GT4 to real Life

Handling on the 'ring is very much affected by what controller you use.

I got stuck for weeks on the license test where you do a full lap with a Mercedes that handles horribly... then I borrowed a wheel, blew it away like nothing, then went back to gamepad.

The key is that at high speeds you need the fine control you can only get with a wheel. There's a physical limit to how small an adjustment you can do with a gamepad.

As a regular attendee of the Nurburg ring I would like to point out that although game is astheticlly pleaseing it is NOWHERE NEAR AS ACCURATE AS PEOPLE BELIEVE. The undulations and and climbs and descents are wrong along with alot of physical detail on the track. It is only a game and a very good one at that but it is only about 80% accurate.

That goes to show how much detail has been but into GT4's Graphics.....just awsome... :dopey: *smiles with admiration*

GT4 great game. Looks great.

But as far as attnetion to detail in the graphics department goes, Forza blows GT4 out of the water in every area. Better textures, more trackside objects and scenery and way more acurate as far as trackside sponsors go.
Real time reflections and shadows on the car (actually refelects the trackside detail)
The only area Forza falls short on GT4 is the framerate. IMO sacrifices were definatly made as far as trackside details and textures go to get the fps up to 60.

Forza looks try hard comparied to GT, and who cares whats on the side of the track anyways, who goes to a race meeting to watch the side of the track?

Have you tried Enthusia Professional Racing? Any opinion on how accurate their track is compared to real life?

Fair enough :) But I want great gameplay and great graphics!

IMO Forza matches and exceedes GT4 in Gameplay becuase of more A.I. cars, better A.I. and comprehensive online features.

Although Forza isnt perfect (I want Force Feedback dammit, and its way to easy to correct oversteer), neither is GT4 (What A.I.? I want proper online features and the suspension settings are screwed), thats why I own both :-D

I'd rather have 60 fps and 700+ cars than Forza's graphics.

Ok then, each to their own :D

But 700+ cars is a bit fake when some models are represented to many times. And I really do not want to own or drive a Volkswagon Lupo in a game either...

Their are plenty cars missing in Forza that I would like to see, but also many cars in GT4 that I couldnt give a toss about, I wouldnt even considering driving in real life so sure as hell dont want to drive in a game.

Again neither game is perfect (Hmmmm, Forza Turismo  ).
But Competition is a good thing and PD and MS will be pushing each other - GT5 and Forza 2 (which will hopefully drag GT5 out of the same old formula) should both kick ass and we the gamers will benefit greatly.
