okay.. I'm sick of this.. ags provided us info about Le Mans.. but the people reporting this, did not even try it.. was it locked...? and why o' why haven't anyone in the world taken a picture of the screen which could've proved that circuit de la sarthe was in..? not here, nor elsewhere.. so, my point is, I'm concerned.. concerned that maybe the track appears just in photomode... and there would be a lot of people with cameras there.. journalists and gt-fans.. just one glance, proving the track is present.. by the way, I still struggle with insomnia because of this.. could someone please help a tired norwegian guy..?

pssst...: if there is pics in here, I'm just too tired to find it.. or my eyes just fell down to rest for a split second so I scrolled through it.. bare with me fellow gt-folks...

Viva la insomnia-resistance...!

Theres no pics, I have doubts myself since thers nothing to prove it other than word of mlouth, you'd think a couple of sites would have the news up by now.

hey, nice to see this thread going at full speed. since u guy swere talking about ABS... force feedback gas and brake pedals would be nice ! anybody think about that ? when you hit the brake pedal all the way in a car with abs it pops up and down realy quickly like in a real car. and for the gas pedal.. on older cars with a direct link from pedal to carb you may feel resistance if you floor it as air is forcing itself down the carb barrel pulling on the butterfly to close it. that would be sweet. o:-) later-

I don't want to turn this into a pantomine, but "Oh yes you can..."

The ABS disable feature was available in Audi's with early versions of the quattro drivetrain system and ABS.

It's a '91 Audi 100 2.3E (5 cylinders), and I'm not mixing concepts. The button clearly reads "ABS AUS", and turns on a yellow light in the middle of the HUD with the same message: "ABS AUS"

Ok, let's stop it now ;)

ok,ok... the reasons why I didn't try the LeMans track was 1) due to the lack of time and 2) I didn't know the Circuit De La Sarthe was actually the LeMans circuit... had I known, i would definately have made more of an effort to get more info... having said that I can ASSURE you that De La Sarthe was a playable track in the AGS version of GT4... incidentally, I don't recall see de la sarthe in photomode... photomode consisted more scenic backgrounds (more cities and landmarks like NY, Shibuya, Canyon, etc... as opposed to actual tracks, though HK wasn't included in photomode)... anyway, will de la sarthe be in the final version? I don't see why not...

I think ABS adds almost an element of "cheating" to the game. Since all the cars have ABS, they're able to stop a lot quicker than their real-life counterparts. I've watched quite a few vids of real cars on various race tracks, and I've noticed they start braking a lot sooner than we do in our games. I think that's the ABS at works.. we can afford to brake late, because we can make it down to the right speed a lot sooner than a real race car can. For that reason alone, I'd like to see the option to shut it off.

It'll also add a greater element of realism, in that you can lock the brakes if you slam them too hard. It'll force us to drive in a more conservative, real-life kind of way.

While we're on the subject of brakes, I wouldn't mind seeing realistic brake wear during races. That's another reason real race drivers brake sooner.. because they've got to keep those brakes working at peak efficiency for the entire race. In GT, what do we care? Our brakes never wear out. I'd like to see it so that if we drive the way we do now, the brakes would be completely gone halfway through an endurance.

Technically not quite right.

ABS does not stop you faster than threshold braking (provided you don't lock up), it does make braking easier. However the main advantage it that it allows you to steer under hard braking.

Its this last factor that allows for later braking as it allows you to steer while still braking.

As has already been mentioned it is fitted to quite a few race cars these days, howver it should not be on some of the road cars (TVR for example).

BTW good point on the brake wear for longer races, doubt we will see it in GT4, but maybe next time around.

Thanks for clearing things up 👍 ...hopefully for everyone this time.

Geez alphabet soup with all the dang traction controls!! :D
I'm pretty certain that whatever they're running over at AGS is not the full consumer version of GT4. It would be a letdown of public anticipation for PD, and as was stated earlier KY wouldn't do just that. I'm betting that whatever they have is an 'almost-finished' version, technically complete but missing some goodies :)

why would it be a let down to show a finished product exactly? because it wasn't shown in japan or the U.S.? i'm sorry, but the only reason that full versions werent shown there was because well, there was no finished product, and it still was quite a long way from completion, but the game went gold a while ago, so there's absolutley no reason the Asia game show isn't the full game.

lol, if you fart, do you go forward?

i don't think so, would be weird if you would feel a flameburst in your steeringwheel. I've had plenty of backfire on my own car, and not once i've felt anything change in my steering wheel, the only thing you notice is a very big bang!

ok, so we all agree this guy is a moron, lets stop wasting time on him.

359 you are the most impatient spazzy fool ive ever talked to. just because some one doesnt notice something you do doesn't make you better or smarter you idiot.

Ok, you seem to be some kind of defender of the lazy and the stupid.
when people get pissed about new threads here there's an actual reason behind it, for example, we have this thing called a "search" button, and tons of "sticky" threads that say "LOOK HERE BEFORE YOU ASK". some people don't care about such things and instead go ahead and post a question that has been asked and answered 1000 times before, and if it hasn't ben asked and answered before then it's in one of those sticky threads.
you also seem to defend people that come here and make up $hit, like that guy that started a thread claiming GT4 had been delayed in japan because a friend that works "somewhere" (he wasn't even specific) told him so...

