With my internet unfortunately cutting out again, I'm now forced to use prepaid mobile data. I was at least able to upload everything to gran-turismo.com beforehand:

48. Speed of Light (911 RSR '17)

One car which seems to look good with racing stripes in whatever configuration is the 911 RSR. I made up most of this on the spot, and chose 'Speed of Light' as the team because it sounds European.

49. UnderSteer Engineering (WRX Gr.3)

My first Subaru livery. Because track racing Subarus aren't exactly popular, it was hard to come up with an interesting design that still worked within the pseudo-realistic boundaries. Then I had the idea of using a popular brand. Enter DHL, whose colour scheme is radical enough to work on almost any race car.

With my lack of internet still being an unresolved issue, I was unable to post yesterday. A shame really, because now my 50th
livery has to be posted under these circumstances:

50. Alienware (GR Supra Racing Concept '18)

Ah yes, Alienware. The perceived zenith of gaming hardware. Also hardware that will never get to experience the greatness that is Gran Turismo Sport. That's why I believe that this is a fitting tribute. I normally shy away from these types of design, as they are detrimental to the verisimilitude of the game (which is also why I don't do any designs based on other games). However, I gave this one a pass, as Dell could just be crazy enough to encourage Alienware to start a racing team. I chose the brand new Supra as the canvas, because I wanted to see what design cues I could get from the body. It worked out better than I expected, my only complaint being that the racing number is again in a daft location.

51. Bouwfonds (AMG GT3 '16)

I'd actually been working on this longer than livery no.50. It's just that there's probably no appeal for this one, considering that I used a relatively unknown main sponsor again. There might be a slight 'candy' feel to this one, as I tried my best to take advantage of the multi-coloured logo of the main sponsors. Wrapping the stripes around the car was a mountain to climb, having to constantly adjust angle and depth limits. This is the best I could achieve.

I do apologise for the delay, had a busy weekend. I was surprised that I could even find the time to make these two
designs at all:

8511874764054234636_0.jpg

8367763984762307084_0.jpg

Had a feeling that a replica, not a replica retouch, was a long time coming. I'm looking more to the GT Asia tournament
for designs. This one I felt was not too complicated, and provided an interesting take on the European WRT design.

53. Prospeed Competition (911 RSR '17)

8502876371562790916_0.jpg

8511883569274029060_0.jpg

With this one, I wanted to go slightly further than a replica retouch. This is essentially an 'interpretation', a real-life racing team with a livery designed for the game. I chose Prospeed Competition because its colour scheme seems fairly consistent among all its cars. Expect more like these over the coming weeks.

With the Gran Turismo site taking an extended maintenance break, I can only post these now. These are my second and third Gr.2 designs, both done on the Nismo GT-R:

54. POCARI SWEAT ZEXEL GT-R (MOTUL AUTECH GT-R '16)

8214662479697937436_0.jpg

8214662486675162132_0.jpg

I admit to having a slight chuckle when making this one, as the main sponsor caused some eyebrows to be raised when the product was first released. This is my 'dark' design for the Nismo GT-R.

55. Anritsu NISMO GT-R (MOTUL AUTECH GT-R '16)

8224237027288154132_0.jpg

This is a design which I first made on Forza 3. It's not an exact copy as I only carried over the main sponsor, and the same 'edgy' design scheme. The rest are all different. This is my 'light' design for the Nismo GT-R. (Yes I know that the number is different in the livery to the photos. This is before I decided that I wanted continuity with the number of the previous design. If you want the no.18 livery, just give me a shout and I'll put it up.)

Well, my latest designs, as well as my entry into the GTP LEC was very delayed, due to life:

57. No. 8 Audi Sport Team Austria

8223572930535129108_0.jpg

No your eyes are not deceiving you. This is my first foray into Gr.1 designs. It was a challenge creating a Gr.1 design, mostly because these cars are found in very few areas of the motorsport, and indeed the automotive industry. Therefore, there aren't many examples to base a design off of, besides the iconic ones. With this one, I decided that instead of looking at the racing team for inspiration, look at the car manufacturer. All of Audi's colours are incorporated here, with the addition of gold for that regal feel. The reason why this team is Austrian is because of one of the sponsors (Ottakringer, an Austrian brewery. I just thought that the logo looked cool on the rear arches, and I needed to justify it.)

