the pits Whitey :)

And, you'll be waaay better on tires. The FRs are destroying tires at Suzuka.

I actually am starting to fade big time by lap 12 too. Wonder if I'm pushing too hard or if all the lotus' are seeing the same thing too. I'm in the high 23's low 24's by lap 12 and having to baby it on corner exit.

Definitely pleased to have popped out a few 20.1s fairly quickly! Had another lap where I gained .3 on my best lap in the last sector, so a 19.8 should be very possible. Lets just hope I do it during quali, eh? A lap 12 stop sounds about right.

Terrible race for me! My wheel fell off the stand three times, and then when I finally got it back the brakes started sticking horribly. I'm sure this will be the result that I drop lol. At least I got some ballast back before Monaco!

I updated the website with results and standings pending review.

Congrats to Fabian for two in a row!

Watched a bit of the replay. From what I saw of Fabian it looked good. A little jerky and plenty of sliding about but still somehow epicly quick? He was doing 18.7's with no draft and damaged right rear suspension! Say what!?!

Highlight of the race for me was going 2 wide through 130R with Jones. He was on the outside by the way (crazy bastard). Also had some good battles with fbm and Whitey. Definitely the most exciting race so far from my cars point of view.

Just too heavy now so looking forward to a bad finish at Monaco.

lol, don't hear that often!

I'm counting on a podium at Monaco to keep me alive in this thing as we go into our extended Christmas break.

:dunce::dunce:
Totally blew a chance at a podium, at least. My apologies to Litchi for turning in on him at turn 1; I didnt realize he was there at all. That sent me off, setting up a battle into 130R later when I tried to take it on the inside of Jones, failing miserably. i think I touched grass or curb, and that was all she wrote. Big damage, had to pit, long lonely race ensued. Pity!

Don't feel bad. The most exciting part of the race for me was trying to not get lapped by perro....

Long season ahead fortunately :)

It's true. I'll be disappointed if i don't come dead last 👍

Been there wander. To me though, the true test of someone's character is when they're way out of it early and stick with it and keep battling. It is way harder to do that then coast to a win. Maybe you didn't rack up points but you earn respect that way. Look at all the quitters we've already had this season. We truly have some of the best drivers with the best attitudes in GT5 in this league. I'm proud to be a part of this group.

Lol, ya i like my outside moves. They're risky but they look great if you pull them off ;). Great racing last night guys, i had my opportunity to race with ray & perro but my connection was rubbish last night(did a speedtest after race & was only getting 20 mbps :( lowest ive ever seen it usally its atleast 40mbps @ peak times) & i messed up to many corner's & lost the draft.

Ok then, just for you Jonsey. Enjoy (because it'll be the last time against me :sly:);

Took quite a few actually. Sorry if some people aren't in many of them but I tried to concentrate on the main battle grounds/incidents of the first couple of laps. Could go on forever but hopefully these capture the atmosphere of the race.

Lap 1, first curve - easy does it
SuzukaCircuit_22.jpg

"S" curves lap 1 - Litchi & Rayza make a break for it
SuzukaCircuit_20.jpg

Lap 1, coldish tyres, a bit of artificial grass and 130R claims Wander
SuzukaCircuit_16.jpg

nasty immediately shows his support for Wander by having his own 'moment'
SuzukaCircuit.jpg

Manages to style it out pretty good - fbm and Red slow down to watch
SuzukaCircuit_14.jpg

Setting up a 3 way drag race down to turn 1 - blink and you'll miss it
SuzukaCircuit_12.jpg

The result of the drag race

Dunlop curve - hate that corner; so awkward
SuzukaCircuit_8.jpg

130R again (with nasty trawling for gophers in the background)

Casio triangle - nose to tail

Fun race. Well done chaps! 👍

Awesome pictures!

Yea, that was a scary moment, but I'm mostly just glad I didn't wrap anybody else up. That's some serious opposite lock! Who says you can't countersteer fast enough with a wheel :)

That whole race was a battle of trying to remount my wheel without losing too much time; hence to gopher hunting lol.

Anyway I rebuilt my pedals today; swapped the potentiometers from the Clutch and the Brake; no more sticky brake! I also re-mounted my wheel on the stand in a much more sturdy fashion. Now I'm even more excited for next week.

You should hard mount it if you can? Mine is rock solid like that. Thought you must have had some problem or other to be running that far back. Oh well, if you're gonna drop a score it might as well be a really bad one, then at least you're getting maximum ballast relief.

I think Monaco could end up being my dropped score. Or Autumn Ring. Both are gonna be really bad races for the Z. I think Jake is looking in good shape to win (if he turns up) or Whitey? Evora with little to no ballast seems the best chance on paper. Would like to think someone can stop perro anyway, especially now he has 75kg.

Don't think I have the speed for a win unfortunately rob, maybe Jake. It is going to be yell to make a clean pass and time it right so it sticks. This will be the ultimate test of who has the patience and grit of a top level driver. One misplaced wheel could mean damage for yourself and possibly others and shake up the results.

Qualifying will be ultra important!

And yea, the one who wins will be the one who qualifies well and makes zero mistakes.
