Actually, that sounds like a great plan for it to release when I get finished with this semster because I'm gonna get wasted during finals to forget this semster and then it will be all good after that because I'll have GT4. 👍

Kinda funny...

People put down a million dollars on a 16/4 Veyron a year ago and the release date is still announced in a YEAR!!! That's like 2 years of waiting for some... 1 Million dollars for potentially the greatest car in the world.

GT4 will come eventually... It will be well worth the wait.

I have 1 question though. If they had developped the entire game far enough to release a Prologue, then the official one shouldn't be too far off. The actual cars aren't the long part of the game development, the game engine has to be so thuroughly refined...

i bet you its more that they are spending more timeon the onine play, than the actual engin, cause like you said, they already made the prologue, the only thing not in there was the online playability,

There was alot mising from Prologue, it wasn't the final graphics engine, the graphics probably won't be improved, but there were bugs in prologues graphics that should be sorted before GT4's release. Also, the physics engine wasn't 100%, it's was close but not quite finnished and then you have all the games features, pit crews, the extra cars, tracks, sounds, and one of the most important bits, the AI which needs alot of work on top of what it's like in prologue. And then theres the online play which while it will take up a large chunk of time it's hardley the only thing left to do.

i dont think anyone here is still in school, but if they are i dont think they need you to tell them to do their hw lol, what does that have to do with the topic? absolutley nothing

actually. it has alot to do with this topic, the release of gran turismo 4 and im saying until then is when school is out so to keep time on your hands do hw and stuff, although im not TELLING them what to do, im implying that is something that SHOULD be done ;)

Yeah kids, do your homework and get good grades, or you'll end up working in a dead end job.

And if any of you get good grades and become really succesful, remeber who's giving you this advice right now, and I'd be more than happy to accept any gifts as a thank you (especially if it's money). .

I believe the wait for GT4 was actually more like July 2001 to Fall 2005 :D

yea by all means dont become a bum at a dead end job, but i dont think that gt4 will come out during summer, probably right before chrismas season, when the new year of school is on

what i dont understand is why they didnt release Prologue ouside Asia, knowing as they sure did that the "real thing" would take all this time!!!
(Anyway, my korean copy of GT4P will be here next week:D )

Seems to be so many good games around the corner, but alas, none ever seem to arrive.

GT4/Half Life 2/Doom 3 were all originally supposed to be out for xmas & there probably more likely to come out next xmas :irked: Well Doom3 might be come out relatively soon, but I won't hold my breath.

Wonder if the Getaway 2 will be out by xmas. :odd:

im surprised to hear you say getaway 2, not to many people played that game, i thought it was one of the best graphics wise games out there. loved it, dident know there was a second one coming though

actually no as we didnt see one bit of the game until may 2003.

with gt3 i posted the date in which it was unveiled, them its american release

i think posts like this should automatically get deleted, there is no poin to them, its not going to come out any faster, simply because you said that they need to stop delaying

Big games like this one usually have to go through a lot of translation and adding of features. Since this will be a bigtime game and not a half-a$$ racing game, you can surely expect that not just some of us Americans will want GT4, but also others around the world. Many of you are not from America, so you all may get the game in your native language.

So to response to "GT4 needs to stop delaying," I'll say it like this: PD is trying as hard and as fast as they can to get the game to be as perfect as possible. When the game is at its highest quality, other game makers will try to better GT4. Why? Because Gran Turismo helped define and enhance the racing game. When you can create and enhance a genre of any kind, you are bound to competition. The one-up game plays into full effect. Either companies will try to take elements from GT4 and make their own game. Some might even have options and menus that look like GT4, but a totally different game.

So in other words, and I hate to admit this, but it's true... whatever it takes for Polyphony Digital and Kazunori Yamauchi to get GT4 to be more than a hit game, they'll leave no stone unturned. Whatever they come up with, you have to applaud their efforts. Even if the game comes out in February 27th 2005, we just have to wait. (Maybe PD is looking at this site and gathering ideas).