Then there's your problem with good players, for some reason you think that if some one has driving skills, or is good at a game, he somehow doesn't have a life, well buddy, if your skills are so bad that dissing good players like this make you feel better, then by all means go ahead, but that will just make you look like a moron. belive it or not there are people better than you at driving than you ever will, even if they don't spend one thenth the time playing the game you would, the truth is harash yes, but that's the way it is.

All you've been doing all day is defending people that start stupid threads and call people that know more stuff than you about this game "spazzy fools" or "idiots" and have even used the term sarcasm.
I guess it's about time you put some tought into what you write, because as of right now you've done the following:

- Start a stupid thread (and get flamed because of it.)

- Defend other people that start stupid threads (because you felt hurt by those flames, no one else should feel the burn.)

- Call people that are good at this game geeks with no life.

- Insult people that point out the fact that the thread that was started (or comment) was stupid because there's the search button and the stickies for that, and in bold so you don't miss them.

You are talking a lot of smack for no good reason, i suggest you stop this unless you want to continue to look like a troll, this forum is to discuss the features or anything related to GT4, and when people make irrational posts or comments you'll see reactions from other members, most of the time not positive for obvious reasons.

Not sure if you're an idiot? play it safe and don't post anything. want to post something anyway? then at least bother to check if the answer is allready available, because it most likley is.

One can hope, right? :D. It doesn't quite make sence to debut the finished game at some show... That would kill the curiousity of GT fans as to what is included and what ain't when the home version hits shelves. What is this thread all about? It seems to be people asking, is *whatever* in the game? Some of the resease magic goes away if everyone has prior knowledge, don't you think?
Too bad for me, though, the Japanese will spoil everything once the 28th rolls around

Before I begin, please calm down. Sure, when I started out on GTPlanet a year ago, I was treated like a "n00b." Pennsylvania's own "The359" is actually pretty intelligent with cars and racing. I said something about a certain car, he corrected my mistakes and though I didn't feel good at first, he's a wonderful person. Hand him SOME respect, please. As far as RyosukeGanma goes, some of those pictures I haven't seen before, so thanks for the reminder if they've been posted before. If you feel you're not earning anyone's respect, you've earned mine, brother. Can't we have ANY sense of family on these message boards?

Man. I bet Steve Saleen is going "HOLY S***!" in terms of seeing one of his beauties in GT4. That Saleen S7 is killer, perhaps even the best supercar out of America. It's proven itself in racing, so imagine what more we can do with it. That DeLorean looks pretty nice, though I'm not a big fan of DeLorean.

Believe it or not, I agree with SaintKamus about how we shouldn't make a big fussbudget about backfire from cars. My only deal is, the game is going to be a big hit even without this little detail. It will help in the realism department for sure. It's a nice feature, but I don't think we should be like "GT4 = Best Racing Game of All Time (for the inclusion of backfire)." In fact, I'm more calm. Nice to see it included, but I'm not seriously in love with GT4 with just the backfire. I had that in Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero, and it was no problem. Same said for GT4's backfire.

Other than that, should be a lovely experience.

Oh, and on the AUP deal, isn't there a section that talks about not using the message boards to attack people? Keep your cool on here. Could save you your time on GTP. If you have a problem with someone, just put them on your ignore list (granted they aren't Moderators or something) and continue posting away.

I didn't have to talk about this, I'm not a Moderator, but I'm trying to save you (Ferrari355) from potentially being banned (or at least warned) for not following regulations. I went out of my way to try to help and back up RobertoCRX with Post #468 here.

Oh I can't wait for the RUF CTR on the nordschleife!!!!!!!
Hmm, if the YB’s handling is akin to the CTR2 in GT3…we are set for disappointment.

i KNOW flinx is good, because i doubted him at the start... but now my times are getting very close to his after lots of practice, i didn't call you a bad driver, i called Flinx a good driver, if that makes you feel like a bad driver, well, tough $hit, deal with it.
and by the way, it's not "experts" flaming you, it's regular people who get pissed at posts that are worthles because the posters don't care to find the answers before they start typing BS.

Not sure if this has been asked before but here goes:

For those who played GT4 final in HK, were you able to set the language to english (just like in the japanese demo) ?

When you register to a forum, you're basically agreeing to a contract, whose terms are defined by the webmaster. If the webmaster and his moderating staff ask you to search/look around before you post a topic you think is new, you just do, and you don't go flaming off other members simply hinting you towards proper behavior in the process. Considering the size of this message board, there's a good chance it's already been posted beforehand, anyway.

Now, you better clean your act, because you're already one strike down. Two more and you're out. Have a look at the Acceptable Use Policy and the Terms of Service, they're your new best friends.

ferrari355
is calling me an "idiot" hinting me towards better behavior?

You calling a respected member a "spazzy fool" and an idiot certainly doesn't improve your image, and will tend to make other members treat you like one.
