I made a few Videos and currently making more trying to see how the game has programmed standard cars speed compared to it's real life rivals.

First Test was a Simple Max Speed Run between 5 of the top 90s Japanese Sports cars(Supra, NSX, RX7, GT-R and GTO):

Next one is a 1000m Sprint with some Japanese B Class Favourites:

The Final one I've completed soo far is a 1000m sprint using the 5 JDM cars in the first video:

Edit: In the first video I got the RX7s speed wrong it's 272 not 282 Km/h.

The US cars seem to be so poorly geared in the default setup. Cars like the Mustang seem like they'd fare better on the max speed test just with tweaked gear ratios.

The Camaro was notoriously bad in GT1 for this too.

Yeah it would be highway gearing, which makes no sense on cars like the Viper, the Mustang though is just terrible no matter which way you put it. The Corvette though is amazing in this regard It might just be a one off for the ZR-1 though I haven't tried the other models yet.

The Japanese tend to make the gearing quite tight depending on the car(likely due to all cars being limited to 180km/h IRL) and the Europeans tend to make them for highest top speed.

Ill be doing a 1000m run test after with the same cars next, I would expect the Evo and WRX STI to come out in top.

And given to the large amounts of Kei cars on GT2 i'll try that too.

I was going to do more sedans but I thought of doing this instead, fastest hatchbacks in countdown, it took me ages to make this video as I didn't have the pulsar so I had to skip like 20 days to get it lol:

The Mirage really surprised in this one, only 2 mph off the top and it only had 172hp.

I skipped most of the run up as it was making the video way too long.

It's quite refreshing to see GT2 in mph.

As a PAL user, it's always been kph with no option to change even though I'm from a miles per hour country.

The only problem with that is the US version buggers up a few things especially the Integra type R but either way I don't mind even though I'm more used to km/h.

I made the Kei Car 1000m Sprint, I Tried pretty much every Kei on the game(even the Super rare Vivio RX-RA which was slower then the normal one lol) and cut it down to these 10(1 car per model).

You've got some massive patience to record all this. I'd be asleep by the time i'm done with 3 cars. Having to stand going around Test course so much...

Still, nice video. It's interesting how different it is compared to maxxed out cars. I'm pretty sure the Ford/Mercury Cougar wins the fastest FWD top speed then :P

The recording is pretty easy the editing takes much longer.

In Todays Episode I take a look into what makes the Impreza 22B so special and why it's such a premium over a Normal impreza coupe:

The fastest tuned FWD cars are: (top speed)
[R] Dodge Intrepid (RM , 2nd Fastest)
and
Dodge Intrepid (non RM , Fastest)

I listed some of the max speeds I ran here.

Really? I'd have thought the most powerful being the Cougars, they'd have won. I4m very surprised that the Intrepid is that fast. It still doesn't live up to the dragster hype though.
