GT4 needs to stop delaying

first it was march, then it was June, and now it's Q3? wtf!!

Sony has never released an actual concrete date. All the other dates were just off online stores making inaccurate guesses. The Q3 is off an Official Playstation Site but is still rather sketchy.

To cut it short, how can you say the game has been delayed when Sony never released an actual release date?

hmm..it's understandeble that a lot of people get pissed of, no it's not a joke for some of us. i think sony shoulnd have annouced gt4 maybe 6 months prior to release or do a fly by like mgs3, give some info and than cut off everything and develop the game. gta vice city for ps2 was heard of a few weeks before it was released, thats a good strategie, personally i'm not pised here, but i can understand why some are.

I don't think it's going to slip anymore because it's slipped nearly a year already. At first they were talkin about a release after Christmas of 2003. Now it's autumn 2004. I think it's worth the wait because i want the game to be as perfect and bug-free as possible, with the most available content as possible with the release of the 40-gig harddrive.

If you will recall, we had the same delays waiting for GT3. PD and the media was just more circumspect in name release dates.
I guess if you look at it from the other side. PD, has "made it". There was a Clamor for GT3, but the feeding frenzy is absolutely feverish for GT4.

The way I remember, it wasn't this long of a delay. Although it could be because GT3's release seems so long ago. I don't mind though. If they take their time it's gonna be more of a complete game. We will be able to enjoy and appreciate it that much more.

its this simple guys and gals, if you want something tha feels rushed, like nfsu then they woulod come out with it right now, but they dont want that. they want to work out every detail so its perfect. Would you rather waith 3 more months or get soething that will not be the best it could have been.

yea it would be very good if they made the harddrive useble for gt4, maby download new tracks or cars, or upgrades of the gt4 server, that would be very nice

Hmm, downloadable cars and tracks would definitely be a big plus, but I wouldn't want them to be modelled (cars mainly) by anyone other than PD, look at the NFS games, there are Bugatti Veyron's that people have made that look like a lawnmower, and people have made Aston Vanquishes that can hit 500Mph in 5 seconds. If people get a chance to make their own cars in GT4, it's a dead cert you'll be seeing car like that in no time, not to mention many will be of a significantly poorer quality than PD's models.

Well like with NFS also you can simply avoid downloading cars that have stupid performance or are badly modeled etc... Personally I'd want any downloadable cars (By PD or others) to be the same standard or near enough as those that come with the game otherwise I wouldn't download 'em. Not that I could probably model to PD's standard without a bit of practice but as long as the editor/importer/exporter was easy enough to use I'm sure I could make one good enough for my own use atleast.

Also GT is a game reknown by realism rather than the arcadeness of NFS and hopefully this would be reflected in the quality of 3rd party models.

And obviously unofficial cars shouldn't be allowed online.

The delay of GT4 is no doubt caused by the online game play feature. Great, I have to wait for PD to fix a feature of the game that I'll never use.

I wished they issued a non-online game version of GT4. We probably would be playing it by now. Hmmm?
