Not sure if this should be posted in GT4 or Prologue section, but its more likely to be read here regardless for those that are interested. :) Before it was hinted now its gonna be released? GT4 PAL September??

EXCLUSIVE: GRAN TURISMO 4 PROLOGUE CONFIRMED FOR EUROPE!

Sony bows to public demand, with an exclusive limited edition version of the demo heading to Europe this May

17:31 Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today confirmed plans to release a version of Gran Turismo 4 Prologue in Europe later in the Spring, in a shock about-turn prompted by huge demand from the public.
Speaking exclusively to CVG earlier today, a SCEE spokesperson said: "We are planning to ship GT4 Prologue in Europe - it's due by the end of May."

And in a massive boost for European gamers, who have been left waiting while Japan has been enjoying the title for months, the European version of Prologue will pack a range of special bonus features.

"It will very much be a limited edition version," the spokesperson said. "In addition to the game it will come with a personal message from Kazunori [Yamauchi - creator of GT and industry rock star] and a special 'Making of... DVD'." We were also told the title will retail at a "reasonable price point".

With the full version of Gran Turismo 4 now not due until September (having originally been scheduled for release last year), the European version of Prologue will serve as "quite a cool bonus for real GT fans," according to the spokesperson. "We've been very open about when GT4 is coming, but we have this product that GT4 core fans want, so we've decided to release with added value. Our big pillar title is still [the full version of] Gran Turismo 4."

Back in October 2003, SCEE debunked suggestions of a European release for GT4 Prologue, a spokesperson revealing to us: "We can confirm that GT4: Prologue will be a sneak preview disc released solely for the Japanese market in time for their holiday season".

But the repeated delays of the full version of the game coupled with an outcry from fans for a PAL version of Prologue has inveigled SCEE into this shock about-turn, now releasing the title in Europe.

The spokesperson could neither confirm an exact price nor give an indication of numbers, but did state: "It will be very limited edition."

GT 4 Prologue is a teaser version of Polyphony Digital's massive PS2 racer, featuring four circuits from the final game - the Tsukuba circuit, Fuji speedway, Italian urban district and the Grand Canyon - and a range of tasty motors on which gamers can cut their teeth while waiting for the final, online-enabled version due this September. It's unclear whether the European version will boast any Euro-specific vehicles or tracks.

People power: it works, see? As soon as we have a finalised date and price we'll let you know.

Is this only for Europe, because it would be damn nice for it to come down here like GT Concept did. A making of video eh....cool!

Er, what about the US??
I bet we'll get screwed again. Kaz must hate us, or has the wrong idea about us.

If he didn't, I see GT4p coming to the US with an american version of GTC along with it. That would be very smart. Very, VERY smart!

Ya hearing me, Kaz? ;)

Besides Japan, I think we, being america, are the 2nd higest users of gt. i know all of my friends know and like GT1,2,3. and hopefully GT4P, GT4, and like Solid LIfters said maybe gtc.

Sounds very interesting. At first I wouldn't spend any money on the prologue, but with the constant GT4 set back, I really don't know. I guess it depends on price, features, etc, but it would be nice to do some GT4 during summer holidays. :D

I hope Sony isn't doing this, because of a later PAL release of the GT4. That would be ****.

We've been very open about when GT4 is coming.

When Sony releases GT4-P in Europe in the next time, i don´t think that GT4 will be released before winter (i think GT4 will be a christmas-present)!

Ciao Joe
;)

Well even if GT : P doesn't come to the US, I don't think you'd be missing much, its really just a glorified demo with license tests. Even GTC had more content (Don't worry most people say your not missing much anyway, but imo the handling better than GT3s). Besides unlike us Europeans they've got to give you lot NTSC mode ;)

I think xmas 2004 is a very likely possibility for Europe (& probably US as well) I think its already been proven a global release is unlikely (just look @ GT : P), its probably more likely September will be Japan's release I would have thought :(

I'm currently guessing a Juli release for Japan and perhaps the US, and a september release for Europe. But we'll see. So far the announcements for GT4 Prologue have at least been correct. When it was announced for 4th of december in Japan, it was actually in the stores 2 days early ... :D

Regarding the EU release of GT4: P, while US won't.

Seems you're experiencing the same we europeans get to know quite so often.

Suikoden III is one of those games us europeans will "never" see arriving here, unless you get a NTSC console/chip your PAL one of course.

Disgaea is also one of those. Now, on the other hand, they finally decided to ship it to europe.

But as we all know, companies only see profit/expenses.

I'm not trying to say "sucks to be you" or anything. I just wanted to say that I know how you guys in America feels.

Anyway, back to GT4: P.

Sure, this might be a glorified demo with license tests and a couple of cars. I'm one of those nutty collectors, I for one will be chasing after a copy of it anyway.

...And I'm probably not the only one ;)

Yeah well, it's still 64 cars, 5 completely new tracks and no less than 46 licences ... 64 is more than 1/4th the collection of cars in GT3, more brand new tracks than GT3 had over GT2 if I'm not mistaken, and only 2 licences less than GT3. So for a 'glorified' demo it's not half bad ... ;)

WTF!!!!!!!!! I complaining!! I live in the US and I want my GTP, waaaa! Make some noise america, maybe they'll bring it to us soon if we make a lot of noise!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Im with you NEMO , AHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG COMON KY. Bring on the GT4P BABY.

Yay, I am so happy as I assume Australia will get the game too seeing as we got GTC as well. Too bad america but now you know how we feel getting games months after you lot and not even getting some games at all.

Thank you PD!

i hope us aussies get it, but it is a very limited run so we may not

If we don't get it, we can alway's buy it from the UK or something and it will be in english! But, I doubt I would et it from over sea's because it woulkd cost alot of meney's.

i dont think i will be importing it ethier, does the UK PAL PS2 games work on the AUS PAL PS2's??

hey guyz form north america, i just read this on gamespot and it's bad news:

A North American release of the game ahead of the Gran Turismo 4 launch this fall is, we're sorry to report, looking increasingly unlikely.

they're talking about prologue, so UNLUCKY!!!!!