After last week's competition affair, it's time to return to normalcy:

This is the closest I got to a 1:1 replica of a real livery since the Konrad Motorsport Huracan. I think it makes for a cool third alternative to the works M Power and Walkenhorst Motorsport designs.

7061676104457651732_0.jpg

I was drawn to the odd colour combination of the main sponsor here. I initially wanted this to be a Pirelli World Challenge pseudo-realistic entry, but I decided against it. This was one of the few times when making white the base colour of the car makes sense, as you can always cover up the overlapping bits.

As promised, here are my attempts at creating pseudo-realistic period designs for two of the three featured Group C cars:

60.No.11 Sauber-Mercedes (C9 '89)
61.No.24 Nissan (R92CP '92)

As you may have noticed, I've gone with a different format for laying out my posts, combining the pair of designs to a greater degree, aided by the fact that I now snap them racing together. That aside, it was considerably easier to make designs for these cars than the other Gr.1 cars (and, dare I say it, some Gr.3 cars too.) This owes largely to the fact that the liveries of these cars had no set requirements as to the number of decals being placed, it was either very clean, or very busy. I went with the former here. The Sauber was far easier to apply shapes to than the Nissan, but where the Sauber falls short is its arbitrary 'Bonnet' edit area, which the Nissan thankfully lacks. I hope that my sponsors are fitting with the times and not anachronistic in any way. :scared:

Decided to go with the same post format as last weekend:

62. No.26 Absolum Racing Technology (R8 LMS)
63. No. 68 Mistral Motorsport (458 Italia GT3)

There's no real story that I can tell about these, to be quite honest, other than the fact that they had a horrifying Sport Mode debut at Sarthe. (I should've just stuck with the Jaguar while I had the momentum running, but what is up with the penalty algorithm on that track?) I will say however that I really enjoy working with the matte paint, going for a juxtaposing look with the gloss black on the Ferrari.

Hi everyone, you may have noticed that I have not posted any liveries this past weekend. Unfortunately, there are things in my life that seek to upset the balance. Aside from Le Mans this past weekend, my time has been stolen from me this week, hence my absence from GTPlanet as soon as Le Mans ended. It also gave me time to reflect on the current state of this aspect of the game. Looking at my designs, I've noticed that there is a massive leaning towards quantity over quality. At the back of my mind, I was also slowly losing motivation to churn these out every weekend. Searching for a certain logo, when in the past I would be browsing a logo catalogue and mapping out ideas from any one that I picked out, would become the norm every Friday, along with frantically trying to figure out a pattern to place on the car.

Yes, this means that I've become displeased with more than half of my designs, and because of this, I've decided to slow down on the designs. As proven in the past, real life has to come before any Internet activity, and so with that being said, liveries are now only going to be posted on every second Sunday. You'll now be having to wait longer, but with the promise of receiving designs of far better quality. I have started work on two 1:1 replicas from Le Mans, having broken them down into a project-esque approach, which I find keeps me more engaged. See you this Sunday.

Here I am, albeit a week late, to post my Le Mans themed designs. This will be the first of my designs which will now be released biweekly:

64. No. 56 Project 1 Motorsport (911 RSR '17)
65. No.90 TF Motors (Vantage GT3)

7287458615899751948_0.jpg

The first of their kinds, 1:1 replicas. Of course, since these liveries have to be sealed with the promise of being race-ready (i.e. If there are third-party numbers, they have to fit cleanly over the box where the first-party Sport Mode numbers go.), there are minor positional differences. The Aston Martin livery, however, has a larger difference from the car which ran last weekend. It is still a real livery, but this is the WEC livery used prior to the 24h race. The Turkish-themed roof decal has been replaced with the hexagonal hotchpotch, which I think looks cooler, and the persona has also been omitted, as I was unable to research who this person is, and even if I knew who he was, I would be unable to procure an adequate .svg file. The Porsche livery was nice and easy to create. I was able to find all the decals, save for the URL, and the timespan decal on the roof, which I had to create with Inkscape. Both these designs were adapted from amateur Le Mans GTE teams, which drives home my philsophy of creating designs from lesser-known teams. I thought that these designs looked very clean, and it is especially going to be fun racing with the slogan 'Be Cool, Be Fast, Be First' on the side of my car.

