GT4 delayed to 2005 ?

I hope that this game isn't delayed any longer!

I've known about the release of gt4 for a while now, and the very first release date that i vould remember was november 2003 If i have to wait another stinking year, i'm going to go postal! (jk) I just hope that my wait for this is well spent, for i'm growing tired of gt3(beat it all golds 3 times consecutively!)

There was a small article in last weeks MCV the trade magazine for the UK Computer and Video Games Retail Network that speculated (note the word specultated!!!!) that GT4 could be delayed till Easter 2005 because Sony don't want to bring out the game at the same time as so many other AAA titles such as Killzone and Halo2 this Xmas. Although the game would sell very well even with the added competetion the worry is that limited money in people wallets will reduce the number of potential hardware and software sales if the game was released at a time with such potent competition.

Personnally I don't follow the logic with the agruement as GT4 would sell SHED loads of units between November 2004 and Easter 2005 so waiting till the later date leaves Sony needing to catch up with the potential lost sales.

If the game is ready for Xmas Sony would be mad not to release it.

Yamauchi on Gran Turismo 4 PSP and PS2 status.

Gran Turismo 4 PS2 is still on track for release in November 2004 in Europe. In late May, Sony denied reports that the game had slipped until 2005, despite sources close to Sony telling Eurogamer otherwise. "We haven't been made aware of any changes to the schedule, but Polyphony are such perfectionists that they won't ship the game until it's absolutely ready," a Sony spokesperson said at the time.

There are a lot more sites with different dates, but what you can take from this, is that the date is not fixed yet and subject to change.
 
:lol:.......Amazon.co.uk orignally had it set for April 28th or something a while ago!!! :lol:......gosh they really calculated that wrong!
 
Tacet, thoes arn't official dates, they didn't come from PD or Sony, the only official date is November so far, and yes Sony was hoping GT4 would be ready for last Xmas but they never said it WOULD be.

I know :) Thats why I put "" quotes round official.

What I'm saying is if the sites that are selling it can't agree on a date then there hasn't been one released yet.

See last sentence ;)
 
The earlier a site that sell's online sets the release, the more likely they are in for your pre-order....

So, don't set your hopes on amazon for the date
 
It wasn't finished, and PD were having major problems with the online, loads of good games get delayed and plenty of them have been delayed for over 6 months and a year. But remeber that wasn't an official release date.
 
1yr of delay for adding ONLINE and HDD support, its good to me, i just have bought GT4 Prologue , and DFP, i can wait till DECEMBER THIS YEAR MAX!!!
 
...i dont have GT4P but GTC is very nice too(cuz there´s one track that u can´t find in any GT game at the moment--->AUTUMN RING very nice!!!:))
...but my patience is stil getting smaller and smaller......

..i think let´s end this senseless discussion cuz NOBODY knows s-u-r-e-l-y if GT will be delayed(and i don´t think Sony will allow to miss the x-mas cuz people are buying veryyy much at x-mas so sony shouldn´t miss of course...!) and NOBODY of course WANTS that GT should be delayed so WHY TALKING ABOUT A THING NOBODY WANTS TO KNOW FROM???
...it doens´t interest me if it´ll be delayed or not and i don´t want to hear that´s delayed!!

Errr, can't be found in any GT game yetit was in GT1 and GT2.
