Going to keep an eye on this and see where it goes - may be interested in the testing to see if can compete.

Understand the idea of leaving the cars stock, they have been purchased as race contenders so no need to change them really, other than personal tweeks. :)

2 Ideas that I thought of.

1. If we find that people are using the same car and showing that people are always taking the lead with those cars/winning. We could do the full on restrictions for anyone running that car as they do in the Super GT series. I know it would be hard to do but if we get enough people interested then it could work.

2. How about we spice this up with No Tracks that came with the game. I was thinking about organizing a series that a week before the race I would share the track I plan to use. That would give people 7 days to learn the track and be able to tune their cars. It would add an element if there were teams where one person was able practice and help the other person who didn't have much time on their hands.

Just ideas I'm throwing out there.

i would not participate in a series without the tracks in the game.and as far as the cars,Gamesta's series allows a max of two of the same cars in the series.that would be my preference.

but in the gt300 is not the same amount of cars may be we have to use 3 or more same cars

Did some testing @ Fuji GT with the mentioned 305hp/1100 kg specs

Premium:
1. Subaru CUSCO DUNLOP IMPREZA '08---- 1:40.554 top speed 150 mph
2. Lexus WEDSPORT IS350-----1:40.672 146 mph
3. Autobacs ARTA GARAIYA '08----1:40.025 150 mph
4. RE Amemaiya ASPARADRINK RX7 '06-----1:39.151 154 mph

Standard:
1. Subaru CUSCO DUNLOP IMPREZA '03-----1:39.607 151 mph
2. Toyota WEDSPORT CELICA-----1:39.417 154 mph
3. Autobacs ARTA GARAIYA '03-----1:40.010 151 mph
4. RE Amemaiya ASPARADRINK RX7 '03----dont have
5. Toyota APEX MR-S-----1:39.188 157 mph

The MR-S was the king of sector 1, but gave the time back from t2 to the last turn. The RX-7 is the easiest car to drive by far, very neutral handling.

I plan to run these specs again at more of a handling track and post what i find.

I'm rather interested in this if the time/day works for me. I'll stay tuned to see what time-slot you decide on and then let you know if I can participate. I'd be running the Cusco Subaru '08 if possible, it's the only GT300 car I have at the moment.

I'm in if stays at:
300hp
1100 kg
2 or 3 same car limit
NO pp requirement

Is anyone else gettig the same times as iforcev8? I tested the NSX RM at 305 hp and 1100 kg. I got the same times with the NSX as I did the Cusco Impreza 08 and the Lexus.

I ran my Garaiya around deep forest in 1.12.2xx, got the Lexus round in 1.13.7xx, huge gap! Both were at 305bhp and stock weights, 1175 and 1125 respectively, both were bought new today. Did about 5 to 10 laps in each to keep it fairer

I have the standards; Subaru, RX-7, MR-S as well, as of yet untested, will run them all around Trial Mountain, good test track :) What settings you guys using? (TCS etc.)

Oh also in regards to cars, there's a Silvia JGTC as well I believe, but I haven't got it!

Same specs as before, this time at Grand Valley east

Premium:
1. Subaru CUSCO DUNLOP IMPREZA '08----1'04.973
2. Lexus WEDSPORT IS350-----1'05.309
3. Autobacs ARTA GARAIYA '08-----1'04.870
4. RE Amemaiya ASPARADRINK RX7 '06-----1'04.154

Standard:
1. Subaru CUSCO DUNLOP IMPREZA '03-----1'04.790
2. Toyota WEDSPORT CELICA-----1'04.086
3. Autobacs ARTA GARAIYA '03------1'04.525
4. RE Amemaiya ASPARADRINK RX7 '03----dont have
5. Toyota APEX MR-S--------1'03.808

With these specs (305 hp-1100 kg min.) its a 3 car series, maybe 4 with the 03 Arta getting a good tune.

The Silvia is the worst race car in GT5.I started a lap @ Fuji with it and the understeer was so bad i exited before the warm-up lap was over.I also built the Acura NSX and it ran a 1'05 331.Its fast down the straight but the extra weight kills it in the turns.

Running these cars at spec wont affect the outcome much.I think the main change will be the MR-S will be slow because its only 315 hp stock, and the Arta's will get faster without restriction on HP.Check the results of the WSGTC GT300 races to see what i mean.

Next test will be using the PP system.

are you testing these cars at 305 hp and 1100 kg? i added weight to the NSX RM to get it to 1100 kg and i could do the same times as the other cars at fuji.ill run some laps at deep forest and trial mountain.

Ok well I ran all the GT300s I have around Trial Mountain, here's my results :)

ARTA Garaiya '08: 1:23.194
AMEMIYA ASPARADRINK RX-7 '04: 1:23.387
APEX MR-S '00: 1:23.452
CUSCO SUBARU Impreza '03: 1:23.950
Weds Sport IS350 '08: 1:24.693
NSX RM '91: 1:25.678

All done with 305bhp, stock weights apart from the NSX. Might get an 06 RX7 to see what it's like, does well in your tests force :) IMO the Garaiya handles the best, very consistent, makes the others feel kinda understeery almost, but they all handle great!

Oddly enough the Garaiya has the least PP for me, at 518 so I dunno if PP restrictions will balance it any better, I eagerly await your results :D no pressure lol!

