GT4 really does kill gt3 in graphics imo

I played gt4p today for awhile and decided to compare gt4p to gt3 and gt4p does everything so much better than gt3. Everything looks more realistic and jaggies are hardly noticed. I'm truly impressed. What do you all think?
 
I think that you should go back to the official playstation boards and post the same, thread over and over again debating 2D and 3D Canyons and jagged edges. Enough is enough.
 
I think I agree with Alphagigo on this one.

You are so amazed by the graphics in a video game it's amazing. You've made close to twelve-thousands threads concerning the matter. It's redundant and no one cares.

The Grand Canyon looks marvelous, yes. The graphics look great. The end.

I don't think I'm the only one hoping you don't make another 12,000 threads about the graphics engine used in GT4 before it's even released.

Yeah I think likewise, GT1 had higher fps, better draw distance, & the car reflections didn't look as daft. :)

GT2's car handling was better though.

But this isn't about GT1 or 2. GT2 had more detailed car models than GT1 and some ways it did look better.

ofc GT4 looks better, it's about 2/ 3 years NEWER lol

if both were side by side i'd probs struggle to tell which was which tbh
 
GT4 is better, the car models are exactley the same as the ones in GTC exept the convertibles, the tracks are improved on GT3 and GTC so yes it's better but by much, I really don't care much it's that small a difference from GTC.
 
Naturally GT4 should look better, and already does look better than GT3, and the game isn't even finished yet.....so we'll see how good they are with the final product

But you were implying that just because it was newer it was going to look better. Then I retorted by saying GT looked better than the sequel.
 
The cars don't look all that better than GTc, I agree but what makes gt4 so better is the track design. IMHO, the track design of gt4 is far better than gt3's. Everything just looks like it should.
 
Yeah theres alot more going on around the tracks, the spectators more objects like vans, cranes ect and it just makes them alot more interesting to race around. And ofcourse better to look at.
 
Indeed, the car models were perfect from the start in gt3 imo but the track design was meh. Now gt4 is another story, the tracks are just amazing and look very realistic imo. But the car models do look alot better than gt3's, hardly any jaggies, they look more realistic, more detail and you can seee the parts under the cars now.
 
Yeah you can see alot more detail under the cars thanGT3, PD have used the same technique to make GT4's cars as theydid in GTC, if you have GTC you can see they sre the same as GT4's but a little better than GT3's and less jaggies. One thing that helps you notice is all the non drivable cars in GTC are the exact models taken straight from GT3 and when you watch a replay select a GT3 car and then one thats drivable in GTC and you can just about tell the difference. But as you said the cars in GT3 needed very very little work.
 
Hopefully PD will change the crowds to 3d, I hope they do because the ppl that run on the track in GT4p are annoying as hell and are ugly :lol: If PD is going to let ppl run on the track, atleast have them detailed. I'll enjoy the rally racing a bit more but don't get me wrong, the rally racing is amazing, hard as hell though. When I got on the Grand Canyon track I was drving like I would in a GT3 rally track and bam!!! Hit like ever wall lol, that's the new physics kicking in. But overall, gt4 looks amazing and more detailed than gt3 by a good margin, not alot but good enough to awe ppl :D

GT3 looks kind of pixelated compared to gt4. Also you can hardly see any jag on the FINA car.
 
Could be because the GT3 screenshot is at a much lower quality cobra...

If you gonna compare them, compare some DECENT gt3 screenies. I myself couldn't see that much difference between them, cept GTp had abit more detail on the tracks. Oh and cars were of GTC quality. Played like GTC if you ask me, but a bit easier. Which is good, coz im CRAP at GTC :D

I was implying that GTC looked better than 3 so 4 would. not that GT4 would just leap better than 3
 
probly because its computer inhanced so it looks better, you ever notice how a game can look so good on a computer but when you buy it you see pixels all over. THEY MAKE IT LOOK BETTER SO YOU BUY IT. i dont know if its that you have a short term memory or if your that high on drugs but im about the 10 thousand person to tell you.
 
Been playing to many arcade racers?!?!?! Is that supposed to be a come back or an insult or what??? GT3 does not look that crap for me, so your GT3 shot is obviously crap quality :P For me GT3 is smooth and fast, not amazing looking, but certainly cleaner and clearer then your screenie would suggest.

LOL, no insult. That's the best gt3 pic I could find. GT3 still amazes me, because it's still the most realistic looking racer out, full racer, GTc can't count :sly:
