This makes no sense, US gets fricken raped by PD! We didn't get GTC2001 or 2002, now we ain't getting GT4:P. Reason why it doesn't make sense is that the US moves more copies than Europe or Japan. I realize it isn't much, but the fact that the game is already 5 MONTHS LATE!!!, and getting later.... Just total crap for us folks in the US. Yeah I do got a JP PS2 so I could jsut goto www.Ncsx.com and order GT4:P, but I ain't shelling out $50 to some asshole who thinks it's funny to charge $50 for something that is suposed to sell for $30..... and then only use the crappy shipping and expensive at that..... But after all these delays and the US getting duped outta 2 GT games and 1 demo that UK and JP getting, US should get it first! We will buy the most, and play the most. We will sell the damn game out in like a week! It will be like trying to get a PS2 on October 26th, 2001!!! lol:lol:

Ya know nothing against you guysnin a da UK, but us US folks are prolly responsible for around 50% of total GT sales worldwide, so for Pd to dupe us like this is really not fair and really them shooting themselves in the foot cuz hnow people are very impatient and basically $50 for a game that might be awesome, but was over a year late........ I dun think that's very fair. Cuz I know Rockstar games will have GTA San Andreas out in October like they said! Maby not te 19th exactly, but within a week on the 19th, or maby earlier. They were right on with Vice City and 3 so I have no reason to doubt em! They keep their word!

Of course, PAL games will work on any PAL PS2.

@viper - GTC was a limited run and we got it still.

Anyway a local games store near me actually import most of their games from UK so I'll just buy it from them thus avoiding having to pay for importing a copy in etc. They actually have an online store so that any Aussies can order from them, its www.dvdcrave.com.

Guys, unless the PAL EU release of GT4 Prelude edition is vastly different from the JP release, there is nothing too much to get excited/ dissapointed over. Yes, the tracks (all 5) and cars look awesome, however the WHOLE game is license tests! The only racing you can do is Arcade, which is fun for a while, but with no tuning and no prizes there is only so much you can do.... Also, the control would need some work. The rally stages felt like you were driving on wet glass!

One thing is for sure though, Tsukuba Circuit is drifting heaven - shame the physics of the Prelude edition won't let you drift :(

I am as much a GT nut as anyone else, and since finishing this title about two months ago, I haven't picked it up again. I just can't wait for the real thing!!

Cheers,

Well if you stopped playing Prologue already, then you're not as much of a GT nut as me!

Driving on wet glass? I think you got a bad copy.

I'm still driving Prologue too. :)

And what made anyone think that the US sells the most copies of GT? Because the EU beats the US in that department, by far, last time I saw any numbers. Which is probably why GTC was released in Europe and not in th US. I also wonder what you guys mean with limited run, because GTC was never such a thing and I highly doubt Prologue to be that either. The latter had already sold 778.000 copies by the end of January btw, so that's probably part of the reason they'll release it in Europe. The other is probably that the EU imported the most copies of this game, and that this game is solely responsible for getting a great number of people over here changing their PS2s to make them import ready. I'm sure that worries Sony ... :)

Ah....

Finally some good GT news. I'm starved on new GT excperiences so I'll settle with this for a while. Sonys trick will work on me. :)

Hmm yeah, surely if GT : P has the Fina McLaren in the Europe release then theres a good chance it will make it into the final game I would have thought.

If McLaren was gonna kick up a stink I wouldn't expect to see it in GT : P (Euro), however of course it might not make it into GT : P (Euro) anyway :irked:

Probably, although knowing Sony I'd expect anywhere from £20-£30 much like GTC, which was another cut down version & 'limited' edition.

£24.99 i think

GT4:Prologue is still bigger than Auto Modelista, I think. If not, very close in size.

Yeah never thought about it like that, anyway I am getting sick of playing GTC so I need something new even if it is limited in features its still the closest thing to GT4 and thats the reason why I'll be buying it.

Oh and to any Aussies I would assume GT4P will cost like $50 as did GTC when it was released.

yeah $50 bucks sounds right, IF we get it

i am hoping

i just read this
Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced that Gran Turismo 4 Prologue will not be released in the US, scuppering expectations of fans who had assumed the taster game was bound for their shores.

sorry US

Now if I get the game in europe it wont work in my PS2 here in the US right? I'll need a mod chip or whatever.....

Also, I´m wondering, if they have quoted End of May for GT4P for the UK, and September for the final full version of GT4, given the expected and usual "PD Delay" that must mean sort of... June or July for GT4P to hit the Uk shops. So thats like 2 or 3 months before the full version, so How MANY PEOPLE WILL Actually buy GT4P if the full version hits only 2 or 3 months later. As sombody else mentioned abve, that will mean more expensesthan profit surely? Not even sure if I would buy that myself. Somethings not adding up right here... Maybe GT4 will be evenlater? Also it is strange that everywhere else gets it again but not the US?!? What´s that all about??

So my question: Is this news in www.computerandvideogames.co... anywhere else? How come it´s only on the web and not in pulic press, or am I wrong?

I can´t wait for GT4 to appear, I hope it won´t be even more delayed ...

N.

It's not in mags yet because the mags haven't gone to print yet. You'll notice that this months mags generally have last months news if you keep up with it all online. Also GT4P won't be delatyed, the game is finnished, all it needs is translating and changing to PAL and between now and the end of May, theres more than enough time.

Think it was also from computerandvideogames.com where it was first heard (if I remember correctly) that GT : P wouldn't be available outside Japan. (Although it did come out in China & Korea I believe).

I think GT:P is just a bit of a cash in tbh, also a promotional game for the GT Force Pro Wheel to keep logitech happy. ;)

Well, it sorta upsets me. First im getting a kickass wheel that i can not use to its full extent with any game. Hmmm.. Yeah good idea blokes. :D

Sony has advised Gran Turismo 4: Prologue will be released in New Zealand in May. Gran Turismo 4: Prologue has been exclusive to China and Japan since its release in December, but the latest delay of the full version of Gran Turismo 4 to September has seen the game converted to PAL.

There is no news of a US version, indicating the US may miss out on Prologue as has happened with Gran Turismo Concept.

Gran Turismo 4: Prologue is the first game to support new features of Logitech's official GT4 wheel, the Driving Force Pro. Sony has released 190 wheels in New Zealand for sale this week and more stocks are expected in a few weeks.

Gameplanet will be bringing you a full review of the Driving Force Pro and Gran Turismo 4: Prologue along with a hands-on report on the new 900-degree steering lock and increased force feedback the wheel offers over its predecessor, the Gran Turismo Force. In the meantime, check out our report from Joe Racer later tonight on his win in the 2004 Australian Gran Turismo i.Link Championship. Go Kiwis!

That's it, i'm pre-ordering. :D

AU will be getting it also! yay..

not available to pre-order yet, I dont think a price has been set.

I will be getting this the day its released, can finally test out the DFP!

I dont care if the game is getting released a week after prologue - I will still buy it (obviously its not, just wanted to say I would get it either way - esp if it contains a bonus disc )

one NZ site had a pre-order option for GT4:P available, I cant access the link because the sony forums are down, but they had it for $109NZ!

nuckin' futs!

btw, this really is a slap in the face to american GT fans...

first concept, and now prologue.. what the hell!?

sorry guys...

I hope it's not $109, as it's smaller in size than GT Concept (about 29 cars less) and Concept was only $80.00. :/

I'd still buy it if GT4 came out the next week also. :)