Well, apart from saving my thread from dropping off to the dreaded second page; having two weeks to come up with a pair of designs has resulted in this:

66. No.47 Lempel Technologies (RC-F GT3 Emil Frey Prototype)

6061867170423374873_23.jpg

8584517309553476124_0.jpg

8440397712627630620_0.jpg

I don't know if I should've waited two weeks for this one to release, as I had actually completed this one before the Brazil-Belgium match. I might have gotten away with it (not really) by creating this fictional team as a joint venture between Brazil and the United Kingdom.

67. No.4 Mountain Dew Ice AKA "I Can't Believe It's Not Sprite!" (GT-R NISMO GT3)

7142710110754735628_0.jpg

Remember what I said about creating a design based around a brand with worldwide reach? Well, since I discovered Inkscape, I realised that it's now very possible. I wanted to create a soft-drink-sponsored design for a real-life race car, so the GT-R was the only one which didn't have a design yet. I really had fun making this one, but inserting the soda fizz became a bit tedious, especially around the smaller areas.

Saving my thread from going to page 2, 'cos it's that time again:
68. No. 23 ASKO Lexus Racing (RC-F GT3 Emil Frey Prototype)

8358695212798739481_23.jpg

8575500205716176908_0.jpg

8431380617382364172_0.jpg

8439824868829070348_0.jpg

Okay, so taking a cue from one of my household items is at play here. Yes, this design has the same main sponsor as the brand of washing machine which I own. Quality inspired by Scandinavia (and Japan).

69. No. 16 Ford Racing Alternate 1 (Mustang Gr.3)

6917556516044145689_23.jpg

8287257743460433924_0.jpg

5773717060691460104_0.jpg

8142583995292483588_0.jpg

The Mustang was one of the last Gr.3 cars which I acquired (By buying it, and not winning it, because it almost never appears in the DW roulette.), and being a pseudo-realistic car, decided to give it an orignal flavour design. This one is inspired by the red/white/blue design of the Ford GT GTE cars, with some of my own design quirks inserted for good measure.
Additionally, there is something extra up my sleeve this time around...

Revision 1. Honda Racing Alternate 1 ('18 Edition) (NSX Gr.3)

7062299524859953177_23.jpg

8431385017440044036_0.jpg

Yes, one of my most iconic (to me) designs on one of my most beloved cars. New for 2018 includes some extra white trim around the grille, some additional sponsor decals (finally applied Honda Racing!), and a new rear bumper wrap. Expect more revisions like these (Seriously this time). You may have also noticed that I have decided to invent a new numbering convention for these updates.

Oh noes, I've fallen off of the front page! Oh well, I only have one new design instead of two, plus a revision:

70. No. 34 eSkye (F-Type Gr.3)

8151607685079369241_23.jpg

7358908192824263692_0.jpg

7205785807710355468_0.jpg

7359471144457503756_0.jpg

This design started off silver, but became white after I remembered that I had already done four silver designs for the Jaguar. I wanted to keep the rear spoiler the same colour as the rest of the car because I wanted to continue the pattern right down the middle of the car. Therefore it's the first unique design not to feature any sponsor decal on the rear spoiler.
A similar pattern is featured on the suit design.

Revision 2. No.99 Mitsubishi Motors Alternate 1 ('18 edition) (Lancer Gr.3)

6918119465547759617_23.jpg

8502818091204380164_0.jpg

8358702903533273612_0.jpg

8503376652038866444_0.jpg

Well, I said that I was going to do more of these, and I kept true to my word. The changes here are that I introduced a new colour to the scheme (green), updated the number colour to red, and placed additional patterns and decals (Also, the team has an origin in Germany now).