I reckon with decent setups they'd be closer though, but whatever, the driver is always the biggest factor in laptimes so it should still provide good racing :)

(laps with the NSX were a bit scrappy, not really representative)

If you just run the SuperGT 300 cars as they are without limiting them, the racing will be very close. Some drivers are faster with certain cars, other drivers are faster with different cars. Leave out the LM or other non-supergt cars and the only rule you need is no HP or weight reduction mods. When you start limiting their stock hp you end up with a mess.

In our league, the '06 RX7 and the Celica were the two fastest cars, but they were also two of the cars driven by our two best drivers. Those two cars drive completely differently, one person isn't going to get the same times driving them both...... all these "trial runs" mean nothing.

If enough people turn in times then the "trial runs" can provide useful data. I agree with you that between only 1 or 2 people you're not going to learn much. But if you have a larger group than you can see patterns start to emerge, like maybe the majority of people are always fastest with one particular car, or certain cars do better at certain kinds of tracks.

Plus, discussing lap times and doing trial runs is part of the fun of participating in a GTP league. It's just a video game, so technically all of it "means nothing", but that doesn't mean we can't have fun doing "nothing". 👍

Well said sir. And there will be a limit on the hp due to the fact that not all this cars have the same power after or while they "break in". Im workin on some lap times.

i got a 1:13.XXX at deep forest, and a 1:24.XXX at trial mountain with the Cusco Impreza 08.i might get another second out of her with some tuning.the Lexus and the NSX always seem to get the same times as the Subaru.

I did actually do some unlimited runs, the Garaiya has about 340 bhp which seems too much to me considering the other cars around it, but as I mentioned in my last post drivers are gonna make it vary alot more and make it exciting, so whatever happens it should be fun :)

I went back to Grand Valley East to see what happened with the cars at their spec hp/kg ratings

Base HP-no weight added

Autobacs ARTA GARAIYA '08-----stock 1'03.783
RE Amemaiya ASPARADRINK RX7 '06-----stock 1'03.783 (yes they are really the same)
Subaru CUSCO DUNLOP IMPREZA '03------stock 1'04.078
Autobacs ARTA GARAIYA '03---stock 1'03.819
Toyota APEX MR-S------stock 1'03.808 time from previous test, only +5 hp

The tuned class:

Toyota WEDSPORT CELICA (stock weight 1000 kg)--stock HP 1100kg-100 kg added-103.705 This car ran a 1'03.534 @ 1050 kg
Subaru CUSCO DUNLOP IMPREZA '08----1'03.993 Turbo 2 added power % turned down to 345 hp-548pp
Lexus WEDSPORT IS350-----1'04.071 NA-3 added power % turned down to 345 hp-546 pp

The Lexus is still a couple mph slow but the time is still competitive. With the NA-3 on the Lexus its easy to see if the car is in the correct spec since the redline is higher than stock. The Impreza could be a issue with cheating but if the room is set to 345 hp/1100 kg the difference between Turbo-2 and Turbo-3 is the torque curve.Having this tuning option open might be a incentive to take this car since its so hard on tires.I havent tested to see what the difference in lap times would be but i doubt it would be more than .2 to .3 sec since the Hp is fixed.

I think the Acura NSX RM is an interesting idea but the car cant compete. Its too fast on the straights and too slow in the turns, and it only has a 5 speed transmission. With some more testing i think 8 cars is plenty of choices for a series so im not sure the NSX is needed anyway.

I'm planning a return to Fuji to run with the new specs to see if the field stays this close.

boshuter- we were both right and wrong,im looking forward to trading some paint with you.

I hope you guys have a great series, but I'm gonna stay out of it if you are messing around with the cars like that. :)

I can tell you that the '06 RX7 is every bit as fast as the Celica without crippling the Celica with extra weight. So is the '08 Autobacs, but it's tougher to drive.

for those that dont know, i am competing in Gamesta's gt500 series.the next race is on sunday at noon est. after the race i will open a gt300 practice and if there will be enough interested, a race might break out.i would like to keep the field diverse.until there are no more 300 class cars to choose from, id like to keep no more then two of the same cars on the track at a time. this shouldnt be a problem. i will be using the Cusco Impreza 08.if your interested FR me.

I will be most likley be there after I get the stuff done for the GT500 series I will be most likley Driving The RX7 Aspira Drink

I'll FR you shortly! Will be driving the MRS most likely, however I'm not 100% sure I can make it after Gamesta's GT500 race *sadface* but I'll give it a shot

I'll be trying out the MR-s or the Silvia mainly. But I might also take a few laps in all the cars to atleast get some baselines and contribute final time inputs.

The test at Fuji GT is done and all cars ran within 1 sec.The specs of the test. All cars on RM tires with full aero.

MR-S 315 hp 1125 kg 531pp
RX-7 327 hp 1100 kg 529pp
08 Arta 341 hp 1175 kg 532 pp
03 Arta 330 hp 1125 kg 536 pp
03 Impreza 327 hp 1100 kg 540 pp
03 Celica 322 hp 1100 kg (+100 added) 537 pp
08 Impreza 345 hp 1100 kg 545 pp Turbo-3 added w/power % reduction
08 IS350 345 hp 1150 kg 546 pp NA-3 added w/power % reduction

The turbo-2 on the Impreza gave it too much of a increase in torque compared to the rest of the field so i switched it to turbo-3.

I will be there in a MR-S,Celica,or a 03 Arta-im not sure which yet.
