I tried one more time and as I sit here on the dashes of doom I’m going to write this week off.

My boss is over for the first time this quarter so I’m in the office this week from now so no racing time and zero motivation at the moment.

TV is awful, just awful. Barely been a good show since Breaking Bad. The odd highlight but mostly rubbish.
Sons of anarchy? Californication? Manifest? Blacklist?

Or if shorter or more cerebral/less cerebral

Scorpion, person of interest timeless, fringe

I can go on, there is a whole bucket load of very high production values stuff on BBC god even Reacher or Jack Ryan are worth a watch let alone slow horses or severance. All exceptionally good and we are a couple that suffered Lost in our mid 20’s and raged when it WAS purgatory!

TV isn’t bad, committing to a show or finding them is harder now!

SOns of Anarchy was OK Manifest was terrible on all fronts, Blacklist put me to sleep.

I don't mind the Dexter iterations, Alien Earth was OK, first squid Game was good but otherwise on my "sit with the wife" nights Friday through Sunday (which is why my racing week ends on a thursday), I open the laptop cand catch up on work or whatever.

Black mirror and severance you might like, but I think there is a lot of good shows out there if you stop trying to be smarter than they are and get the stories.

I struggle with it personally but you have to switch off a bit to enjoy it, much like GT

I've never been a fan of the Redbull cars, fun race though, had a 1.42 qualifying and was pole for the race and walked'em by like 6sec.
Should have been more then just 4 laps.

Well I guess I won't be able to do a Daily Race A session today because I had two sessions where the matchmaking didn't work like the countdown went to zero and nothing happened like I was still stuck in doing qualifying sessions so I'm gonna try tomorrow to see if it changes.

At least I was able to clock in a time of 1:41.4 for my qualifying time.

That's awesome Mate. We had the standard Reverse A track for TT about 2 months back with the BMW Z4 car. Loved that TT so much as I love Sardegna.

@NevilleNobody If you like sitcoms, "The good place" is an underrated very satirical one to give a try.

Edit: Even if I don't see myself racing this weekend, I might give a try to Gr2 in Autopolis. Last time I had a nightmare Saturday and a blasting revenge Sunday there in Gr4. So, maybe...
I wouldn't bother if I was you! After the relatively clean racing at Willow Springs last week, this weeks Race C is disgustingly dirty ☹️

Today even the server seems slow. In fact during the start of Race A, it just hung. I even waited 10 minutes so as to not quit the race. The game then continued to opt out of Race A but the progress icon just kept rolling on & on. I had to restart my PS4 to come out of it.

Completely agree. 4 laps is quite less. So less that when waiting for the next Race A, it's a bit more than 10 minutes of waiting time. I feel 6 laps would've been apt.

One thing's for sure - if taking part in Race A, 9 out of 10 times either Your DR or SR rating will get negatively affected. I was S in SR but now have come down to A because all around users play bumper cars.

It's a shame that many aren't realizing how fun Race A can be. The Red Bull car being easy to maneuver coupled with RH tyres can help so much in honing racecraft through precision & clean driving.

Will have to switch to Race B to uplift my DR & SR ratings now. Race A seems like a DR/SR suicide kind of a place.

Finally got around to doing Race A and also congrats to me for reaching 1000 Sport Mode race starts today.

Race #999 I almost had the win but my head just wasn't ready yet as I just woke up during that time.

Then Race #1000 came and it was kind of uneventful at best because I was on pole and apart from nearly bottling the race on the last corner before the end of lap 3, I was able to convert my 1000th race into a win.

Then in one of the races I encountered @D_Dragline and he was quick in the race but one of the DR B drivers gave us a run for our money as he was quick too like it's as if he should be in DR A or dare I say DR A+ with the pace he has.

Yeah Race A, bit of a fiasco. Does my head in honestly, great to be using a different car, some variety, they are fun to drive and not too powerful but the track is awful. Nothing but kinks and awkward bottlenecks, imagine this car at say Magny Cours or Donnington ...... there's too many gimmick tracks in this game, need more regulation type tracks like NGP.

I was thinking about this. Just did one race A yesterday - clean 3/4 laps to 2nd place after the minor rubbing on lap1. Zero off tracks and ofcource zero penalties. Yet my SR dived from high/full SR S to mid SR A. 😬 Not going to ruin my SR in there even though it is a nice race and car.

Edit. I currently seem to be sitting at #666 in the race A quali. Maybe that is the reason. 😳

Totally agree, would be a nice race if not for the other people in it 🤣. Probably would’ve been better as a time trial. Love driving the car in VR.

I am really really curious as to why they put the RB juniors at Sards, it’s basically a 1 make version of the grind race but shorter. With the same “fairness” play attached….

The races are a horror show, I managed to get a few laps in (work, life, AWS etc) and almost on to the 1:40s with a DR B/B now after this race.

I’m starting pole by almost 1.5 seconds AND still people will get it so wrong or so greedy.

I think the false sense of speed and in these lobbies a lot of twitchy controller players makes way more frantic than it needs to be.

But again, racecraft or more appropriate is race anticipation goes out of peoples heads, this is a very weird racing game at times

Glen, I totally hear your frustration. After my capitulation to C/D during Le Mans/Catalunia's weekend I've spent some time in those (let's say chaotic) lobbies, trying to get back where I think (wadr) I belong. Since it was a while, I really wasn't anymore used to some over optimistic moves, neither to those murdering ones. I mean, the mother of idiots is always pregnant, but nowadays she seems waiting always for twins or triplets births. It tucked me a while to assess and take countermeasures.
I'm still at something like 3/4 DR B (at least full SR S) and I can tell that I stopped defending positions, really. I let whoever pass (giving the max room I can), put some pressure and wait, even being way much faster. The mistake always comes sooner or later. Then, if the guy resists, hat off and focus on next race. I always thank for being punted without animosity, just saying "thanks", if it's the case as it was many times in Willow. Basically I race with my ego out of the room. I'm starting also since Willow to better look to my tyres. In fact, being impossible to start on pole with hards without getting caught and killed (me in the M6 against a pletora of Subarus), I started to manage the softs always for 11-12 laps without being undercut and still being able to push on hards for the remainder of the race. Avoiding short races helps also. If you're stronger pace wise, a 1-1.5 s slower assassin can't keep up in the end, maybe in 4 laps (with luck and dirty moves); not in 10-15.

@Gurzu honestly we play a different game to these people, we see things they don’t even think to look at. They just don’t get it, from the side wards knocks to the blocking or just being quite frankly bad drivers that have to use brake lights as markers, we race to a different standard.

That said we are where we are and it’s up to us to bring those from the front or the back races home.

I will say this weeks races do not favour good QT as all of them work better from the back if you want DR and positions.

What in god's name are you doing at DR-B? You could drive blind folded and still be faster than B drivers. Racing standards are generally poor but this tracvk in Race A is utter garbage. It's full of kinks and bottle necks, just a terrible choice.

Biggest weakness int he game is the lack of proper race tracks with proper corners. How much would Oulton Park or Eastern Creek or Turkey charge for a license? Cannot be that much surely?