Well, since I only did one new design last fortnight, I decided to do three just to balance things out:

71. Raeder Motorsport (Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car)

7071245157854643713_23.jpg

8512468515434792460_0.jpg

8359341730122695172_0.jpg

8368348919042671116_0.jpg

Since everyone is busy doing replica designs of the 2018 GT GTE, and I've also seen the Robertson Racing replica floating around, so I decided to go for a rarer one: Enter Raeder Motorsport, whose striking orange VLN design on their Ford GT is likely to still turn heads. A few decals were made from scratch and not downloaded. I have also had to shuffle around the position of some decals because of the Sport Mode number. I really hope that we get to move it soon! P.S. Grab the matching suit here.

72. O'Gara Motorsport (Huracan GT3 '15)

8574924072371093513_23.jpg

8358760077734217228_0.jpg

8358760086192030212_0.jpg

8368334633379595788_0.jpg

My second interpretation. There was not much moving around of decals to accommodate the number here, but it's still not exactly 1:1. A fitting tribute to the embodiment of playing Sport Mode on 'Hard' difficulty. The matching suit can be grabbed here.

73. Alfa Romeo Racing (4C Gr.3)

7350446350828339217_23.jpg

8503461314433122820_0.jpg

8359346119514261004_0.jpg

Had this design at the back of my mind for a while. It's basically an inversion of the original design, you could basically call this one the 'black' edition. Notice the discreet logo on the engine bay. The matching suit can be grabbed here.

I wish my stuff could be half as good as yours!

This is one of the only threads on GTPlanet or any livery sharing location for that matter that consistantly keeps pumping out quality despite the comparativley fast release speeds! I’m amazed again.

And it's comments like these that motivate me to keep making designs. :)

P.S. Your work on replicating Project CARS 2 designs is quite admirable.

Rub those hands together and get ready for some new releases:

6927121180521398292_0.jpg

One original design and one replica retouch. My garden-variety design archetypes. The Ferrari already had some sort of a basis in a previous design which uses a similar colour scheme. I decided to use official number insiginia instead of the game-issued insignia, to improve verisimilitude. I chose Descente as a sponsor, because why not? I haven't done a design with a sports apparel brand as its main sponsor yet. The Mercedes design was chosen after an extensive period of browsing. I initially thought that the standard sponsor set-up found on the real car was a bit bland, so I spiced it up with the logo from a German e-commerce site specialising in - office decor? Of course that's a thing. Like the previous replicas, some logos were made from scratch and not downloaded. Their accompanying suits can be downloaded here and here.

What a tumultuous week it has been. I'm surprised that I even found the time to make these liveries:
76. Toyota Racing Developments Alternate 1 (GR Supra Racing Concept '18)
77. AKKA ASP (AMG GT3 '16)

7062303927208805396_0.jpg

Life didn't threaten to get in the way, it did. That's why I missed the release day yesterday. I actually had the base design for the AMG done a week in advance, I should've probably taken whatever free time I had, as I underestimated the difficulty in acquiring some of the decals. The design which I based this off from has multiple different main sponsors, so I decided to choose my own one, keeping it French as the team is French. The Supra's design is actually modelled after a die-cast model of a aftermarket-tuned Celica which I own. I thought that the design carried over pretty well. Notice the discreet kanji which reads 'Toyota'. The two matching suits can be grabbed here and here.

With the arrival of the M3 GT in the latest update, there is one interpretation which I was itching to do, along with a very ambitious unique design:

78. Prototype Technology Group (M3 GT (BMW Motorsport) '11)

7278394254927331348_0.jpg

My own take on the PTG design which featured in Forza actually turned out better than I thought. I wanted to do something radical yet not too unbelievable with the stars - I have inadvertently snubbed 14 states though.
This is essentially how the team livery would look if they were still around (are they?) and running an M3 GT. The number insignia is something I conjured up though. The Citroen's design was birthed out of a desire to create a design not just for a pseudo-realistic car, but for a completely fictional car (well, it does fall into the pseudo-realistic category as of recently, but at some point it was fictional.) I tried to create a sense of sponsor control, while trying to stay as French as possible. This was one of my most challenging designs, as the car itself looks like a dream, but is a nightmare to design a livery for. Still, I think that I gave it a good enough go. You can grab the matching suits here and here.

