So..........I just wanted to share how happy I am. I just got done ordering the GT2/clubsport pedals. I am excited to try out fanatec. My first fanatec product ever.

I first used a ms wheel, then to a g27(which i loved), and now going with fanatec. Am super excited to play Forza 3 with an awesome wheel.

Will update this when i get it(may :crazy:).

And of course, I will post in other threads about the GT2. Lets hope the transaction goes smooth, and I get an awesome working wheel.

I think you will be happy :) , i had a logitech g27 then traded it for a gt3 rs v2 and the force feedback feels so much better!
still waiting for some extra cash tough so i can order the clubsport pedals
 
I ordered GT2/CS pedals/shifter as well last week. Now begins the wait :crazy:
 
Totally worth it... It's incredible... I didn't like GT5 much with the ds3 but with my playseat evo + gt2/csp, it's totally unbelievable!!

I know, the wait is gonna kill me. I keep hoping, out of the blue, they get an early shipment in, and i will have it soon. lol.

And yes, I am excited to try my first belt driven, and fanatec wheel.

So I guess you will tell us if you like the GT2/CSP when you receive your pieces in about 2.5+ months? At least the latest report that I read was that the wheels were out of stock for new orders and would not be shipping until late May 2011? Did you received any information on shipping?

Fanatec also pulled the GT2 kit (wheel+pedals) selling for $400.00USD and said they will offer it later (did this maybe to relieve pressure on sales for wheel?). did you receive the kit price or did Fanatec make you buy the items separately for the individual prices?

The May prediction was probably just Fanatec giving the worst possible scenario in their eyes. Still it could go longer or come sooner.... At this point the 'predicted' worse case is May which is only like 2 months at this point. If you would've ordered a week or two earlier the predicted shipping date was actually April for the GT2 from what I recall

It doesn't matter tho if you really want the xbox 360 compatibility you just have no choice or options. My original plan was to buy a wheel for PS3 then get an xbox 360 wheel. However, only 360 wheel I could find was that awful looking Mad Catz wheel. Everything else appears to be discontinued on the xbox 360.

Still tempted to give up on 360 support and go with the GT3 instead. But I don't look forward to trying to get them to change my order. And I would like the freedom to play Forza with my friends so that's that.

Ya, Im pretty sure it will be may. And no, my order on fanatec says "paid". And thats it. Im sure it will stay that way till may.

It did suck that they pulled the kit price. Would have saved me $50. I had to just add the items seperate. Came to $450 plus $22 shipping.

I also thought about the GT3 RS V2. But when it came down to it, I want that xbox 360 support. Forza I hear is a blast with the fanatec wheels.
 
So I have a question for you guys. I was able to come up with another $50. Should i purchase the Shifters? Or should I just wait and use the money for the css? I am torn because i love to use a 6 speed. But wondering if just the wheel and pedals will work for me till it comes out, and there is not even a date for it yet.

Anyways, let me know your thoughts.

My missus had the GT2 Clubsport Edition still in the shopping basket on Fanatec's site (I was going to order it before but changed my mind) it was a good month or so after they had stopped doing it but we bought it anyway and Fanatec honoured the deal.
 
Thats pretty cool that they did that.
 
I gotta have an H-pattern shifter so I ordered it. I just wouldn't feel very immersed w/o it in a race car that I know uses a shifter. It should help complement the Clubsport pedals.

Looking forward to the release of the CS Shifter I'll no doubt upgrade to it at some point later and keep around the other shifter as backup or something
 
The shifter isn't that bad, I prefer it to my old G25's in some ways but there's a little too much stiffness and that loud clicking.

I've looked into fixing these but half expecting to screw it up.

Ya, i have seen some fixes on it. But don't know if I want to open up a brand new shifter. I think i'll go ahead and order them.
 
I have had my GT2 for about 1 month now, and all I can say is WOW. It is very receptive, and not too receptive to the point where it takes control from time to time(my biggest pet peeve with wheels).

I purchased a desktop over the weekend (hpe-500y) for iRacing, and what a great investment. Radeon HD graphics card on top of 8GB ram and 1.5TB drive. Almost too powerful for iRacing. The one thing I noticed, need clubsport pedals disparately. Mine will thankfully be here tomorrow. It is very tough on how to gauge the brake with the standard pedals. I know I am throwing away almost a second at Pocono & 2-3 at Laguna Seca.

