I'm not going to start bashing SGT2002 cos it's not that bad a game, but it's not in the same league as GT3 in anyway at all, the one thing it does have over GT3 are a few of the cars, it's got the Alfa SZ and thoes old AMG Mercs and the Jag E-Type, but the physics are waaaaaaaay off GT3's nigh on perfectness.

Great game.

I have several write-in candidates besides Auto Modellista:
-Top Gear Rally for the SNES and now Game Boy, which gets my vote for best soundtrack of any game ever
-Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
-Smuggler's Run with Low Gravity cheat
-Grand Theft Auto (the original)
-Dare Devil Derby (if anyone knows of this game, i would be surprised)

Um.. well this is a GT forum and you are asking which is different.. anyways yeah i voted for GT3 because i never played Sega GT even though i doubt that any game beside GT4 will beat GT3 anyways. What about an option for those who hasnt played both.

[Concept]

I enjoyed and completed both games. SGT2002 had things in it that GT3 never had like the whole garage feature and such. That was a very cool thing. Seeing your car actually in a garage, photos of your favorite parts of the game, stuff to put in the garage, trophys, etc.

GT3 is simply just an all around beter game. So yeah. My vote is for GT3.

Having played both, I really just prefer Gran Turismo 3, as I seem to find it feels more realistic, and less arcade-y. They're both still good games, mind you.

GT3 anyday man, physics wise....I only played segaGT on the xbox, and i hate the xbox controller....hrmm, probably influecing my decision between the two games as well...=P