I was wondering where I saw that Citroen before, then I remembered that Cytoria reposted it a couple days ago. Wasn't sure who made it but I guess I found out. Wonderful work as always on such a difficult car.

That reminds me, I had Bouygeus Telecom in my list of liveries to do for a while, so I need to find another car to do it on!

I had very limited time these two weeks, but I was able to have some fun with modernesque designs in the time that was afforded to me:

80. Precote Herberth Motorsport (911 RSR '17)
81. Tower Automotive (Corvette C7 Gr.3)

I'm really starting to grow interest in these modernesque designs. The angular hodgepodge works well on almost any car, even the roundest of body shapes, case in point being the Herberth Motorsport Porsche. I chose it because it is the least busy, in my opinion, of the ADAC GT Masters liveries of 2017-2018 while still being an interesting design. The Ricoh decal was sitting in my collection from the time that I purchased the game, it is astounding (not really) that I took so long to create a suitable design around it. I chose the Corvette because, well, why not create a design for one of the most underrated Gr.3 cars for a change? Grab the matching suits here and here.

At last, some activity on this thread! It has been a while, but life always comes first. Anywho, to make up for this time missed, here are three ew designs instead of the usual two:

82. Optimum Motorsport (R8 LMS '15)

83. UnderSteer Engineering (FT-1 VGT Gr.3)

84. KEYENCE TOM'S SC430 (PETRONAS TOM'S SC430 '08)

The first two of these actually were released on my gran-turismo.com profile before this post was made. The first one is an interpretation of a British team that competes in the GT Open. I chose a minimalistic main sponsor to go with the overall minimalistic design.

With the FT-1, I did something more radical. I mimicked the patttern from the main sponsor on the sides, and accommodated it into the curves on the hood. It does give off a distinctly Force-India-esque vibe, and as I only saw this late on, you can use your imagination with the team being British, as they could be of Indian heritage.

Sadly, these new Gr.2 cars are quite underpowered and eat through tyres rather quickly. Still, that didn't stop me from creating a design with one of the most radical colour combinations I've used. Grab the matching suits here , here and here. (P.S. - @MrWaflz55, I do apologise, I was meant to get back to you about posting my liveries here, but I didn't have time to make a decision. Can I maybe PM you relating this?)

Aww yiss, guess who's back! It was a hellish few weeks, but I managed to pull through. I have to admit though, I was using excuses not to make designs, namely the bug where all the icons disappear upon trying to load user decals. However, I was not staying true to my mentality of making lemons out of lemonade, so when it happened again as I was about to get started on this first new design, I thought to myself "Why not just get the colour scheme and wrap sorted out first? You can always make space for the sponsor." And it seems to have paid off. It gave me a sense of freedom that I didn't feel before, as evidenced by my original design. But first:

85. No.71 Tafel Racing (458 Italia GT3 '13)

Another interpretation; this time of an old F430 GT2 design. I particularly took a liking to this one when I first played with it in Forza Motorsport 3, and wondered how it would look on a 458, had Tafel Racing decided to continue competition. The blue hexagonal pattern is something from my own imagination.

86. No. 96 Mazdaspeed Sweden (Atenza Gr.3)

I don't know why, but the UI scheme of FIFA 17 popped into my head the other day. Couple that with the fascination by MSExtreme's liveries seen at the South African round of the World RX Championship - and also the inability to access any online assets - and voila, a unique, radical but believable design was birthed. Why the third point is so important is because I was just going to town with the shapes due to being unable to lay down the main sponsor decal. I wouldn't have come up with this design had it been working, so thanks PD for that, but also I have to rescind my thanks because we have to close out the year without me getting to show it off in Sport Mode. Grab the matching suits here and here. Happy holidays!