I switch between the 360(Dirt 2, Nascar 09, Forza 3) and PC(iracing). So the GT2 is vital. And as stated above, standard pedals are crap. Thankfully on iRacing you can calibrate them constantly to ensure 100% pressure to all pedals, but not on xbox. So get the clubsports and don't be cheap. You will regret wasting $50 on the standards, then wait another 1-2 weeks for the clubsports. When, you should have just gotten the CSP is the first place.

Honestly, this latest shipment of shifters seem to be a different model so to say. They aesthetically look the same, BUT the h-gate is totally different in its sound & shifting fluidness. The h-gate/6spd is much quieter in noise, and easier to shift. They must have done some quick re-engineering between batches.

They are nothing like the ones you have seen/heard online. Much better, and not as "cheap" feeling as the first one. A LOT less clack, and much easier to go from gear to gear. For $50, it is a great deal. BUT, I think we all are on our chair's edge waiting for the Clubsport shifter and handbrake. another BUT, for now, the standard shifters seems to have made a BIG quality improvement. If you want a decent set from now til then, these now are a buy. If they were as clacky, no, but now, absolutely, get them!

I feel bad for those who have not received their shipment, the US warehouse is stocked up on PWSS. Their site needs to be updated, b/c PWSS IS IN STOCK for the USA. Order now, and you should have them within 1 week.

I want to thank you as well for this excellent info. Seriously, this helps alleviate my concerns about some of the posts I've been reading. I knew I wanted the h-pattern shifter no matter what but had some minor concerns about the negative posts (which are very old like you just pointed out)
 
So, this is my first time ordering with fanatec. And I know I have to be patient, but I have a couple of questions if anyone has gone down the same road as me.

I ordered the GT2 and clubsports on the 17th. Yesterday I sent them(general contact) an email to see if I could add the shifters and 2.5 m cord to my order to avoid shipping costs. They wrote me back and said I could, and just to paypal them the money to their paypal address. So onto the questions.

1. Will everything ship out at the same time? Cause I know the GT2 wont ship to at least may. So even though the clubsport pedals/shifters/cord are in stock, do they ship them out with the wheel? Or ship them to me sooner?

2. Since I added the shifters/2.5 m cable, but just sent paypal money, will they show up on the website? Or do I just have to wait and see when they ship?

Sorry for the long post.

1. more than likely not, you will receive the items as they are in stock from the warehouse

2.inquire about the shipping dates, they should let you know as per order #.

Again, they must have worked on the issues from production runs. The shifters are a lot smoother and quieter w/out modding. Also, from what I JUST read, they worked out a solution to the Standard Pedals issues, so they will be a lot better this time around. So, the standard pedals might be an OK purchase(Oh well, my CSP will be here tomorrow)

It seems as if they are stepping up big time in the quality control area. Learning from the mistakes is a good sign of the things to come....

Im glad to hear the shifters seem to be better. And I can't wait for everything to get here. Long time to wait though.

But on the second question, I was asking if they would add it to the original order on the website. Because I did not make another transaction through the website. I just paypalled the money. So I never put anything in my cart for those(shifters and cable) parts. I simply just emailed and they told me to send the money.

Hopefully they update the website to reflect the other purchases I made.
 
They should Kasey. I did the same thing for the clubsports & tuning kit. Nothing on their site, but I got a tracking #. They will be here tomorrow.

Look out Pocono on iRacing, Ima bout to shave a second off my time!

last week. They shipped within hours of paying for them.

Got the date: March 16th ordered, will be here tomorrow March 22nd. Would have been sooner if I was not located across the country from the warehouse.
 
Ok. I ordered on thursday, and my order went from pending to paid within a day, but still says that. Oh well. I have to wait till may anyways to get the wheel. I guess it will get here, when it gets here.👍

Very stoked though. have not played any racing games for like 2 weeks since i sold my g27.

ordered my GT3/CSP and tuning kit Sunday and my account says delivered already. Just waiting for a tracking number now. should be here by the end of the week easy as I am in Arizona.:cheers:
