looks great, but i'll be playing 360 by then..

Will be better than any racing games on 360 at that point I think. PGR3 will be good, but will continue its arcade/sim balance. Race Driver 3 will be a sim I hope...

Yeah, foo you're right....But the point is..

I'll have a 360...So I won't WANT to break out a Ps2 to play a game that debuted 3 months after I got my 360

Fair enough. But I think you will miss some out on some great games. I was thinking about getting a 360 at launch (my xbox is the most played console I have), but think I will wait until the new year. I think their will be a price cut within a few months. I very rearely buy into new consoles at Launch, as I still have quite a few games in my collection that I have hardly played.

And even when I do buy a new console, my old ones still see plenty of play time :)

"During a recent visit to Codemasters' UK headquarters we were able to get our hands on work-in-progress PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of TOCA Race Driver 2006 for the first time."

I suppose that one of your main problems, besides reading comprehension, is that most Xbox games won't play on the 360.:trouble:

TOCA always disappointed me, but I still play and buy them all. We'll see how good it really is. I hope its not too difficult.
I'm not really a fan of thier story lines either. What do you guys think??

No my problem is..
I'll be too busy playing PGR3, Gears of War, and the other more attractive looking games.

And think of it this way, how much money has the toca series made? Really...

Do you think Xbox360 will support that game?

I doubt it..

More attractive looking... But none of which anyone has really played yet. If all those games have is graphical polish they can stick em! (I doubt that will be the case though) The Xbox 360 launch titles look quite good. But in the grand scheme of things launch titles are usually quite average. Im holding out for a price drop on the 360 anyway, and also see what kind of support the hard drive gets.

Also with Forza/GT4/MotoGP 3 on Xbox and Far Cry still to play at the very least, plus many games in my collection that have seen little play time I have plenty to keep me going :)

Like halo....Being average....

And.....Sonic The hedghog being average...

And Mario Bro's being average..

And Super Mario bro's being average..

And F-zero being average...

And MGS being average

and Zone of the enders being average...

and Oddword being average...

and DOA 3 being average...

and Max Payne being average...

and PGR being average...

I actually thought a few of thoes were average. MGS was definitely not but it wasn't a PS launch title, Halo, I'm not a fan really, fine if you like it but I wasn't that keen. Oddworld, which one? PGR was average, nice cars but an average game, PGR2 was good, not a launch title. ZoE wasn't a launch title, neither was Max Payne was it? F-Zero wasn't my type of game, can't comment.

The storyline in first TOCA Pro Race Driver just sucked. Having to be butthead punk Ryan McKane was almost too much to tolerate. I found TOCA2's story tolerable.

I agree with you on being disappointed with TOCA as well. I thought Codemasters had the driving physics pretty well nailed with the first TOCA2 (the old BTCC game which included one-make series races on the side). Things got a little too easy with Jarrett & Labonte, Pro Race Driver was poor, the last TOCA2 made up a little ground but still definitely a cut below GT4/Forza/Enthusia as far as physics go. Big improvements are always promised, we'll see.

Another thing not quite to my liking is the "everything but the kitchen sink" approach of the last game, and more of this to follow in TOCA '06. Some of the series were great, other stuff like semi truck racing and the poorly executed rally mode were just races to suffer through before something better was unlocked.

Wow, I totally agree. I completely forgot about the semi-truck and rally races. My mind blocked it out. lol...
.... but a decent racing game is a game I'll enjoy. I'll be more than glad to give it a spin.
