tokyo xtreme racer 3 is quite a doozy too, and for 20 bucks its quite a deal. IMO, its a great game and will probably hold me down til gt4 comes out.

More cars, more tracks, a few more little extras and little bit better graphics....thats all :(

And the problem there is?

So, if it wasn´t for the graphics and "a few little extras" you´d still be playing GT1 then... !:odd:

Maybe not GT1 but GT2 - Yes. Actually i am playing GT2 from time to time and enjoy those muscle cars...

Already forgot GT3

I want those damn skidmarks:mad:  And i want to take rwd or even 4wd evo and start spinning , making burnouts all day long....ahh that rubber art :D

And some drag racing with other players online shood be cool too.....

In other words , if its the same GT3 only more cars / tracks then GT4 will be boring after 1 month.....and i don't want that :banghead:

If it's the same as GT3 but with as many competitions as promised and as many cars and tracks then it will last alot longer than GT3 did, and that's still going nearley 2 years along since I bought it.

HANDLING my friend! Gran Turismo is all about HANDLING!!! For me that is...

Obviously variety is always welcome but if the handling of the cars in GT4 is as good a leap from GTConcept as GTConcept was from GT3, then I´ll be more than satisfied.

I couldn´t care less about skidmarks or burnouts really.

how is hte handling in GTconcept like? It never got shipped over here in North America.....=(

from what I heard, the handling in GTC tends to be more on the oversteer side.......

My local game shop said it's not out in HK until the 18th Dec.

I found it to understeer more than GT3 but the cars settings can be changed, the cars feel closer to the limits as well, when the rear slips out it's herder to avoid a spin than in GT3, still controlable but another step towards realism.

Hmmm I found cars to oversteer more than in GT3 & in my op the handling in GTC is a lot better. Driving the cars is a lot more exciting too :)

I can't stand playing GT3 these days, GTC has better handling + gfx, GT1 + 2 have more cars & better races + cups.

Well, you could say that the cars oversteer more, but that´s a consequence of much, much better weight transfer of the cars than in GT3.

In GTConcept while braking from high speeds, if you step on the brakes that little bit harder while cornering, the car (very much like in real life) will oversteer... badly! More so in a downhill.

Also when recovering from oversteer, you can FEEL the whiplash of the back of the car (you can actually feel it in the wheel too, which is AWESOME!) as the rear tires suddently grip and weight is tranfered from one side to the other abruptally, again just like the real thing!

The greater physics of the game engine also make a Scandivanian Flick much more harder to perform than in GT3, and you can now induce proper lift-off overstreering during mid-corner.

All in all, it made GT3 feel almost dull...
It´s that great!

Hey on the sites that Soman posted ( www.lik-sang.com www.play-asia.com )

Im sure that you are going to need a mod-chip to play import games. Plus its going to be in Japanese correct

Well since it is an import what would be a good mod-chip or CD or anything to play import games (my PS2 is a Vers. 4)? (emphisis on no soldering :indiff: )

I'm interested in the reasons...why they can't include skidmarks?
GT3 replays are AWSOME but when you see no skidmarks, then you feel they aren't so real...and thats annoying thing indeed...

PD want "real" simulation but they don't want to include things that make games look real  And why? why why?

Ok PD said "there will be a lot new things"..... so what can they do? No skids, No drag , No damage , what then will be "new" ??

New menu? New garage? New buttons or sounds? A think physics in GT3 were more than "enough" for real driving and physics update won't be something completely new....

Ofcourse we will see when we get final version but.....again more promises and bits of changes? :odd:

There might be drag racing, they can't have damage due to licencing issues, a lack skid marks arn't a big blow anyway, I've yet to see convincing looking skid marks in any racing game. New things will be the new GT Universe mode, PD have said they are going to overhaul the entire game, there will be around twice as many modifications to do and setup. Over 600 cars (It is 600 not 500, GT4 will have more cars than any previouse GT game, GT2 had around 600), over 100 tracks. I've read somehere that GT4 will have over 100 more cups than GT3 had.

So we have tonnes of new cars and tracks
Twice as many upgrades and settings
Tonnes of new cups
Improved graphics
Improved physics
And a revised game mode, and this is only whats been confirmed. Not much new there then.

Yeah pfff if I had preordered I'd be cancelling already ;)

Skidmarks won't be in, as theres a lack of memory in the PS2, which only has 32MB's I believe (Which is nothing these days). Serves Sony right for being scroodges.

I couldn't care less about skidmarks tbh, aslong as theres smoke I'm happy :) Grew bored of doing donuts etc & leaving rubber down in my NFS1 + 2 days.

Skid marks are pretty cool imo, nice to leave a big long rubber trail behind you, just looks abit...weird when you slide and leave nothing but white smoke.

Grand Prix Legends! Here you go.....the best skidmarks imho.
If its the lack of ram then yes.....thats sad :( But i've seen other PS2 games with skidmarks....so we can suppose that GT4 takes all the ram and no left for skids...:(

Anyway we'll see what we have when we get GT4 :)

I'm so tempted to order it now off Lik Sang, but i'd rather ask my usual import shop.

well skidmarks would add a very nice touch to the realism in the game. But almost every game i have played something always restricts skidmarks.

1. You can only make put so much rubber on the asphalt before you start creating "invisible" skidmarks.
2. You happen to create many skid marks last lap and you hope to race past them to see what you did only finding out that they were erased.

If polyphony digital would add skidmarks them would want it to look realistic and "simulated" so they wouldn't disappear period. Its possible that they didn't add skidmarks because it would take up too much RAM from the PS2 (you got 6 cars in a race).

So there second best idea is probably having skid marks already in place. (the racing line)
