while I was racing my car at Infineon Raceway, now look under the Infineon billboard to the right of the Tower for the dragstrip, you will notice two Outhouses, now go run Infineon on GT4 and when you come around the backside of the tower, you will see those same two Outhouses!!! And the other two outhouses on the backside of the garages, you can see them as you go through the second to the last corner, those are also there, I know because that area is the pits during a drag race and they were right in front of my pit area, I thought I was losing it, till my driver started laughing at it and said hey there in the same spot in the game.

Yes well - It's doesn't really belong in write-ups now does it ?...

Let's try that again...

My B-Spec driver stopped and used those out houses in one of his races. Unfortuantly, the log ride at thunder mountain opened late, and the Cosby kids took to long to get in the pool, and we ended up losing the race. You can now find his corpse in the poo catcher in the out house on the right.

So there are two outhouses that they included into GT4. It's really not that big of a deal. Every car that I've driven in GT4 sounds, feels, & performs very differently to their real life counterparts. The Lexus GS 300 is especially bad. It's so different in GT4 that I wonder how PD could screw it up so bad.

Well, things you do in GT 4 that you wouldn't do in real world.

 I hate it when my B-Spec driver does that, he's got a mind of his own.

Wow, did they ever screw up. Maybe the car you drove was set up differently??

LMFAO! Funniest thing i've read all day. CLASSIC!

a 1997 NSX type S beats the hell out of a Pagani Zonda in the game, both being driven by the CPU. yeah, it's realistic as hell.

well take the stage 4 turbo out of the nsx then fool! :p

I'd love to dude, really, so I could take the absurdness out of the game.
unfortunately, it was in the NA cup.

Actually you would be surprised how some cars are competitive on track when they look so far apart on paper. For example, when Top Gear tested the RX-8 and ran their "power lap", it did a 1:38.8, the same time as both the 350Z and M3. Now on paper you would not expect the RX-8 to compete with an M3, yet it does. I tried this out in GT4 and it equates.

I've also seen footage of an NSX-R running very competitively with a Lamborghini Gallardo and Murcielago, and beating the socks off an M3 CSL, Porsche 911, and 360 Modena. On paper, any of these cars should whip the NSX-R, but in reality they do not.

I have also seen the vid. The NSX was being driven by the most tallented drive IIRC. It also gave up on the last lap because he was pushing it so hard. Although, he was in the lead at the time I think.

Nice digger! What's she run?

Thanks Duke,
It runs 6.40@210mph.
I didnt really think someone could bash this game as hard as quick nick did, but then maybe someone should just send him his money back and take his copy of the game away. I think the only person who could be really this hard on GT4 is the sheik who hosts the Formula One race in Bahrain, he also said he plays the game. Check out these pic's of his garage, he has the real version of GT4 not to mention more Lancer Evo's than even the game has! Well thats if I loaded them right this time

He was the most experienced driver on track, yes, but I don't know if he was the best. Also, he didn't give up, the engine did (it overheated) because he overrevved too much during a downshift on the last lap.

Regardless, my point still stands. Just because two cars don't look competitive on paper does not mean they aren't competitive on track. The original poster's assertion that, because a '97 NSX can beat a Zonda the game must be unrealistic, seems based on his/her assumption that their on-track performance should equate to their paper performance. My point is that paper performance is a poor guideline.

After "proving" in GT4 that the RX-8 can, in fact, beat the M3, I tried again with my 8 vs. a Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nur. I lost by about 1 second over 4 laps at Midfield. That's about 100bhp difference on paper. The Skyline should've left me in the dust.

I didn't want to sound like I was bashing GT4. I love Gran Turismo & have been playing it for about 6 years. I was just pointing out that GT4 isn't super realistic. It has many noticeable flaws, but it's sure better that abusing my car IRL. Nice sling shot BTW.

You forget that the AI is not programmed to drive everycar in a race in the exact same way and that each car has different characteristics. Besides you are supposed to be able to beat them anyway so they always make mistakes.

Just like in real life I could beat both a boxter and a C6 with my S2000 when they were driven by begginers and now I can beat s2000s in my smart roadster (at the track) when the s2000s is driven by an ocasional racer.

Well, I joke saying that GT4's AI purposely sucks. They race to win, even if it means ramming into your ass to win. You play tough and play hard. Besides, "Pro Race Driver" had the worst AI I've ever raced against. These are dudes who'd rather ram you off the road than let you win the race. Don't believe me? Rent the game then come back to me about this.

No game will be seriously realistic. That goes for Forza, Enthusia, Sega GT, nobody. Now sure, an NSX likely won't knock off a Pagani Zonda unless one or both drivers screwed up. Then, I think GT4 is realistic while not being incredibly tough. GT4 didn't have to be pick-up-and-play. It could have been for anyone who possesses an International Racing License or an FIA Super License. It would have been too tough for a child or completely hell for a "fanboy" or "fangirl" (why do you hear about "fanboy" more though? Always wondered...). The realism is pretty nice. For a guy whose only driving experience includes some driving lessons and racing at an indoor karting track, it's pretty good.

ditto!
we all know from playing gt that the zonda handles like a soggy sponge unless tuned anyhow.

and...
it is posible that when racing the ai that they all have different experience levels too.

(why do you hear about "fanboy" more though? Always wondered...).
The sort of geekery usually associated with the term is typically comprised of a male-biased audience.

Aaaanyway, the AI seems rather strange to me. On one hand, my B spec driver is a total whimp and will never ever pass agressivly or hit anyone under any curcumstances. On the other hand, the AI always smashes into me and often drives as if I don't exist at all.

None of my tests in the RX-8 were against the AI, all against a human competitor (a friend of mine who drove every lap competitively, plus no offs from either of us).
