I went back to Grand Valley East to see what happened with the cars at their spec hp/kg ratings
Base HP-no weight added
Autobacs ARTA GARAIYA '08-----stock 1'03.783
RE Amemaiya ASPARADRINK RX7 '06-----stock 1'03.783 (yes they are really the same)
Subaru CUSCO DUNLOP IMPREZA '03------stock 1'04.078
Autobacs ARTA GARAIYA '03---stock 1'03.819
Toyota APEX MR-S------stock 1'03.808 time from previous test, only +5 hp
The tuned class:
Toyota WEDSPORT CELICA (stock weight 1000 kg)--stock HP 1100kg-100 kg added-103.705 This car ran a 1'03.534 @ 1050 kg
Subaru CUSCO DUNLOP IMPREZA '08----1'03.993 Turbo 2 added power % turned down to 345 hp-548pp
Lexus WEDSPORT IS350-----1'04.071 NA-3 added power % turned down to 345 hp-546 pp
The Lexus is still a couple mph slow but the time is still competitive. With the NA-3 on the Lexus its easy to see if the car is in the correct spec since the redline is higher than stock. The Impreza could be a issue with cheating but if the room is set to 345 hp/1100 kg the difference between Turbo-2 and Turbo-3 is the torque curve.Having this tuning option open might be a incentive to take this car since its so hard on tires.I havent tested to see what the difference in lap times would be but i doubt it would be more than .2 to .3 sec since the Hp is fixed.
I think the Acura NSX RM is an interesting idea but the car cant compete. Its too fast on the straights and too slow in the turns, and it only has a 5 speed transmission. With some more testing i think 8 cars is plenty of choices for a series so im not sure the NSX is needed anyway.
I'm planning a return to Fuji to run with the new specs to see if the field stays this close.
boshuter- we were both right and wrong,im looking forward to trading some paint with you.
